Well, they are finally getting around to interviewing for the new position I applied for at work. Took a long time to sort thru as there were over 100 applicants. Narrowed down to 12 that they are going to interview. I'm one of those 12. :woohoo: :woohoo: So, my interview is at 8:30 tomorrow morning. I was the first one they called to set up an interview and I choose the first slot. Send some Pixie Dust my way! I feel really prepared for this. I have read all the Directives and Memoranda for the service and studied the likely interview questions. (the VA has a site you can pull interview questions from for specific positions and as their written application questions came from this site I figured the interview questions might too. :teeth: ) So, if I am not selected it will not be because I was not prepared. I will be interviewing with a panel of 5 people, but I was told I "know them all and will be fine" by the person setting up the interviews. :thumbsup2 We will see what God has in mind. The interviews will all be completed by Tuesday noon next week, so hopefully I will hear by Friday.

I sound like the crazy aunt everyone passes around after the "Home" won't take her, lol.

Penny

Actually you do remind me of my aunt Joanne, but in a good way..... ;)

My aunt is only 4 yrs older than I am. (She was born when my DM was 17)
My DGM & DGF lived next door to us growing up so she was like the older sister I never had.

Good morning everyone!
I cannot keep up with this thread... I am getting excited for our trip! So glad it is now within 6 months... we booked onboard 12/2004 so it feels like FOREVER!

I made our dining ressies last week and got everything we wanted. Only glitch to our plans was that the Song flight that we booked was eliminated so we had to change things around, and resulted in us arriving a day earlier (darn!) but now we are waitlisted for the additional (first) night at the BCV.

We decided to rent a car from Budget to get us from BCV to the port and will rent again when we return. I think we'll go to DTD and have lunch at Earl of Sandwich and play around a bit... even drop off our luggage at SSR's airline check-in counter so we wont' have to hassle with it!

I will have to go back and read all the messages -- but have I missed anything huge?

What a horrible ending to a miserable day!!!

We had our playoff game tonight. The rain was mostly a drizzle, that part wasn't too bad. The game was supposed to start at 7:30, but the game before ran late so we didn't start until somewhere between 7:45 and 8:00 (depends on who you ask). I am fairly new at this, just started coaching last year. Well, the girls were doing great!! We were ahead until the 4th and this is usually where we lose it. We came back, then lost it again in the 5th. We were now 4 runs down. Well, all of a sudden the umpire says the game is over. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 I have no idea what is going on. I hear that an inning can not start after 10 pm and it was a minute before. I am not a confrontational person, I walked over to see what was up. Most were saying to finish the game. Both sides were pretty much in agreement. But the ump said no, those are the rules. :sad2: Well, my parents were highly upset. I think one of my assistants thinks it is my fault for not making more of a fuss saying it wouldn't have been that way if it had been the other way around. I searchrd the rule book when I got home and it specifies the inning starts the second the last out is made in the previous inning. So this would have been BEFORE 10pm. I wasn't even aware of the rule (not too much anyway since I have only played one night game previously) and I wasn't paying attention to the time as we were in the middle of a good game. The girls feel quite jyped, but it almost seems fitting for the kind of year we have had. When I look back on it, we really shouldn't have even started the game.

Sorry to ramble. I feel like I somehow have let the kids down. Not it a very good mood...

Oh Caroline - don't feel that you let the kids down. Coaching is such a thankless job. I can't imagine what you are going thru, but I watch our boys baseball coach argue so much. Such a stress! Hugs to ya!! Hang in there!

Caroline, that sucks! I bet with the extra field time, your team would have done great!

Bubbasmom99, the day extra hurts, doesn't it? LOL.

Goofyforlife, seems like a good thing to be the "crazy" aunt. I think I will take the position for the lenght of the cruise! At least everyone will be on the look out for me, and DM can be sure I will get home and will there to take her on the cruise in Oct 07.

I haven't made any ADR and I am using DDP, easier to budget for a solo. Have to get on that. I really only did Boma as a sit-down last trip and I really like the break it give to the day, so doing DDP. But as you know still have two TS credits to figure out. Haven't done my DME reservation yet either. And just incase, I wanted to make arrangements for DCL pick up at WDW, if they do that on a Saturday, and it ends up being the easier method, might as well have my ducks in a row now instead of worrying about it later. :donald: :donald: :donald: (we need a smilie for "ducks in a row". lol)

Caroline - the game ending the way it did stinks! It wasn't your fault! Sometimes stuff just happens!

So do you think we really will need dining reservations the first week in Dec.? We plan on getting DDP, but planning what time and where each day right now just seems overwhelming to me. Do you think we won't be able to get a table for sit down dinners if we don't have ressies?

I am usually well planned for every trip. I don't have any ressies at all! I am still not sure what we are doing.

I didn't get those tickets my husband wants me to wait...wait...wait!!!!! He thinks we could get a really good deal closer to the trip. Waiting is killing me!

Angie, when we did our 2 sit downs last December after the cruise it wasn't easy to get the times that we wanted. I had to call back a couple times then get them changed.

The week of December 3rd thru 10th, is Pop Warner and Mini Cheerleading Championships. Also Mega Mouse Meet is that week, they get off the Wonder on the 7th. I think that ADR's will be kind of important. And TS meals might be nice to get away from whatever crowds that there might be due these events.

Ps. see my ducks dress well and they are trained, lol.

What a morning! I woke up really angry about what hapened last night. I called around to a few people to get their take on things. Came to find that some on the board were talking and wanted me to call the VP (president is out of town) to get a vote going to finish the game. Wind got to the other coach and we are now finishing the game tomarrow. The whole thing has left such a bad taste in everyones' mouths. If we win I will feel bad because the other girls were told they had won last night. Not fair all around, but I guess this is all that can be done at this point. So much more to the story....
Thank you all for lending an ear! DH doesn't have much interest. I truly appreciate the :grouphug: !

We stayed in a villa last Dec (2nd week) so expected to cook meals in our room. We did save alot by doing that.

However, a couple times we called to make a last minute ADR and they didn't have anything except after 9pm...... I can't eat that late.....

I want to make a couple for after the trip though.....

Oh, OK. I will get those :donald: set up, decide where we want to be when and make some calls. Sigh...too much going on.
We have two - count them - TWO DL trips still to go before WDW. July is all set, I think. 3 GKs, DD and DSIL going with us on that one. We will drive for that one and are planning on coming home "by way of Montana." Sheesh! That is NOT on the way. So we will drive 2 days to DL, spend 5 days there, drive 2 days to Missoula, MT spend 2 days there then spend an 11 hour day driving back to Portland. Then Sept 8-10 we will be flying down to DL- just DH and me. :lovestruc Sept 9 is the 39 year anniversary of the day we met at DL. Still have not scheduled the air or hotel for that one.

OK, I will stop complaining as I guess there are millions of people that would love to have the "problem" of not having enough time to schedule all the trips to Disney. :sad2:

Angie, we usually travel to WDW at that time of year, and we always make ADRs... but whenever we've changed our minds and tried to go somewhere different, it's usually been "sold out" for the rest of the night or a really long wait... but these are at the more popular restaurants (Le Cellier, Coral Reef, etc)... so it depends on what restaurants you had in mind.

How's Aaron?

I guess we better figure out where we want to eat and when and get that set up!

Caroline - I hope your girls play their best tomorrow night! I will be thinking about them.

We took our son to see CARS tonight. It was such a big deal because it was his first trip to the theater. He was so excited! During the "sad" scene he was crying and said that he wanted to go home. It was so sweet...I guess you had to be there. He is a bit emotional for a little boy!

I loved the part where they went tractor tipping. That had us laughing. :happytv:

Joy - How do you get a Dis Supporter under your name? I have seen them for other people but I am finally taking the time to ask about it.
