When I was a teen I had a pen pal from NC who came to town and we'd met and the first thing out of her mouth was "wow, your accent is weird!" I've never considered myself having an accent but she sure had one.

Yup - went I went to college in NC, they all said I didn't have a Northern accent. What the heck is a northern accent? After 4 years I figured that lots of kids from New Jersey went there b/c it was a beach college and they were used to that Jersey accent.

This really isn't too bad to talk to yourself this way, b/c I feel like I'm responding to everyone else's posts...and it's been kinda fun.

I'm sure one of you is going to wake up inthe AM and wonder what they heck I've been up to.

But I ALWAYS catch up on the posts before I sit down and start chatting for real. I feel like you guys chat so much that I'll miss out on the good stuff.

It is 4:15 and I do have to get up in an hour and a half for early service since I have to serve. Does anyone know what an Extraordinary Minister is? Any of you Catholics? Well - that will be me in a few hours...guess I should try to get some sleep.

This is a serious question - what do you guys do when you hit the 40 sec rule? Do you count in your head? Do you just keep hitting post? Do you occupy yourself with something else for a little while and try again?

I know I know! You and my sister and bro-in-law can serve all of us on the cruise!
I'm up early (well, I've been catching up for an hour!) But we went to 5pm Mass yesterday, so we're good to go. DD got pulled to be an altar server again (yes, there's a schedule, but too many kids just don't show up for their shifts, so they have to scan the early arrivals at Mass for a fill-in. DD has served almost every weekend this summer. Guess the kids are "down the shore" and forget to find a sub!)

I usually hit post, but it usually goes through on the first re-try.

Yes everyone we will be doing more than just eating here today. Although mostly my family is playing with the kids which is really what they need to do anyway. DD seems to be feeling fairly good. No illness yet. She is still a little cranky but we all get like that sometimes.

I thankfully can still find cute stuff for DD but OMG when I look at the clothe just across the isle for other little girls. I really, really, really hope the modest look comes back in style quick! I can't believe they make HEELS for a 3 year old!

And I can spell Tennessee because of a song. Anyone ever hear "Tennessee Dancing Doll?" My sister had a 45 of it. But it goes, T E doouble N E double S Double E....I always sing it in my head when I have to spell it.

Yes I am a geek, I know!

Never heard that one but I can only spell Mississippi because of a song.

Never had any Crocs but I have considered it. I kind of like the Disney ones. If they come out with the adult sizes before our cruise I might just be forced to give in.

I really hope everyone was not bothered by the "smilie show". I kind of just wanted to relax and be on the boards but I didn't really have much to say. Shocker, I know! It seems like enough of you like the smilies I find that it makes it worth it.

I just got DD dressed for the day. I was looking through her dresser for a blue shirt with a flower I was going to put her in when she grabbed a green *(lime green )Nemo tank out of the dresser, grabbed the jean skort from my hands and RAN! I guess that is what she wanted to wear. Oh, well it makes her happy and it is not a big deal.

So, am I the only one of the DIS sports geeks with a losing college team yesterday?
Great, then. Enjoy your victories.
Maybe next week for me (well, no, we're playing a better team). Basketball season starts soon!
Maybe some NFL luck with the Steelers to start the season on Thursday.
