we had several rounds of illness this summer but you are right about the return to school and after school activities and getting sick. I am getting stressed enought about the start of K. that I don't need anything else to worry about.

Once my sister was driving me to the airport for an intl. flight and when we got all the way to Kennedy I found that I did not have my passport - let it on the bed at home. Well we drove home and I called the airline because I knew I was going to miss the flight and I didn't feel like rushing and they just put me on the next flight. Just as I got this arranged, my sister came in to tell me that she locked her keys in the car with the car running double parked on the street. Then we had to wait for AAA to come to unlock the car. I had to call the airline back again and try to get on the last flight of the night since I didn't think I would make the re-scheduled one either. I thought my sister was going to have a heart attack. All sorts of people on the phone were giving us advice about sticking a potato into the exhaust to get the car to stall. It got to be quite comical but my sister was a wreck. LOL.

So how'd you like the show? I really wanted Erika to leave next and was disappointed she won veto. :( At least George got some KFC though. ;)

I totally agree! I liked George, I thought the hug with the colonel was a little akward. But those girls are sure stupid...

Yep, the whole Colonel thing was a little weird but George seemed pretty happy to see him and that bucket of chicken. :rotfl:

I can't believe those girls really believe CT. Did they not watch and/or hear about Will's season? He won by lying - A LOT!

That is so funny! Down south in California it is "go to the beach" and here in Orygun it is "go to the coast." Took us a while to get used to using the "proper" term when we moved here. "Pop" and "Soda" are another. In Calif. we "went to get a Coke", regardless of what type soda we were getting. Here everyone gets a"pop". :rotfl2:

And the funniest thing when we first moved here with our then 15YO DD. She asked some of her new friends if they wanted to "go to the liquor store". :lmao: They were "WHAT?" :confused3 Here a liquor store is just that, state run and only sells liquor, no minors allowed. In CA the "liquor store" was the corner market where they sold liquor, plus candy, "coke" (pop), milk, cookies, etc. The kids would stop in on the way home from school for a snack. :sad2: I can only imagine what they thought when she asked that. :lmao: No wonder Californians have a bad reputation up here. :lmao: :rotfl2:

And I thought it was only "POP" in Ohio! All over the East Coast, I think they call it soda.

I drove DrHug to work today. He's working over at the Super WM today, so I can go a bit early to pick him up and shop a bit. I wanted to look for a suit for Aaron for the cruise and a couple pair of jeans for another DGS for school. Then, maybe we can stop for dinner on the way home since it will be getting pretty late. ;) He works until 7 and it's a 30 min drive home. That would be way to late to start making dinner, right?

Angie, does Dr. Hug rotate between stores or is he just assigned randomly?

come on now ...we are all in chat waiting for you guys ...Hello

I checked in chat and it didn't look like any 12/9'ers were there. Is everyone just busy or away for the evening?

Yeah, I checked too, and when none of you were there - I got out quick!

I'm still looking for a good giveaway item that I can ship for a reasonable price - ie. not too heavy.

Have you considered blow up beach balls from Oriental Trading Company?

I'm making small baby steps in progress - I keep getting things corrected on my reservations for excursions. It's taken 3 phone calls now because I don't have time to stay on the phone with them forever.

They are still trying to straighten out the Fury Catamaran thing that Kim had fixed on monday. Argghhh!!!!

Elaine,

Let me know if they give you an early time....

Thanks!

Wow - I'm surprised with all this heightened security that they would let Lisa into the airport without the picture ID.

ugh.

She must have people everywhere . . . :sad2:

passing the bar is great news - in Missouri? or elsewhere?

did she find a job?

Arkansas.

She graduated from University of Arkansas - Little Rock law school this past May. She was an editor for Law Review and an honor graduate.

Forgot to add. She currently works for the Arkansas State Sentencing Commission. She has had that job for a little over a year if I remember correctly. She has been doing interviews for federal judge clerkships.

We always say "going to the beach".

No beach in Missouri....we are as landlocked as you can get. :rotfl: We do however get to go "to the Lake". Lake of the Ozarks is a HUGE lake just about 75 minutes south of us. It is centrally located so people from all over the state can get to it within a few hours.

we did an afternoon catamaran sail on St. John last year - do you think they usually run them in the afternoon for any particular reason?

Did you want to be back on ship early?

anyone been to a Disney on Ice show recently - we went to the Incredibles one last thanksgiving and loved it so I am going to see what is playing this year.

I grew up on the west coast and always heard it referred to as "soda".
