So, the school bus does not appear on time (well, on time after the scheduled 2 hour delay). OK, no big deal, have to allow some extra time today. After about 20 minutes, one of the neighbors decides to call the district transportation office. After the waiting on hold for awhile, the dispatcher says the driver was here at 10:30 (on time). Well, no. The bus stop (12 kids) is right in front of my house. Hannah was out stomping on the ice mountains since 10:15. I don't think we (and everyone else in the neighborhood) missed seeing the bus! So they say they'll send another bus, but the kids have waited out in the freezing weather long enough. We get them into our cars and drive them in. When I got to school, I saw their bus, with a substitute driver. Hmmm, Mr. Bus 51 Sub. Did you forget one of your stops (THIS BUS ROUTE HAS A TOTAL OF 2 STOPS!!)

Ummmm....Duh!!!! Don't you love how they tell you that they stopped and yet you know they were not there!!!!:confused3

The kids where I teach have a 6 1/2 days off!!! Tuesday was early dismissal. Snow days on Wed and Thursday. Friday is teacher torture day (I mean teacher inservice). Sat and Sunday always off. Monday is Presidents day.

Those lucky ducks!!!! Our good friends are in Disney right now and pulled thier kids out for the week. They are thrilled that the girls are only missing 1.5 days instead of 4!!!!

I scored ressies for CRT for breakfast in August. Who will we see? Will Cindy be in the lobby? In all of my travels to the World I never ate in the castle. This is very exciting for me but now I need to know who I will be seeing.

Thanks everyone!!!

We were there for dinner and lunch before the photo package became mandatory. The characters vary so its best not to get your hopes up.

Cindy was in the lobby for photos. Upstairs we saw - Snow White, Aurora, Mary Poppins.

Check the allears website about who it is there currently but it may change again by Aug. I see that Chef Mickeys has now eliminated Chip and Dale - they were always there - maybe they are cutting back on the numbers of characters at any meal.

I asked several different CM's about the pre-school time that they did last year but they haven't announced this yet but one told me it was very popular - so maybe you will catch some of the kiddie concerts they did last year.

The only good thing is that there were other people who can back me up on this (the same thing has happened about 5 times with Elizabeth, but she's the only one at her stop, so it's my word against theirs.)

Nathan went in for his first immunotherapy drops this morning. He did really well. He will do five more weeks of the drops and then go back for another round of testing in mid-May right after he turns 5 to see if we have made any progress.

It is bitter cold here but at least the streets are pretty clear although parking lots are not. I almost killed myself in the doctor's parking lot and all I could think of was that I was going to break an arm or a leg next. Today was actually the first day I have driven for about 10 days and I did pretty well. Making turns pulls and hurts a little but I have almost full use of my left arm again so that is nice for a change.

I thought there were other princesses there too. I guess not. Do you also get a free photo?

d'ope! Depending on which meal you do. Dinner is just Cindy, the FG and the mice. We've done all three and personally breakfast was my favorite....we've seen Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, Aurora, Snow White, Wendy and Belle in there. Peter Pan was quite a surprise.

I know that we really did not get as much snow as some but this is our backyard and poor JoJo. :sad2: The snow has a coating of ice on it so his feet slip out from under him.

Yep! You get a picture with her as part of your meal.

I also have the Princess Storybook Breakfast in Norway scheduled for one of the mornings. I was debating changing that one. Our August trip is all about the kids. We are doing almost all character dining. Here is our schedule:
Aug. 12 – Chef Mickey 5:00
Aug. 13 – Garden Grill 5:00
Aug. 14 – Hollywood and Vine 12:15
Aug. 15 – Boatwright’s Dining Hall 5:00
Aug. 16 – Akershus – Norway 8:30
Biergarten – Germany 5:05
Aug. 17 – Crystal Palace – 5:05
Aug. 18 – Cinderella’s Royal Table 10:10

We have free dining because we rebooked when we were there in December. We are paying for CRT out of pocket. I was wondering if we should ditch Akershus and add a Dinner on the 11th. That is the day we are arriving.

What do you think?

We still have snow troubles. All of the highways are covered so you can imagine how the back roads look. Tomorrow is a Teacher inservice. If they cancel it we will have to add the day on at the end of the year. I will have to take a personal day because I will be leaving for Disney the last currently scheduled day. If we have it I am concerned about driving in this mess!!!

I would really look at the overlap of characters - you have several which are Mickey, Fab 5, Chip and Dale. well Chef Mickey and Garden Grill. Chef Mickey is really chaotic, although you are going early. CRT and Norway also overlap although you don't get to eat in the castle when at Norway. The photo with Cinderella is hardly free - you are paying an exorbitant price for your meal with pic. I also find the meals there to be really chaotic too.

You can see Cinderella at 1900 Park (dinner) with the Prince and the rest of the Princesses at Norway.

I Love Crystal Palace and the food is good. We saw Little Einstein etc. last year at Hollywood and Vine - it was cute and at least a new and different group of characters.

Stitich at Ohana is something to consider too.

CRT and Chef Mickey really suffer from their popularity.

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! I am still not getting much better. A little bit, maybe. Argh! I went to the Urgent care yesterday, and I was right. I do have the flu. :confused3 At least I got some Tylenol 3 to keep me from coughing, so I can sleep. The OTC stuff, Dextromethorphan, just wasn't working. Influenza...I hate you! I had the crappy shot too. What a waste. With this stuff you have to get better to die. I am having a total body ache.
I need to be at CC. Yeah! that's the ticket.:)

Thanks for the:grouphug: and good thoughts. If anyone had any bad thoughts, well, thanks for those too!:rotfl:

John, we were right! Again!:scared1:

Men: Scary News If You Had a Vasectomy :scared1:
Men who have had a vasectomy face a higher risk of developing a rare form of dementia that is characterized by a steady loss of language skills, Reuters reports of new research from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. Specifically, the male sterilization technique has been linked to a neurological condition called primary progressive aphasia, or PPA.

All of you be careful out there, especially in the storm areas. :grouphug:

Den

Well let me tell you that you will wish you had a rare form of dementia if this over 40 lady gets pregnant!!!

I would not pay for CRT out of pocket. While the castle is nice it is not worth the poor treatment, bad food and rushed visits with the Princesses.

The resort character meals are usually quieter and calmer - well except for Chef Mickey. We like Cape May cafe and 1900 Park Fare.

I wonder if they will eliminate free dining that they usually offer in Sept. because they are giving it as a re-booking reward?
