I drove DrHug to work today. He's working over at the Super WM today, so I can go a bit early to pick him up and shop a bit. I wanted to look for a suit for Aaron for the cruise and a couple pair of jeans for another DGS for school. Then, maybe we can stop for dinner on the way home since it will be getting pretty late. ;) He works until 7 and it's a 30 min drive home. That would be way to late to start making dinner, right?

I stopped at a farm stand on the way home from the car dealer and found a bag of 5 pounds of red or yukon gold potatoes for $2.99 OR I could get a 15 pound bag of either of those for $2.49. :confused3 It took me about 30 seconds to decide which to get. They had some beef steak tomatoes and cucumbers too that looked and smelled yummy. Dinner tomorrow. I LOVE farm stands this time of year.

It's 6 pm on the East Coast. V should be headed for her game weekend. Hope everyone else has safely gotten home or to their destinations. Hope we hear from Brandi and Lisa. What worry warts we are!

I had to reread the part about potatoes several times because it just didn't make sense lol!

Too bad you're on the other side of the country. I'd share my garden beefsteak tomatoes and cucumbers with you! But farm stands are the next best thing!

In the Philadelphia area, people believe it is a God-given right to go "down the shore" (that's "go to the beach in New Jersey") every summer weekend through Labor Day.
That is so funny! Down south in California it is "go to the beach" and here in Orygun it is "go to the coast." Took us a while to get used to using the "proper" term when we moved here. "Pop" and "Soda" are another. In Calif. we "went to get a Coke", regardless of what type soda we were getting. Here everyone gets a"pop". :rotfl2:

And the funniest thing when we first moved here with our then 15YO DD. She asked some of her new friends if they wanted to "go to the liquor store". :lmao: They were "WHAT?" :confused3 Here a liquor store is just that, state run and only sells liquor, no minors allowed. In CA the "liquor store" was the corner market where they sold liquor, plus candy, "coke" (pop), milk, cookies, etc. The kids would stop in on the way home from school for a snack. :sad2: I can only imagine what they thought when she asked that. :lmao: No wonder Californians have a bad reputation up here. :lmao: :rotfl2:

I had to re-read the price signs a couple of times too. That's why it took 30 seconds to make up my mind. :lmao:

We had two DGS here all week and there is a pile of dishes in the kitchen calling my name. :sad2: Back later.

Sorry to leave you hanging Karen.....

i was leaving work to get home. The car is parked about three block away.

I had an umbrella but i'm soaked.

DH is out with guys from work

DH grew up using "coke" and I grew up with "soda." Now we're both specific (diet Coke, dr Pepper, etc). Never heard of liquor store for the corner market. Now where we live, the kids stop at Wawa (ours is a small older one on a corner)! (For those not in this part of the east, Wawa is a chain of 7-11 type markets).

Born and raised on WAWA milk. :drinking: (well, at least the first 18 yrs) They had Sheetz and Coastal Marts in Williamsport, PA. But now i can get to a WAWA if i want to. They have one Wawa here in Frederick and a few out in western MD.

I still say "up the mountains" or "down the shore" and i got so used to saying "i'm going down to Philly" (we used to live in n. central PA) that i still say that even though now it's "up" to get there.

Yup - many of my friends are heading down the shore this weekend.

What's everyone doing tonight?

It's kinda funny - my kids are big snugglers. I'm so ready to sit down and to the clipart for t shirts designs, but they want to snuggle...looks like I won't be around much longer on the boards....can we make it to a milestone?

There are very few things that are more important than this board :surfweb: , but snuggling is one of them. :grouphug:

DD needs the "land line" to do something with the cell phone. :confused3 So, since we are DIAL UP :furious: , I will let you two work on the milestone. Enjoy your evenings.
