Well, I finally talked to someone in the family who knows something & there will not be a funeral. She will have a graveside service at Arlington to be buried with her DH but that could be up to 2 weeks away. I guess that you guys are stuck with me for now. ;) Thanks for all of the good wishes. I still haven't been able to reach Mike.

:grouphug: Lisa!

Was she military? I remember having to "wait" for my FIL's burial date here at the national vet's cemetery... you're kinda held hostage on making any plans until they can give you a firm date... I hope you get a date soon so the arrangements can be made. I'm sure it will be a lovely service though... they do a beautiful job.

Lisa,

I waited for about 2-3 pages and just assumed I was ignored so I went away. Of course 2-3 pages happens in about 5 minutes over there. I'll go back and check.

John

OK, I wasn't ignored . . . Lisa gave me another title, "Mr. Dictionary", and Caroline told me to get out! But I was already in bed!

Mike's GF served in the military and he is buried there. The service was very moving. I think that we will spend some time taking the kids around the cemetary that day or maybe the next. They have heard about JFK's site and a couple other things. I think that this will be a meaningful time for them to see that.

DD has been obsessed with Abraham Lincoln & George Washington this week since they have been learning about them in school. She came home yesterday quite sad that AL had been shot in the head. When I told them about daddy's GM since I figured that we would have to pick them up from school to drive up today, she frowned for a bit. She then asked me if Daddy's GM is now in Heaven. When I told her that I thought she is, she smiled & said COOL! She can meet Abraham Lincoln then! Thank goodness for the little ones being able to make us smile at the hardest times.

Do you really have that much time on your hands to be lurking over there??

Geez, let my spelling guard down for a moment...;)

Soooo any dining ideas or birthday ideas for Thur, Fri (bday), Sat? Also, unfortunately in our ongoing mission to try new things I've run out of creative thoughts. Also I can't duplicate the things that were done at my nephew's 7th at WDW (which led us to where we are 3 yrs later with her bday). We've done most of the GF kids program activities, YC/BC kids activities (pirate scavenger hunt). I'd love to do the cruise one at the BC however that's Wednesdays. We did a GOAL scavenger event for him and Wishes cruise for his 7th. We did an Illuminations event and private event for his Mom with characters (that's from the pic that I used on the cruise website for DD). So I have not one clue. :confused3

I didn't realize you were going so soon Carla....

I'm jealous....

Oh and a cool thing to do for her b-day is go to Beaches and Cream and get the Kitchen Sink. (she does eat ice cream right)

They will give her balloons and such and sing for her b-day.

We had hoped to make our big California/DL trip in 2011 or 2012. We wanted to wait until both kids were old enough to ride pretty much everything and wait until they would be old enough to remember it since I doubt we will get out that way many times.

I KWYM Becka..... I myself keep looking at the Disneyland site and I'm thinking WOW...there's so much to ride that i've never rode before (and might not return for again)

I can't wait to see Mr Toad again or to do the new Nemo ride or the coasters..... I get all bubbly just thinking about it....:goodvibes

We had a message this morning that Mike's GM died Wednesday. I don't have any other information but expect us to leave some time today to attend the funeral. On the plus side, the kids will get to meet uncles, aunts, & cousins that they don't remember from when they were very little. I don't know how much time I am going to have up until then so wanted to let you guys know why I am gone for a few days.

:grouphug: for you guys and Mike's family Lisa....

I know what you mean though about funerals being one of the few times family gets together. My dads family is like that.......

Hey Lisa, if your coming up to Arlington...Let me know and maybe we could me somewhere down there.... There is that Disney outlet at Potomac Mills....and lots of restaurants around there....

You want to know how this happened?

I was out on the cruise meets summary page, just kind of looking around to see what different cruise meets threads there were, and I saw YOU made the last post on the EB thread. I came over to say Hi, and see if you were feeling better, and once I saw the number of posts I figured you were OK - BUT I just happened to see "cohearse" and could not help myself.

I only lurk over there if you guys are close to a major pirate: :)

PJ, I saw you are sailing with Angie on this cruise, so I did not include you in our fax to DCL IC.

Personally, I think I am cuckoo for doing this - it seemed so strange to ask for a cabin for 2011, but I did it anyway. No one called.

V, you need to do this too!

I put in a request for an 8 and I have not gotten a call saying they are not accepting other than suites.:goodvibes

Now this may just be a case for the Mythbusters . . .

Someone on our repo thread posted that the PC is being expanded by 2011 to handle larger ships, and from what they saw, these ships would fit.

Someone else even found the webcam for the shipyard so we can watch them being built:

http://www.meyerwerft.com/page.asp?l...subs=0&did=826

I have that webcam saved to my favorites! DGS told me last night that a 12 step program would not be enough for me, I'd need at least 25 steps! :lmao: :lmao:

The CA cruises make them so much $$$ I really think they will put the 2011 ship out there. They can start with 3/4 day Land/Sea packages just like they did when they started with the Magic in Florida. I think the second new ship in 2012 will replace either the Magic or Wonder and whichever one it replaces will end up in CA doing the 3/4 day cruises while the new ship in CA transitions to 7 day cruises. Mexico in the spring/fall/winter and Alaska in the summers. Just my opinion of course....

I also wondered about CC - does anyone know of any islands out there that could be used. Maybe Alcatraz? :lmao: Just kidding.... ;) No CC may just be the reality out there - it doesn't really fit with Alaska cruises anyway.

Dennis and I were discussing private islands out west. I told him they could buy Catalina :lmao: :lmao: He reminded me that even though Disney has the money to do that, it would not be the same because the water is cold. Even Disney cannot heat the Pacific up to match the Caribbean! :lmao:

Hmmmmm . . .

I think the Cal cruises make so much money because the California cruisers have the money to spend.

I am just blown away on the WB thread by how many of our new cruisemates have, and have had the more expensive category suites . . . and how they have had the Walt or Roy Suite. One of our new group has the Walt suite this year for NYE! Most of those folks are from Cal and out West.

I am still betting (hoping) the new ship (first one) stays here.

:lmao: Yes, and they are doing the EB, the WB and the Med in suites. Holy Cow! We are in the wrong business or something! ;)

Is anyone else having trouble typing 2011 and 2012 and thinking of them as YEARS? They just sound so futuristic and they are just a few years away. :rotfl:

I took DGD to the dentist this morning and when we stopped to get breakfast I was telling her about the new ships (she went on 4 day Wonder with us) and she told me that is only 4 years away and she NEEDS to go with us!! :lmao: Yep, I think she does!:thumbsup2
