The best part about having soccer practice 5:30-6:30??? The kids are too worn out to bicker or even move. LOL! DD is watching HP3 on the floor & she wont make it until 8. :lmao: I LIKE SOCCER!!!

:lmao: It's been a very LONG week. DD is wiped out. She actually went to bed before 7:30. :woohoo: DH is sulking (I am so in deep trouble should he ever read this site), (love ya honey - mean it! )but he is sulking. So what do I do - I keep speaking to him and asking him random questions like I don't notice. It must annoy him. He opted to go down in the basement to watch tv and the big screen one is sitting off in the living room. He must be pretty hot. My thought - oh well I guess I'll watch my netflix movie on the big screen vs. on my computer. Works for me. :rolleyes1
Don't worry I'll be attentive later but I've been dealing with work babies all week I am too tired to pretend to sound sincere.

one of the hardest things about hubby being a redhead is shopping for him. There is a whole color palette that just isn't available to him. It narrows the spectrum a lot and he has lots of casual and business clothes that go together well - LOL.

Sales people are always trying to show me things that just won't work for him.

Kim - does your hubby have red hair too?

I can't answer all of these old posts but this one I had to add my story.

When I took my DS to college instead of just dropping him off and going home we stayed for three days to "help settle him in". At every meal I would just cry until my DW finally told me to get in the car 'cause we were going home! She took me home that day.

I still cry when we leave him. BTW he's 33yo!
I love that story!

((((HUGS)))) It's OK Brack. :) BTW....do you guys book Palo or any excursions last week?

Vanessa - congrats on having an almost done pool. Did you score some $2.99 Disney bathing suits during the sale. I just got my shipment.

Bella,
Which grade is DD in? If it's not a year where communion or confirmation takes place, it would be very easy to work something out with the catachist who is teaching the class. (ie home school her for the weeks that she has has the lessons) I taught classes when DD was in 4th grade (we had about 16 in our class; that was a rough year) and we just followed what was in the books. Then she could rejoin the class afterwards or you could continue home study for the year.

Our church has three options for CCD learning. One is home study. Two is groups of 2-3 families that meet in each others homes. THree si something new we started last year. All ages meet at the church two sundays a month (well it's a school right now, because were a newer parish and the school was built first) They have a potluck dinner (optional ) and then we break up into groups for all the ages. Adults don't have a formal class but we do have speakers and informal discussion.
You are so sweet. DD is in 1st grade so it's just the intro classes which they say are "optional". They have 4 classes throughout the year beginning in October. The October class is Wed at 3:30. Awful time for me but since school gets out early they figure that would work well as the family introduction time.

while we are at it - does anyone else get the most poorly packed and taped boxes from Disney shopping. Everyone I get is falling apart, ripped, kicked in, overloaded with too heavy items for the thin cardboard. This large order that I just placed came with new tape from the post office and labelled re-sealed by USPS.

Could it just be me?

I don't take my kids clothes shopping either. When I do DD tells me all the great finds she doesn't like - if she wasn't there I would just buy it. And then she does like stuff I can't stand. We do like to go accessory shopping together. She loves jewelry, bath stuff etc.

DS takes not notice what he wears as long as it isn't a character he has outgrown like Elmo or Buzz.

Lisa - do you think they will resent us later for not letting them decide what clothes to buy? I am getting to the point where I don't want to spend the money if I don't think they will like and wear it. It might be the start of a new era. But I have clothes through size 7 at least.

Did I tell you guys about the Grand Opening of the LLBean store? I drop DD off and figure if there is no traffic going South I'll jump on the highway pop over wait in line get my little wristband for a gift card (potential to win a $500 one). So I drive over there, I used to work in that area so I go the back way especially because I notice a lot of traffic up ahead by the real exit. WELL, the place was JAMMED. The line was from the front of the store down multiple sidewalks almost to the opposite end. I was amazed! So, I turned around and left and as I left I saw the highway was backed up to the previous exit on both sides. Unreal. I thought I was at an Apple Store opening.

It's also going to be open for 24hrs/day all weekend like the Freeport store so that should be interesting. Too bad it wasn't during the time of booking Palo because that is how I would have killed time!

The first and second grade classes are manditory for first communion here. We have two more years before I can home school them.

I have always gotten great boxes from them. In fact, I have reused every one for packing up the kid's clothes when they outgrow them.

I need to go claim the tv so I can watch my movie. This evenings netflix selection is - hmmm what is it?? Oh yeah, still Friends with Money (will I ever get to see it?), RV and Take The Lead.

Tomorrows a busy day with sign up for skating and Karate class. Have a good one if I don't make it to the chat this evening!

Lisa - I find with my son that sometimes he wants to fit in so badly with the older boys that he misdirects his interest. Obviously I wouldn't let him hit anyone but he does crazy things to get their attention. It might be a case of this. Plus they get really revved up at the practices and it seems that behavior just goes out the window in the excitement. But that is why the coach is there. Men seem to have a different definition of allowable rough housing - in my experience - lol. I would be hopping up every few minutes and be all over it and the dads would just sit there and let it continue.

hope it all works out.

I think it's an unspoken mandatory here or it should be. Explaining why you didn't attend is worse.

DS still tells me to just pick out something for him to wear in the morning. He really doesn't care. I am glad that they appreciate what they have and are not brand snobs already like some of their friends.

What size to your kids wear? DD is in a 4/5 now and I have a complete wardrobe thru 8. IDK how much I have above that. I know that I have a big Target bag with some 10/12s in it. I pick up the basics for that like plain shorts, tshirts, and jean skirts. DS is in a 7/8 and I have thru size 10/12 for him with some larger things too.

They are doing a hip replacement today.

I hope your parents are doing well. As someone who has a replaced hip I understand what he going through. Tell him I said that it is the best thing I have done for my body and to do his exercises. It's been just over a year for me and I walk better now than I did before the surgery.
