Wow, we really do have a great PTO compared to some. Not perfect, of course. I found small ways to get involved when DD13 started kindergarten (and DD8 was 5 months old!) and we had just moved to PA from VA, so I didn't already know people.
We just had the first meeting, and they were looking for committee chairs. You can only chair an event for 2 years, so no one takes over anything forever.
Of course, there are times when we are begging for volunteers, and only the "regulars" are working. Our school carnival really works best if every family takes one shift at a something (game/food booth/setup/cleanup). Only 45 minutes, but we hear from people all the time saying that they want to spend the carnival with their kids, not volunteering... yeah, and why are the rest of us working?!!

While this may be true, in my local PTA, they basically just "switched" positions.

Has anyone but me tried Slow Cooker Liners yet?

If not then GO GET SOME! They are probably on the top shelf wherever your grocery store keeps the cling wrap, wax paper, and foil wrapping.

Just line your Crock Pot, Put in the ingredients, Cook, Then pull the whole bag and mess out to throw away at the end.

I love love love them.

Another fan here. As a matter of fact, my crockpot has a hairline crack in the crock so the liners make it possible for me to continue to use the old one.

Besides the reason DH likes this DVD player so much is that you can play different movies on the two screens so DS could watch a movie in the back and he could watch his own movie in the front at the same time.

LOL! I thought that you were going to say that each kid could watch their own movie. Mine would LOVE that! It would do away with the too scarey or too girly arguments.

Well since our chat last night I have been searching for the exact Pirate Flag for the cruise to fly over the balcony ....Its the Jack Rackman (Calico Jack) (this is the one they used for the POTC movies)but you have to find the one that doesnt make the teeth look too kiddish ....

If you dont have a Balcony but you have a window ..I am sure you can hang it up in the window ...it will so cool with all the Pirate flags showing while we are in ports ..LOL

I found the correct one on EBAY ...only 7.47 and its free shipping ...they are 3 foot by 5 foot ...perfect ...here is the link ...

Well I didn't get up and get motivated until about 3pm. Watching LSU/Auburn, we play both of them this year....LSU for homecoming, how crazy is that?

I woke up in the 4th quarter of that game. How exciting! Too bad they didn't get it. It looked like there were some bad calls earlier when they reviewed the game.
