today we actually had some sunshine. we are expecting the temp to drop all day & by tonight we may have freezing rain & snow flurries. Dh, kids & I are really getting excited about the cruise. I am not sure if I will have a job when I come back. It sounds as though the decisions will be made while I am gone. I hate not knowing in some ways but in others it really doesn't matter. I have enjoyed working here and hope that everything turns out okay. I get to start packing this weekend. DH & I are going to the casinos on Sat night if my sinus infection is better. I am feel tons better today--doc gave me antibiotics on tuesday so I think they are finally kicking in. well, everybody keep posting. I'm sorry I don't get to help out as much as the rest of you but I at least try to do my part.

Missy

PS I got all the name tags done. I was thinking about printing out 2 pairs for everyone so that we can use them at the terminal and another meet if people wanted or keep them for scrapbooking. what do you all think?

Had to find the armadillo info because I also associated the armadillo with Texas more than Florida. So while it certainly exists both places, it is the state mammal of Texas!

Off topic random question.....I have been wondering this for a while now but forget to ask. :)

Those of you who put frozen meat in crock pots....what do you wrap it up with? I use to use saran wrap then foil but the wrap stuck & I had to peel it off the meat. I then used waxed paper....same problem & it is annoying in the morning when I am trying to pop something in the pot & head out for the day. TIA!

I use saran wrap. If it's really stuck to the meat I'll run it under warm water for a few minutes and that seems to do the trick of loosening up the wrap so that I can peel it off real easy. :thumbsup2

Uhhh Kim...An Armadillo is an Animal that you find in Fl....Little, hard skinned, like a possum.....

When you say Texas...do you mean Amarillo?
:lmao: :rotfl2: Amarillo is a CITY in Texas! :lmao: Texan here, and yes they do have armadillos in Texas as well as FL. We saw one sitting by the road in FL when we went to Kennedy Space Center.

Good Morning Everyone! :wave2:

I am back at work today  but at least I feel a little better since I had the break yesterday. Nathan started running a low grade fever again last night when I went to bed but it was gone again this morning. However, he said that he still did not feel too good so Aaron went ahead and stayed home with him today. I think he should be ready to go back to school tomorrow and hopefully the rest of us will not catch it.

I called The Perfect Gift this morning and ordered baskets for the kids. Hopefully they will like them and it will save some space in the suitcases since we won’t have to bring sand toys. I was not sure I was going to order them but since we saved money by downgrading I felt like it might be a splurge worth making. I ended up getting the medium bucket for Nathan and the small one for Allie. I hope she does not feel slighted with the smaller bucket. Shirley seemed concerned that the medium bucket would be too large for Allie to really play with. They will end up sharing the snacks probably anyway.

We now are at officially 3 weeks until we leave and I am starting to get some of these last items off my list. I called and scheduled my car’s oil change/tune-up for next Monday so that will be out of the way. I have my spa appointments made. I ordered the baskets. I have all of my hotel reservations, maps, etc.. Things are starting to come together. It is pretty exciting. I get kind of jumpy just thinking about it all.

I did have a cruise nightmare last night. Our inside room was far smaller than I expected and I started feeling claustrophobic. Then we got sick and had to stay quarantined in that little, dark room for the trip and we didn’t even know if it was night or day. I wonder if this is my subconscious trying to tell me I made a mistake by downgrading? :confused3 How dark is the room with all the lights on? Will I need some additional light? I know we will need some night lights when we are sleeping but do you need more during the day? I am glad we saved money but this whole thing is obviously still making me really nervous. I knew what to expect with our previous Cat 9 room and now it is all just a mystery.

I have a lot to do this weekend. I need to get somewhat packed for our T-giving trip and also get a lot more cruise packing done. We need to get our outside Christmas lights put up and get our tree at least started on Sunday evening. We may need to finish it by putting up the ornaments on Monday evening. I also should probably wrap all of the Christmas presents for my family this weekend as well. It promises to be a crazy weekend!

Of course first I need to survive today and tomorrow! ;)

:thumbsup2

Thank you!!! If I mail it this Saturday...do you think that I am close enough to our sail date???

I'm also curious when I should mail. I wasn't going to but now I'm thinking it would be a lot easier to ship the school supplies, DIS goodies, etc... before so that I can pack a little lighter.

Can't help you on the lights 'cause I like it dark! Are you clautrophobic? I hope not!! My youngest is a little bit. I'm sure you'll be fine, if not, just go outside your room to the 'lounge'

I had a nightmare last night, too - forgot it until I read yours.
I was parasailing on waterskis in the ocean and these really HUGE waves were coming right at me - I could send the up/down motion of the water, too - really weird!! Proably all this water I've been drinking this week (cutting back on diet coke!)

Becka, I think having 2 sizes of sand buckets is a good plan. Nathan can build a better sand castle with different buckets to mold and stack, right?

II. GEOGRAPHICAL RANGE AND HABITAT:
The nine-banded armadillo is distributed from Peru and northern Argentina to south-central and southeastern United States. It is also found on the islands of Grenada, and Trinidad and Tobago.
Its habitats include temperate forest, tropical rain forest, tropical deciduous forest, tropical scrub forest, tropical savanna and grasslands.
Armadillos like to live close to water. In places where the climate is usually arid, they tend to concentrate near streams and water holes.

:rotfl2: :lmao: What have I started.... :rolleyes1

Becka, you are just second guessing yourself! There is plenty of light with the lights on and we LOVE the complete dark for sleeping. You will have room to move about and hopefully you will NOT get quarantined!! :sad2:
