But Angie - how do they not dry out? There wouldn't be much liquid in there...
I don't know how it works?? :confused3 It just does, I do add more butter after they get hot again. Do you watch Paula Dean on Food Network? I have learned from her that more butter is always better. :teeth:

I know I shouldn't be complaining since it has been sooooo hot here. we still have not gotten much in the way of rain but boy the grass sure was long. I finally got out and mowed it today. DH is still down with a bad back. they got him on all the good drugs. OW he says he is feeling better and hoping to get up and work on a few things tomorrow.

hey pyramind2000, did you get your GS report done? Mine is still way over due. I have 10th grade cadettes. what group are you with?

PJ I use a very simple receipe for roast in the crock pot. campbells beef vegetable soup for flavoring, potatos, green beans and carrots. I also make a great beef stew. I add a fat free beef gravy to instead of the campbells soup. the kids really love it on cold over cast days.

Nothing to eat....but some peachy thing with vodka to drink...

Actually - maybe it was b/c I DIDN'T feed him that he decided to see things my way.

Hmmm...
:rolleyes1 The peachy vodka thing. Yep and a second if needed. Enough of those and you can get him into any kind of costume. pirate: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

my DD is upstairs doing something and her I sit watching a disney movie--at least I think it is disney. "the perfect man" with hillary duff and heather locklear. seems like a cute movie

I had to go in and set up a computer for a new geeky guy at work. its amazing how they can be so competent but can't set up their own computer.

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't checked in over the summer, we have been busy! Now I am getting back into cruise planning mode. I'll be crusing with my then 5 and 7 year old sons. From what I recall, there are lots of kids in that age range, right? Dh is not yet sure he is coming, he may have to work.

I haven't told the boys yet about the trip. Their birthdays are in November so I will tell them then, it can be a bday present.

Are we doing shirts for the disboard'ers? It would be fun to give the boys their shirts as a bday present and see if they put it together, haha!

Hope everyone had a great summer!!
Welcome!! We are bringing our DGS who will be 7 with us this trip. There are several in that age group. They should all be able to find a buddy to be with most of the time. The first page of this thread is full of information. Send an email to Lisa and when she gets home she will get you properly signed up.

We are glad to hear that you are geeks too. I am not a band geek, but I married one  . We are both Disney geeks though.

Welcome Tana!

I dont' have any kids that age but we always love new people on our cruise. :)

Well my parents just left a few minutes ago. They will be back tomorrow morning after they eat breakfast. I think I kind of like them staying at a hotel. It just seems less stressful. They will get here tomorrow morning, have lunch here and then we will all go out to dinner. I imagine they might come back here for an hour or so and then they will go. They plan on leaving very early on Monday so tomorrow evening will be my last chance to spend time with them.

The kids are thrilled they are here and DD is becoming not just Daddy's girl but also Grandpa's girl. :)

For those of you on chat last night, we found out today that DD did NOT eat on Friday. She was lying about the corndog. She felt guilty and told us herself. Hmmm as someone who loves food just in general, this one stumps me....

Kim

kim, has DD said why she does not feel comfortable eating at school? :confused3 .

All we get is "I just didn't want to". Hopefully she will talk about it sometime this weekend.

Kim - Has she ever eaten at school or did this just start this year?

She only had 1/2 day kindergarten last year so this is her first year with food. When she went to the University preschool she hated it, and it was only 2 hours, until we told them she did not have to participate in snack time. So this is not the first food issue she has had. Her dad is the same way and often goes until 6 or 7 p.m. without eating at all but he said he ate school lunch.

We talked to a psychatrist about this and he thinks hunger may win out, but I don't know with her.... I make her lunch on the days I know she will hate the food (like chili and burrito day) and she says she ate those sandwichs on 2 of the 7 days. All of the sides come home, but the sandwich has been gone.

Anyone got any bright idea's?

Well I was just wondering if it was a recent thing because I thought maybe some of the other kids said something that made her think she should not eat. I have heard of situations about kids (especially girls) at even really young ages talking about how they should diet because they are fat, etc. I wondered if maybe there was some "peer pressure" to not eat her lunch.

However, it sounds like this has been an ongoing food issue.

Her sweet little friends have all been made fun of at different schools. One little boy told her friend she was the fattest girl he had ever seen. DD is 6 in the 90th percentile for height and she weighs 52 pounds. She still wears a size 6 in skirts so I don't think anyone would make fun of her, but you never know. I will ask. Or maybe it's just that her friends are being made fun of and it stresses her out that she will gain weight. How come kids are so mean these days?

i wonder if someone has made a comment. having seen pics of her now, she is a very beautiful little lady. But sometimes kids are just mean for no reason.
