BTW Vanessa - LOVE the weather! :thumbsup2

And I have to say, neither Amy or I enjoyed Southwest Airlines. The ride was fine, and the crew was funny, but the A, B, C gate thing, and having to get in line 40 minutes before boarding so that we knew we would be sitting together is for the birds!

Southwest is like a big bus in the sky!

(yeah, I know, it's cheap)

Wow, John! What a coincidence!

Well, Angie & Dennis, before the game tips off, here's to a well-played contest. If for some reason the game does not end as I hope, then at least I can be happy for you two!
but, until then, GO HEELS!

 Hello everybody!

After we got here, about 5:00, Sophia and I were going in the gate to the pool, and the couple ahead of us looked at us and said "Aren't you on the WB Repo cruise??" :rotfl2:

Now what kind of coincindence is that?

Got to meet Tiggerhappy and her husband who are down here to catch some baseball Spring training. I am terrible, and would have never recognized someone from pictures! They are on our WB thread.

John - that is so cool and amazing - LOL. WOW!!!

I hope you have a wonderful time - can you give us the lowdown on kids activities at Vero when you get back - it looks worth checking out.

where did you fly into?

Having Walt comes in handy with Southwest; priority seating for those under age 5(? I think). And you can get the A passes 24 hours ahead.

Southwest was great when the kids were under 4 and you could pre-board. But the snaking lines so that you can't tell what is A or B and the fact that you end up in C if you don't print your boarding pass immediately is a real bummer.

One time on the return I had to put Jaea next to some strange lady because no one would move - ok it was really my fault for shopping too long at L'Occitane and then taking the wrong monorail to the wrong gate area. But anyway, that was upsetting - of course Jaea talked their ear off - I had to keep Giona with me because there is no telling what he might do alone in a different row. YIKES.

SW is the only airline that has direct flights to Orlando from Albany and yes quite a bit cheaper than Jet Blue or Air Tran. But I am getting tired of it also.

Totally, totally agree, John1. And the thing is that I have always been able to find comparable rates on real airlines from up here. Not a SW fan.

We are not getting to watch THE GAME :cheer2: here. They are making us watch Orygun. We are getting score reports though and right now it is half time for UNLV/UO so THE GAME :cheer2: is on for a minute. So far so good, but I'm just plain nervous! :scared:

Oh, congrats to V! Even without the nightgown!

Good morning!

We flew into Orlando, rented a car, and drove here. It is about an hour and a half or so drive. You almost go right by the port - you go just like you are going to the port, except you tak I95 South. Since we are going back to WDW for the balance of the week, this made the most sense. I think there is a closer airport in Melbourne.

I will bring back the kid's activity sheets and scan them after we get back home. Today we are doing a character breakfast, then Sophia is making a canvas bag decorated with seashells, then she is doing "seaside chefs" activity. When we got here we swam and Sophia and I played two rounds of mini golf. The pool here is GREAT! Last night, we had singing around a campfire with the staff, and afterwards you make s'mores.

Vero is really relaxing, and there is always great stuff for kids to do. Sometimes I think we should just stay here for the week and skip the World. It is however (Spring Break) very expensive on points this time of year - we are actually staying in a studio here, and we are used to a one-bedroom. It seems a bit cramped, but still bigger than your average hotel room. A one-bedroom would have been like double the points.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Marielle and Brack, congrats on the comeback. :cheer2: I wish we could have watched that game rather than Orygun, but then again may not.:sad2:

thanks, Angie. It's the first time in the tournament that I've gotten to see the Heels play (other games took regional priority, like Orygun for you).

But the comeback was amazing. Unfortunately, the news that the UNC senior who is the mascot at games was critically injured before the game (hit by a car walking back to the hotel) really puts things in perspective.

Oh my goodness! I had not heard this. We will keep him, his family and friends in our prayers.

That is exactly why I love SWA so much! I can determine the exact seat that I sit in just by my own will power. I do not have a problem standing in line A to make sure that I am first on the plane. That way I do not have to beg someone for a good seat ...... if there is even a good one left! :confused3

To each their own! I don't like the color red (years of rooting for the Tarheels and not NC State!) but I know that you do. Somebody has to like it but just not me. I'm I funny or what? GO SWA!!
:lmao:

John I hope you all are having fun at WDW. I can't wait for my trip in September.

Guess what guys . . .

Today . . .

Sophia . . .

Went . . .

Down . . .

The . . .

Slide!

This is a BIG deal. When I tried to get her to go down, and reminded her she went down the slide on the ship, she said "yes, but Savannah isn't here to help me go down" - then I bribed her with another game of miniature golf, and got her to go down.

Needless to say, that was the beginning of the end, and now I can just watch her go down the slide all day, knowing that all that climbing will make her sleep good at night. And of course, my darling daughter has made friends while here with other kids.

And, even though she will hide before she plays a public game, nominated her dad for a pool game with the DJ. Just to let you know, I had to dive into a pool and make my way to the other side while wearing a Florida Gators jersey (got that Vanessa?) with two play balls stuffed inside, and relay to a partner who then had to stuff three balls inside (I think you get the picture). No pictures though . . . Amy had already gone back to the room for a siesta!

Oh . . .

And forgot to mention . . .

BUCKEYES WIN! AGAIN!

FINAL FOUR!

Marielle and Brack, if your Heels can beat the Hoyas, it will be an all DIS semi-final. We'll see how V's Gators do tomorrow!

Tomorrow we are going to see the Dodgers play the Indians!

John, sounds like a wonderful day was had by all.

Congrats to Sophia on the slide!
