i love making chili, could i set it up the night before and let it go over night on low?

Yes you could if you wanted it early in the day. Or set it up the night before, stick it in the frige over night, plug it in when you get up if you want it later in the day. I set up my roasts and stews the night before also. There is no way I have time in the morning to make dinner.

I use my crockpots, plus my mom's and sister's for mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving. I have to make so many for the hordes that come here, that I started making them the day before, putting them in the fridge, then into the crockpots Thanksgiving. On low about 4 hours with frequent stirring and you have mashed potatoes just like you just made them. Very helpful hint I read in the food section of the newspaper about 6 or 7 years ago.

we did an afternoon catamaran sail on St. John last year - do you think they usually run them in the afternoon for any particular reason?

anyone been to a Disney on Ice show recently - we went to the Incredibles one last thanksgiving and loved it so I am going to see what is playing this year.

Well, because DD is an Ice Skater we have seen nemo, princesses, jungle, and a general disney one. DD loves them! We are going to miss the next one because we will be in AZ....

He works for an agency. He works for everyone. He has worked in all the Safeways in Oregon except a couple. When he first started working for an agency he did a LOT of assignments in the far corners of the state and even down into Nothern Calif since he is liscensed in both states. He spent over 260 nights in Best Western motels the first year. He got paid his regular hourly rate while driving plus mileage so he was willing to drive 6-8 hours each way and cover that stores in the boonies. But now they just pay mileage so he said not more than an hour or so away. Not worth it to spend a day on the road each way when he could be working locally and making $$. I went with him alot and prowled around the small town histoy museums and antique shops while he worked. It was fun seeing the whole state and having our hotels, gas and his food covered.

Angie, does he know from day to day where he is going or is it a suprise?

I am very surprised that Lisa got on the plane with no ID. Can't wait to hear that story!

....voila....we have now ordered a really cool pirate shirt for him....I'm gonna make the rest of his costumes....

...both of my boys wanted Jack Sparrow Costumes...found some for about $27...not bad...ordered those...

and now - we're really gonna do it.

something I thought I'd have to wrestle with...they are all going along with.

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't checked in over the summer, we have been busy! Now I am getting back into cruise planning mode. I'll be crusing with my then 5 and 7 year old sons. From what I recall, there are lots of kids in that age range, right? Dh is not yet sure he is coming, he may have to work.

I haven't told the boys yet about the trip. Their birthdays are in November so I will tell them then, it can be a bday present.

Are we doing shirts for the disboard'ers? It would be fun to give the boys their shirts as a bday present and see if they put it together, haha!

Band geeks, yearbook geeks, mac geeks, photo geeks, disney geeks, everyone is a geek in some way and most of us in more than one, lol. Actually the convo, came about because of band camp jokes I think in chat one Friday night.

What kind of geek are you, we can add it to the list, lol!

ok, we'll play.. dh was the brainy geek in high school and I was a band geek in junior high! We'll fit right in.

Is anyone staying at Disney World before the cruise? I can't decide which hotel to stay at on property. I'm leaning toward the All-Sports, only staying 2 nights and don't want to go top of the line since we'll be at the park all day Friday and won't have much time to enjoy the nicer hotels.

I am at SSR from Tuesday til Saturday, bought my AP for this trip and next years trip. Will most likely be doing MVMCP on Tuesday night. I get into MCO at 11 am and should be ready to hit the park around 4 pm and have dinner at 5:45 at CP.
