Amy, I think you should have a talk with this girl and her parents. She needs to know that it is not acceptable for her to say stuff like that to anyone. I know kids will be kids, but talk of weight to girls is very, very bad. My niece grew up with 2 older brothers who always hounded her and she was a sleek swimmer! She just didn't have the flatboard type stomach and hadn't gotten her "womanly curves" yet. But I can tell it has affected her, her self-image, and her eating. I ALWAYS say something to anyone who mentions weight stuff to girls.

Now you sound like my DH. He loves languages too. Funny story though. DH can pass for an Italian with his looks (he's Egyptian). And he owns an Italian restaurant/pizza place. Some people ask assume and ask him if he is Italian. One time when someone did this he said yes and that he was origionally from Italy. Well, this man started to speak to him in Italian! Now DH does know a smidge of Italian, but he sure was caught with his pants down!


The look on DH's face was priceless!
