IMAGINE!!!!! Most teachers are concerned about parents who don't get involved in their kid's schooling! :sad2:
Karen's son's teacher is the exception...not the rule...Thank God! There are bad teachers everywhere. There are bad everything everywhere. We all deal with annoying coworkers or bad employees. It is a fact of life. The bad part with teachers is that they are having a direct effect on our children. Thankfully these are the exceptions....usually you don't end up with more than 1 or 2 bad ones in your whole life...some never get one.

Prior to kids DH and I would go to Walmart or the grocery store at midnight...it was nice and empty!

I will be back later...I have a few things to do before I need to pick up my DS at Preschool.

Brandi is just doing drugs at 2AM.

Brandi...did you share your meds with Carla?

My excuse?!!! Well ya see, I had this crazy lady call me at 11:54PM...not 11:54AM....11:54PM and I really didn't get a good night sleep.

so please excuse my confusion on this rather foggy Thursday morning.

there must be all kinds of cancellations, my mom called while I was calling, (I guess she didn't want us with her) and got me a room and it was cheaper...hers was $144.64 for 2 nights, mine was $178.54...I kept mine and don't want to call about the rate but I thought that was odd. The hold times were pretty long as well so I wonder what is going on....?
I wonder if it's related to all that rain you reported on earlier and the scheduled shuttle launch?

My Oriental Trading stuff is here. I had to ship it rush because I procrastinated about choosing something then hubby threw the catalog away and I had to plow through the online site.

USPS needs me to sign for it for some reason - they must have sent it that way so either I need to go over and get it or hope I am home when they come back.

I don't think I can turn the goodie bags around fast enough to ship it to the port so I will have to carry it.

Great news! :thumbsup2

It's that way all over. Yikes. All of our teachers are aliens!!!! DGS is having problems now and he was an A- student. They have gone wacko I tell ya. They were all prepared for a written English final, when the teacher telss them that they won't have to do a written final. They have to memorize 15 lines from a Shakespeare play and design costumes and backdrops, then do act that part of the play in front of the class. Wow. That's very valuable. I am sure that he will need to know how to do that when he is in Pharmacy School. A whole term of English boiled down to that! He didn't take the Shakespeare class because he didn't want to do that. There is an English class that deals with JUST Shakespeare. (AND WHAT'S with that?) I studied Shakespearre all four years of High School, and though I appreciate it more now, It wasn't worth a hill of beans to my life's work and interests.
I will add to this that our frustration is that this teacher only gave them this info the day before TG. So over the TG weekend they were supposed to find a costume, build scenery and memorize and act. This kid is not a thespian, not an artist, but he can discuss the play and answer any question you ask. However, 1/2 of his grade will be based on his "costume" and the "scenery". He told us last night not to expect a good grade on this one....no costume, no scenery but he will be reciting the lines. :sad2: Doesn't have to have an understanding of the lines, just recite them.

WOW! You guys were chatty last night! :chat:

We got some ice and freezing rain last night so of course all the schools are closed but the kids' daycare is open plus both of our workplaces are business as usual. We are going in together so we only have one car out and we were waiting until the sun came out. The major roads are said to be in pretty good shape but side roads are very slick. It will be an interesting commute.

The worst of the storm will develop late today. They are calling for up to a 1/2 inch of ice then followed by another 8-12 inches of snow.

Hopefully we will make it to work/school and back home again without too much trouble.

Becka, please check in with us from work so we know you are safe! :grouphug:
