Too bad it is not pirate night..... :rotfl2:

I'm checking in from time to time between checking the football scores, starting work on DD8's bo peep costume, and taking DS to the potty!

I just finished having a "serious talk" with DS. He came downstairs & sat next to me. :)

One photo from our WDW visit last week. I called it my tuneup for the December trip.

We all need a tuneup for December!! Nice shot of the family, and I don't usually see Minnie and Donald together!

You can find them in Toon Town inbetween Mickey & Minnie's house. There is never a wait for that line when we go. :)

Depending on what you're going to major in...cc ends up being a waste of money... For my major it was a 4 yr program (it's a 5 yr now though). It was a full 4 years of classes only available at the main campus. Most student aid programs will only pay for 4 yrs of higher ed. (they don't care if it's a p/t year or f/t year either) If i would have taken two yrs at a local cc. i would have added 2 yrs to my college life and those last 2 wouldn't have been eligible for Student aid (except maybe student loans those last two years.)

Your DGS will want to talk to his HS counselor or a college advisor in a program he wants to go into to see what the best track is for him. (of course some kids don't know what they want to major in so taking a few cc courses and paying OOP would be a good option.)
Thanks for the words of wisdom, Kristina. He would pay OOP for CC most likely.

Lisa, I forgot to mention I loved your soccer pics. So, DD and DS get to play together? Our local soccer league is coed for 5 and under. After that, there are boys teams and girls teams.

Love toon town for photos. DD made out like a bandit there with hugs, autographs and photo ops. Friends who go to WDW every year can't believe that we met so many characters (IN JUNE!) so easily.

Angie, i was looking at the dis geek website again and noticed Aaron's photo; he reminds me of my Walt!!

This is the YMCA's soccer league. The local one is more like a circus with tons of teams, 10 games at a time with 3 times each Saturday. It is twice as much as this too. The Y is a little over a mile from our house. ;) They planned to have 3-5s & 6-7s on teams but there were only 9 6-7s. They put the 5s with them & now there are 4 teams of 6-7 in each section. This is mainly about the kids having fun, getting exercise, making friends, and learning about soccer. Now our games will be at 10. :) I can sleep in a little after all!

Speaking of sleep I am really glad that we don't have the resie rush tonight. I am going to

now. Sweet Disney dreams everyone! Chat with you tomorrow afternoon.

We have always gone there to see Pooh, Eeyore, and Tigger too. :) They never seem to have a line either. I love to pass everyone in the princess line. :rolleyes1 The kids will even say ... we don't need to wait in a line like that to see the princesses on the ship. princess:

That's interesting. Our Y is farther away and more expensive when you figure in the annual membership requirement plus sport fees. (Not to mention that the Canada geese use the Y's fields for non-soccer-friendly purposes, yuck!). DD13 did all her sports through the Y until she was about 7, then the fees jumped incredibly high.

speaking of buses and mean girls issues, dh sent me this link today, it's my BIL's school district, where he lives and teaches. A very nice suburb of St. Paul. http://www.kstp.com/article/stories/S18784.html?cat=1

How about busses and mean parents?

I don't know how it works in other states, but in OH, public schools have to bus private school children to their school if they live in your district - it's the law.

We have several private school children in our neighborhood, and as the traditional beginning of the school year, I start getting calls about unhappy parents with bus stops. My neighbors across the way are such neighbors. They were upset because their 2nd grade son had to walk about 100' and across the street to get the bus. I called the bus garage, and got their stop moved to right in front of their house. Now they want it moved to the driveway on the side instead (they live on a corner). The H called me and spent a half hour on the phone with him. I did not know who to be more upset with, my neighbor, or the bus garage -it is such a minor change. Of course, we transport almost 6,000 kids - many of whom have issues, and I had to get them to understand that they were not being singled out as private school parents, but that their problem had been resolved once - they have moved on . . .

His wife called me the next day and left me a message to forget it - soundled like she was in tears . . . sheesh. Their point was that in the winter the driveway is shoveled, but they would have to shovel a path from across the grass in front of the house to the street - ughhh . . .

Tell me again, why did I decide to be on the school board?

Trying to catch up after a day away . . .

For all my Mac friends . . .

Now that I will have a video ipod . . .

Do any of you "rip" DVD's to your computer, and then to your iPod?

How do you do it?

It seems stupid to me that you can use iTunes to rip CD's, but there is not an automatic way to rip DVD's for playback on your iPod.

summer is over? what? Tell that to FL!! It's hot as all get out here!

Tonight, not sure what we are doing....

tomorrow night is a HUGE game - UF vs Tenn...starts at 8, so I'll have to get out my Gator candles and start the chanting early.

My plan was to go shopping in the morning, maybe WM to get some cruise stuff....travel toiletries etc. I'm sure the girls will love to be drug around!

DS just told me that the Gators scored! 21-20 V, can they hang on?
