It's good to get what you want instead of having to take it back or wear it and hate it.... But how many of you have worn something you hated because someone you loved cared enough to buy it for you?

I was there in 1998 before DD was born, but I did not remember the guards. Thanks for the heads up. I don't think DD has ever seen a real gun before. Paint Guns, maybe DH or DF rifle.... I just really don't know if I should say something or wait or ?.....

Kim

Kim- I truly believe that it will probably bother you more than your DD. I say don't make a big deal about it and she won't either.

What time do you clear customs and are ready to leave the port?

I think DH is getting me a spa gc for my birthday so I can get a manicure and pedicure before the cruise. I have never had either (can you believe that!). When should I do this before the cruise so that it stills looks nice all week?

Also, are any of you ladies (or gentleman I suppose as well) going to sign up for any spa services on the cruise? I had a hot stone massage last time that left me feeling like a limp noodle. I am considering it again but it is so $$$$. I also thought about a facial but I just don't know. Any suggestions?
We love to get a couples massage. We probably won't this time because we will have Aaron with us. I do hope we get some Rain Forest time though. Hopefully he will like the club this time.

As I recall, we were off the ship, cleared, and waiting for the shuttle to Budget Rent a Car at about 8:30 am. We were with some of the first people off the ship.

Amy, I am hoping you are right. DD seems to ask a lot of question about the war. The other day we were listening to President Bush on the radio and he said "we live in dangerous times". DD said, "Do we live in dangerous times?" This was the day of the arrest of the terrorists, so I turned off the radio and we talked about the war and how scary that would be to live over there... I can't tell if I am being overprotective or she is just inquisitive.

Clearing Customs has never been a hassle for us . . . very efficient and quick.

DCL also puts your luggage in a particular section by staterooms - there have always been plenty of porters in the terminal to help you get luggage through customs too.

Last time I was up at about 5:00 as we pulled into PC - went out on the veranda, and looked over and saw Lisa's DH Mike up too, both of us watching the ship pull into port. Every other time, I slept right through it.

You have to tell me why the couples is so great. DH doesn't want to do one because I like to hear the massage person talk all the time and he doesn't. He also doesn't want to feel obligated to talk to me. ha ha

I hate the last day. It is exhasting, and I never sleep well. The cool thing our last cruise was that we had an excursion booked through the cruise line and got to wait with just a few other people and they took us right to a bus and then off to the florida everglades.... then to the airport.

Kim

I love the last morning, it is a great time to take photos of the ship all empty. Of course getting up at 6 am for Customs helps, lol.

In my case not at all but my issue is time of which I have none (she says as she posts and reads here incessantly  ). Or rather I don't want to take on another project and one I'm not to keen on to begin with -

The only thing I don't like about selling on ebay is I hate having to run to the post office. Well that and I do hate the time it takes to list, so I don't really sell a whole lot but I just can't see paying someone else to sell stuff on ebay for me. If I want to sell it bad enough I'll do it, but I'm frugal like that. ;)

Kim,

Sophia asks those kinds of questions too - asks a lot about death, war, and bad people. But with the army guys at the port, one approach is to ignore them with your DD, and if she notices, then tell her they are there to protect the people from any bad people. Sophia didn't even notice them - I DID, and they made me uncomfortable wondering just WHY they had to have such weaponry at the pier?

With Sophia, it is more what she thinks about, and worries about. My MIL always worries about abduction, and stuff like that, so she has instilled a fear in Sophia of those things. Caution is healthy, but for two weeks after that Sophia was terrified that some bad man would come into our house and take her!

We as parents have enough to worry about our kids these days without the constant fear propogated out there by everyone.

Are you ladies trying to butter us up for something????

As to the "power panties" my experience is that they can be pretty powerful without the spanx.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: Ain't that the truth!! They actually did a study that showed that men get "stupid" when they see a pretty face. :lmao: The subjects lost considerable math ability when shown a picture of a beautiful face. :sad2:

Oh tell me! Thanks to you guys I started watching the darn show.

LOL... I'm worse, I watch the live feeds a lot. I don't think I'll do it again next season though. Watching the feeds makes the show seem outdated. Like someone has already won veto, someone has been evicted, a new HOH has taken over, 2 new people are on the block and veto for them is tonight... so watching tomorrow's show will just rehash everything that took place days ago. I get so confused.
