Lisa - they start school on a Friday? Wow - nice way to break in the year (for the kids) I would have loved that!

But I am 5'3" so Haley must take after me in that dept..and luckily Doc is not worried at this point...it was so funny though , she was troting around the room and trying to open the door and Dr said you aren't going anywhere without keys - she turns around and marches to my purse and grabs the keys!
How Adorable! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yes, it is a real tease! LOL! I miss when they started the first Monday of August.

Don't worry - I have too!

Becka - Allie and Haley sound alot alike...although Haley is a great eater as is Samantha...I only wish I had their metabolism! Some days seem such a struggle, we haven't started Haley in time outs yet but she pretty much doesn't do anything "bad" yet just being over tired and crancky sometimes and then she is much better just going to bed. Last night was VERY odd though...she couldn't get to sleep which is highly unusual for her....Samantha on the other hand had no problem.

This has been a recent development for DD. Lately what has been getting her in trouble is now that she has her room available for her to play in I want to keep the door open so I can still keep an eye on her. Well she wants the door shut and she knows she is not supposed to close it. Well she goes over to the door looks over at us, smiles, shuts the door and then runs. She knows what she is doing and when you try to tell her not to shut the door she just gives you one of her half smile smirks that just drives me crazy!!!

I am trying to not worry about the food thing because when she does eat she eats very well. If you give her one of her favorite foods she can really put it away. She can eat an entire big can of cooked carrots or fruit without any problem. It probably would not seem so weird if it was not for Nathan being an eating machine at that age. I used to laugh at those Gerber toddler food commercials that would say something like "Remember Mom that a toddler's stomach can only hold 2 tablespoons of food..." or some nonsense like that! If that was true then DS must have 10 stomachs! :rotfl:

We just got a booster seat for Samantha - it has a removable back, which we left on for now and it is MUCH nicer. Before, she has such long legs and DH is so tall thus the seat needs to be further back her knees would be in the back of the driver's seat. The booster is lower and much nicer. We then gave Haley her old seat so now Haley is forward facing, which the jury is still out on, but she was so smiley all the way to school - like she was such the big girl now. I'm constantly amazed that they have grown as much as they have....:( they aren't "babies" anymore!

I did some research on boosters last night and I really just don't like any of them. I guess I will just have to pick the one I dislike the least and go with it. Do you know which one you are using with Samantha? I think DS will be thrilled to be out of the car seat. I only hope DD will not pitch a fit because she wants out of hers too.

Lisa - I know what you mean about the attitude. That has been the most shocking thing of all about DD. I just still cannot fathom that such a little, little thing can have such a big attitude already.

DD still uses a high backed Century booster. It is a convertible that we got DS with the 5 point harness, which of course isn't used any more. We have a regular booster in the other car. I prefer her to use the high back one when we are traveling because her head can rest against the side when she falls asleep. I hate how they flop around in the regular boosters when they sleep. :(

AAAARG! Distracted by the fruit conga line! And I still haven't identified all of the fruit.
Check Lisa's website for our cruise. There are pictures of all the fruits with names. :goodvibes

I think this is the brand as well, but I would have to check. I wanted the high back for that same reason...I hate their little necks flopping around!

I didn't like any of the boosters....there really wasn't much selection around here, our Toys R Us closed and Burlington Coat mainly had all the regular car seats.

Don't worry about the eating...please! :) You don't need the kids developing an eating problem in one extreme or the other. DS was an AMAZING eater as a baby and even up until around 2 1/2. His problem...he wouldn't feed himself at all because he hated any kind of a mess. Didn't like food on his face at all. He ate the toddler meals & even baby fruit & vegies up until then...he'd down a whole jar of them. Everyone commented about how much more stuff he ate than their kids. Well, he didn't end up liking regular food. UGH! :( DH would get upset & try to make him eat. I just couldn't deal with that because it reminded me too much of being force fed as a child...probably until 10-12. I was underweight and had a real problem with eating...but they didn't have names for it then. DS is trying new things...slowly but he added pizza to his list of likes in the past year. The doctor is aware of it & tests for iron level & such but DS is fine. He wont touch bread, vegies, or fruit. He stopped eating cheese last year too. There is just too much else to worry about.

His lunch in school is 1-2 nutrigrain bars (I guess that I sneak the fruit in that way ;)), pretzles or chex mix, juice box, and a snack like fruit roll up.

(That should keep you busy chasing those for a while. ;))

Yes, Lisa - it's funny - our ped always comments on eating and eating habits saying not to worry (and not to inflict) especially since the girls are fine in all there other aspects....

OK, on my way to bed...yawning already. I have to share this joke that I just got in my email. :lmao:

A man walking along Bournemouth beach was deep in prayer. Suddenly the sky
clouded above his head and, in a booming voice the Lord said: "Because you
have TRIED to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish."
> The man said: "Build a bridge to France so I can drive over anytime I want."
> The Lord said: "Your request is very materialistic. Think of the enormous
challenges for that kind of undertaking. The supports required to reach the
bottom of the Sea; the concrete and steel it would take.. it will exhaust
several natural resources. I can do it, but it's hard for me to justify your
desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that
would honor and glorify me."
>
> The man thought about it for a long time. Finally he said: "Lord, I wish that
I could understand my wife. I want to know how she feels inside, what she's
thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means
when she says 'nothing's wrong,' and how I can make a woman truly happy."
>
> The Lord replied: "You want two lanes or four on that bridge?"
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I was so tired yet I managed to watch Grey's and then Titanic (again)...DD was up too and had to watch it with me. She is really fascinated by it and loves to see the footage of the boat on the ocean floor. I have to admit I'm pretty fascinated by it too...I remember as a young girl there was a black and white movie about it that I would watch all the time....can't remember the name though.

Hopefully tonight we can get some down time...I am starving though, need food!
Was it "A Night to Remember"?

I am not too worried because when she does eat she eats enough I think it is just that regular Mom worries about making sure she gets enough of the stuff she really needs. I never force her to eat anything. I do want to be aware and careful so she does not end up with warped views on food like me. :sad2:

I washed our sheets today. When our DS climbed into bed he said "Oh Mama, I love when you make my bed smell so good." He makes me laugh! What a kid. Although, I also  nice fresh sheets!
:goodvibes that is a ritual I remember with my mother and one I maintain with DD! I love fresh sheets.
