I love that story Brandi! Sub for Santa is a program where parents who cannot provide christmas for thier children sign up for a "sub". They are all thoroughly checked out by the program then people who want to help sign up to be a sub for santa. They give me a list of children, thier clothes sizes and favorite colors and there wishes. You can ask for a family that you will meet, but I always ask for one that I will never meet. I think it is probably very hard for them to ask for help, and the director told me it is harder for her to place the families who want no contact, so I always take as many as I can. I just bawl all the way through the store. I am such a baby about kids.

I am a sucker for kids as well!!! My kids are so spoiled on Christmas morning. I would feel so guilty if I didn't help when I could.

I asked HER for alist and she wants me to make a list of dress clothes to wear. considering I don't know what SHE is wearing that i need to coordinate with - THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO! BACK AWAY FROM THE BAT..and the GRIFFON!

I'm changing the laundry..she has assigned me a task....Ummm..dear, where's the laundry? Do we have one of those?

Well, I did check yesterday. My 5 Below store did not carry the same items as Karen's store. Too bad; I could have purchased accessories. You're safe.

We live in a very diverse school district. Christian (just about any denomination you could think of - lots of ethnics), Jewish, and many with no religion at all.

Our HS choir does a Holiday Concert every year with sacred music - traditional and classical holiday music. They also cover both Jewish and Christian traditions, and non-secular songs. They do such a beautiful job, that NO ONE has made this an issue.

It is heartening to be part of a school district where we can both respect and enjoy each other's traditions.

That is how they are supposed to be. I was on a website for school board members while doing research for my topic. I of course...thought of you!!! I am also using the famous florey v. sioux falls school district(1980) case.

I was doing my work. I came home at 4:00 but there was nothing I could do....SHE needs to make the list and start the organization running...without her lead, I'd dead in the water, no pun...

The packing involves her list of stuff we need. I could clean but then anything I move / clean / put away etc is not right....she'll scream because she can't find it.

The whole process has to be organized and she is the leader, I just follow orders.

You are such a man (and that is not a compliment). I bet you know you will need clothes, underwear, socks, etc.. during a week away from home unless you plan on camping on deck 6. You don't need a list to at least start gathering items that you know you need. That would be fewer things that Kristina would have to worry about. Sheesh!
