Just how many GKs do you have Angie?? My mom has 16 (and 4 GGK with another on the way). My MIL has 20 now I think?? DH is from a family of 10 so there are still 2 unmarried son who will add to her count!

We have 5 GKS - 4 boys, one girl - and 3 kids. We think they are all likely done "going forth and multiplying", although DS and DDIL may eventually have more. She has had 2 miscarriages since DGS 6yo (their only one) was born so we are not hopeful that they will have more. Both of our DD are done for sure. 5 is nice though. We are able to get them all into a minivan with us at one time, put the "We're going to Disneyland" bumper sticker on and head out. They range in age from 16 to 6.

That would be a good idea if we did not live in the county we live in. Just last month they arrested - yes ARRESTED - a 13 yo boy for killing a snake he found that was already injured. His parents told him they were not taking a snake to the vet and to just take it outside and put it out of its misery. A couple of neighbor girls saw him kill it (smashed its head), told their daddy who called the police, who arrested him and our local District Attorney charged him with FELONY animal abuse. It took his parents and the attorney they had to hire over 30 days to get the charges dropped. 30 days of incredible stress for the child and parents. Of course the letters to the editor of the local newspaper are coming in since it hit the paper. Are we at risk of arrest for killing the moles and gophers that are tearing up our yard? I am sure they would not look kindly on shooting a bird for pecking my window. Really crazy we think.

That is just stupid! Good thing they didn't see DH chop the head off of a baby copperhead on the porch last weekend. Let's see...kill the snake...let the snake bite the kids & deal with that...easy choice IMO. Did you know that a baby snake's venem is more potent because it has a higher concentration since the snake is smaller?

Well, guys! It's lots of fun but we have to over to pick up the pizza. As much as DS insists that it is Thursday...it is pizza Friday. I wont have to stop the kids from eating DH's pizza today. A couple weeks ago I left the kitchen with three pieces in the box thinking that DD & DS were done. DS came in & told me he was SO hungry that he almost ate 5 peices!!!

They did, Lisa. The family going with us were my sister's crew. Her DD, DS and their families. They are all still pregnant and doing well!

Yep, we will just make sure the neighbors are not looking when we target practice with the gophers or lop heads off snakes.

I know that he has been very busy with the school board and work lately. They will be coming to NC in another week for vacation so there is probably alot of work to get done ahead of time.

If only the parent of the two girls had come over and checked in to see if the parents knew about the boy and the snake. Sometimes it pays to take a breath, ask a question, then react.

We had bbq chicken for dinner, did the basting with one of those new silicone brushes. Boy do those coat the meat perfectly, and the clean up was so easy.

OK you guys have been down right chatty since I've been off the board! I love this posting fever thing and as soon as I can I'll join in on the fun. MrsMork you made me really laugh when you wrote "bird snot".

We leave for Baltimore on Sunday and have to be in the office on Wednesday so I will not be able to post much until then. I'll write about some of the really "fun" things that have happened in this move experience. Needless to say that I have lost a lot of hair.
