Does anyone out there use a separate program for their smileys? I have one but I don't like it; it keeps messing up...

Elaine...I have been researching St Thomas....where did you stay? I am trying to convince DH to MOVE but so far he wants to wait....personally I am ready to squat on some deserted island and claim what's mine.

Elaine, Dennis and I do not do a lot of drinking. We may have one or two.

I plan to drink a significant amount but only at night when I can stumble back to my cabin. $5. a drink on board is not too bad - I thought it would be more. I'd rather try a bunch of different wines by the glass though - most of the ones at WDW are now at least $10/glass.

We stayed on St. John and we used Viva vacations. They are very professional. We stayed outside of the main town but fairly close - up on a hill with a great view. Next time, I would stay at the other end of St. John away from the bigger town and more remote and quiet. I loved the house that we rented though. Completely open to the view - no doors. We got woken up in the mornings by the rooster and goats next door.


Car rentals and food are expensive there. They didn't seem to have kids menus and prices, so eating out would have been expensive. There are several food wagons stationed along the main roads with food by home cooks. You can buy dinners there but we cooked most nights - still spent almost $200. on groceries.

We only stayed a week - don't know much about long term rentals. I think most of the work there is catering to the tourist trade. St. Thomas is more overcrowded although there is more to do there and that is where the airport is.

Moving someplace like that is a wonderful thing to think about.

I used to play an old BASIC language game called "Lunar Lander". It had no graphics! As you gave the command to slow down the lander it told you whether you landed or crashed.

I have a friend who lives on St Croix year round now for several years. It would be really cool to be "native".
