i know how it is to need that mommy/daddy "alone time"....

It's just a little far for you to get to a boat to cruise....

Is it possible to find some alone time closer to home? Maybe a B&B with a hot tub or something like those hotels in the Poconos with honeymoon suites and other activities..... Maybe even Niagara Falls...

I was about to post the exact same thing. Find a nice hotel or B&B. Get a couple's spa treatment and go out to a nice fancy dinner. This would only have the kids away from home one or two nights & will cost a lot more than the cruise...with less stress.

It sounds like it is an either/or choice between the cruise & WDW later on. In that case, I would do the B&B for your anniversary & keep the WDW planned with the kids.

I know lots of people love it but Branson was never really our thing. We saw a lot of the shows because we were bored and because we could see them for free but I don't think we would actually ever have paid for them. Our general idea was to just go there to relax and to be a little silly doing things we did back when we were dating. Mini-golf, a movie, dinner at a favorite restaurant (and this time we could order what we wanted without having to worry so much about the $$$ ), walking around campus, driving to the park where we used to park our car and......talk , walking down to the Point like we used to to.... talk some more.

BTW.... We went to a HS musical (of Suessical) last night and somebody ripped off our plain black mickey antennea topper....

John......You couldn't pick us up one when you go to the world next week could ya?

HAHA I was up too late not able to sleep last night & still feeling like yuck today. I have been taking a break from the boards to finish up the cruise website, do our taxes, and sort out the financial stuff this weekend. Fun times!

I can't watch it anymore until next season (why, yes, I'm way too emotionally invested in A GAME played by 18-22 year olds, I know...)

Just also wanted to let you guys know we are having a GREAT time here. It is sooooo nice and relaxing - mostly just sitting by the pool all day.

This would be a wonderful place for a Geek reunion if we decide on something other than a cruise someday.

Hope everyone is well - glad to hear you are OK Marielle - what a heartbreaking game. Three point shot to put it in overtime - and then just blown away in OT.

Last year, Sophia and I were stung by jellies here (not bad just stingy pinches on the legs) when we were wading in the surf. So, the closest we get to the ocean is the deck that overlooks the ocean. We haven't even walked on the beach. None of us is true "ocean swimmers" anyway, and there has been some rip tide here too.

So we will stay by the pool - thank you!

Elaine - it may be more like two hours - I wasn't thinking - it took us about an hour and a half from the airport - probably another 1/2 hour to WDW. I'll let you know when I can since we are driving to Beach Club tomorrow morning.

Just kidding . . . that thing is called a Tidal Wave Sundae, and is supposed to be for two - all THREE of us could not finish it. It was full of ice cream, sauces, bananas (gotta love that), brownies, and cookies!
