I am having a bummer day, and you all have been very funny! Our dog died last night. As many of you know she had an extremely rare blood disease that made her blood very very thick. one of her vets worked at the emergency clinic in colorado that you see on T.V. all the time and she said last night in 20 years of emergency vetrenary care, she has only ever seen 1 case of this and that our dog was the only one she had ever tried to treat. She started having horrible twitches and siezures it was awful. Savannah was a wreck. We got her upstairs quicky and Steve called the vet and took her down immediatley. No oxygen to the brain.. sad day. Savannah and I were trying to watch something distracting on T.V. and I swear every commercial was a dog commercial. So, she went to bed really late and got donuts at 10 p.m.. She should have asked for a pony.

Our friends mother passed away on Saturday so we will be going to that funeral on wed.. My family does not do funerals. They are all cremated and the ashes spread, or buried, but no funeral. My first funeral was when I had been married to Steve and one of his friends died. I really don't like them, but I don't know anyone who does, so I guess that is normal.

So, I am trying to get myself out of this funk. Maybe I need to go shopping like Lisa....

John, we stayed at Beach Club Villas last February and loved it. They have a GREAT POOL! Hmmm....

Oh Kim, I know all too well what you're going through. I'm sending you lots of HUGS!

BTW, Disney trips really are a wonderful form of therapy :) Not that you need a nudge....

LOL, I once saw a comic strip where the dog was bragging to the other dogs - "My owner says he's taking me to get TUTORED!" and he's all excited and wagging his tail...

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: From all the moping Roswell was doing the last few days, I don't think he thought he was going to get tutored!!:lmao:

Kim, I am so, so sorry to hear this. :grouphug: Please give Savannah a hug for us and tell her she (and you and Steve) is in our hearts.

Dennis and I are going to get our carotids and legs scanned for plaque today. We also will get a scan checking for abdominal arotic anyerism (spelling John1). A company is doing these scans because these are silent killers (stroke). I was thrilled to be able to get a baseline. They will have the results read by a physician and then send us reports that we can take to our doc for our medical records. I am particularly happy to get the AAA scan since my father died from complications of this. He obviously had it for years as it was the size of a football when they did surgery and no one ever knew he had it. :sad2:

Ibrahim had an aortic aneurysm that he had open heart surgery on a few years ago. His was not abdominal, but right by the heart. I would definately get the scan. My friend's DH past away a year ago from an abdominal aortic aneurysm that he knew he had, but the doctor's didn't think was necessary to operate on yet. Here's praying for clean scans your way! :grouphug:

What's the treatment if they find something?

I always get so anxious when I have any kind of test done, always scared they'll find something.

Hope it all comes back fine.

I'm not sure. Probably drugs, life style changes or surgery if it is too bad. I think they can ream out the carotids.

Yes, hopefully clean, but I know too well that the aneurysm is silent or misdiagnosed until it is sometimes too late. My dad was treated for back pain and stomach pain for several years before his doc finally ordered as scan (after Dennis told him and stepmom to insist) and he had a FOOTBALL size one. :scared1:

John1 and Vanessa, DS (Aaron's dad) called and he has a friend that had an extra ticket to THE GAME!!! He had to look around a bit to find someone to watch Aaron since his DW works in the evening, but he did get a friend to watch him and he is now on his way to his friend's to hook up with the group. :cheer2: :cheer2: Whoa! That lucky bum! His friend lives about 10 min from the stadium also, so I think parking will be at her house. :cheer2: :cheer2: Oh and the ticket is FREE!! Well, already paid for so free for him!

UGGG so they have to cancel our cards and start over.

This is the second time in under two years this has happened.

Darn thief charged $171 at CVS.com and then attempted charge at KODAK.com which was rejected. HMMM couldn't charge $5K Maybe because Mickey already has my money from Dec.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Kim, Shavanna, Steve, Huge Hugs From Canada!

The kids are impressed by the Ohio band. I wish that they showed more of the pre & halftime band performances on TV. Mike was a Marching Hokie. :)

I thought that was pretty cool too, Lisa.

PJ

OK, I learned something tonight. I didn't know that you could bounce on your knees down the field with the football until you crossed the goal line. <insert that rolled eyes whistling smilie dude here>

Kim, I am so sorry to hear about your dog. I just told Kaitlyn and she said that Savannah really needs a hug now so can she go to Utah to see her. :) I told her that isn't possible today but she can call later if it is OK.

Thanks Lisa! Savannah says she cried last night so she is doing better today. She and daddy are looking at pictures of Golden Retriever Puppies. My dad knows we have always had rescue dogs, and told me this may cost a a little more than you are used too. I told him, I just want to buy some longevity. Our dog would have been 2 on February 24th. I just love goldens, so I hope they pick one!

I came on to get an update of the big game and THERE ARE NO UPDATES! UM JOHN1, VANESSA, AMY, JOHN2? Must be a good game!!!

Kim

Kind of boring actually, Kim. Score Score Score. 4 touchdowns in the first half to me means that the defense of both teams aren't that good.

Kaitlyn fell asleep on the couch so didn't get to call. I will tell her that they are looking at puppies. You should hear her talk about Utah...like she has been there done that. :lmao:
