kimerinc said:I actually volunteered my company to take over the website. We have an IT group dedicated to creating and maintaing e-commerce websites for profits and non profits. I told them I would do it for FREE and they said no. At the district they have a new IT guy and they are going to control everything. Meanwhile, I did get my excersise!

Can my school district take you up on it???

Our web site drives me crazy!
Of course, we have no money to dedicate to it, so we have the kids do it, along with any time the IT people can spare, when they are not chasing other problems. Being a "Mac-Centric" district, we don' have as many issues as PC districts, but the networking stuff still drives them crazy - and you can't keep good network engineers on a school district budget.
Our company website also drives me crazy! We also only have one IT person who runs around fixing things and no time to work on the website. The owner of our company - barely older than me, is almost entirely computer illiterate. He has someone else get his email for him, and does not even have a computer in his office. Meanwhile, his 84 year old uncle (who once did HR and Labor relations for the company) and I converse on email daily.
An IT department? What's that?
