I am feeling really bad with this flu stuff, but I thought of Little Amber and I can only Pray and be thankful for my illness. May God grant her a Miracle!
See, I knew it.Yes, Sweet Man your omelets are yummy, however they take you a LONG time to make and you could not get them made, served to 3 kids and get you all out the door dressed appropriately in time for school and work.
Ah, that's where the cereal comes in.
You are too funny, Mister!oh come on Caroline - your hubby is a gem - I thought he was really good with the girls and he seems like nothing really fazes him - that is why Ken liked him too.

AND Raspberries!

DrHug did prepare a meal for the kids once when I had a miscarriage. He opened a can of spaghetti and put it in a sauce pan, opened a can of hash and dumped that on top of the spaghetti, the topped the whole thing off with some cheese. I said, uh, no thanks, I'm not really hungry. Nope, I did not ask him to get breakfast for them, although he can do a pretty mean bowl of cereal! There are things he does better and easier and things I do better and easier. He does not ask me to figure out why some mechanical piece of equipment is not working (computer, car, washer, etc) and I don't ask him to feed or dress kids. It works well for us, we are both happy doing what comes easier for us.

Brings back memories . . .
When my mom was in the hospital and we were little, every meal either came out of a can, from a package of lunch meat, or a pack of hot dogs (dad could boil water). That was about it. That was back in the days BEFORE we got to go out and eat at a fancy place like McDonalds (which we got to go out to sometimes on Sundays a few years later).
You are really bringing back memories! I was 11 years old before I ever set foot in a restaurant! Then I went to a coffee shop with my dad when he took me to the doctor in the "big city" of Grand Junction, CO. Had a burger and was amazed at the ketchup in the squeeze bottle.
But when I reached my teenage years my sister, brother and myself did go to McDonald's in Downey, CA - the original one!- for lunch every Sunday after church. Our mom was working then also and both parents worked on Sunday, thus the "treat" of McDonalds. 5 Burgers for a dollar. My brother got 3 and my sister and I each had one.
