Well in my defense one of the rolling suitcases is mostly full of goodies for this group, a big wetsuit for DS that has all that floation stuff in it (it is HUGE) and the two big pirate hats for DH and DS. Another rolling suitcase will have diapers, wipes, etc.. you know all that stuff you need for really little kids.

We are now up to 21 Jeeps - Tonight at 9pm est is the cut off ...I have to get this list to the Company in Cozumel - If your a Johnny come lately you are more then welcome to join this group , but you will have to make your own arrangments for your jeep ...

I got my AAA TripTik (maps) in the mail. The only thing is that it has us driving through East St. Louis at night.... Um..I don't think so! We will find an alternate route through STL.

Time served: To be an officer (Pres/VP/Sec/Treas), we require that you have spent a year as a committee chair first (most committees have co-chairs, so this is not a hard requirement to meet).

We do not have a fundraising committee. There are fundraising events with committees that we have been doing for years and years and they work, so we keep doing them.
If we want to kill off a fundraiser or event or project, this is discussed and voted at meetings (again, generally the officers know ahead of time through discussions and put it on the agenda). If someone would like to get us involved in a new fundraiser/event, that is also discussed at a meeting or meetings. Anything new is researched fairly well. (Although this year's president is just throwing in a sales-type fundraiser in for February without any discussion, so rules are broken at times.)

Nathan looks miserable. His fever is up to 102 and he just had that sick, pathetic look on his face. He is laying on the couch all covered up with a blanket (with only underwear on under the blankets of course ) and watching Krypto the Superdog.

I gave him some Tylenol since it was not quite yet time for his next dose of Motrin. I hope he gets better soon. I hate it when my babies are sick.

Becka - I hope he feels better soon!!!

My DS left school early b/c he said he wasnt feeling good...the mom instincts raised....here some kids told him the costume his mom made (Remember the lion episode) was "stupid" and that hurt his feelings. Soooo....we had to sit down and understand that kids do mean things. I asked him if he liked the costume and he said it was great. I told him it wouldn't hurt my feelings if he didn't wear it. (one of these days I'll post a picture)....


...but hang in there Becka. You've been thru so much latesly. Wish we lived closer....I'd bring some soup over for him and a bottle of Margaritas for you!!!

I think I am going to take either a bottle of Capt. Morgan or a bottle of amarretto with me on board. I will just mix my own capt or amarretto and coke. I know that is being cheap...but I enjoy a few mixers on vacation...but this way they will be really cheap!

Me too!! I did start using the sensodyne toothpaste a few days ago, so that helps! I just keep reminding myself - it's just for a week, I can handle it right??

Thanks! So far he is being really sweet. He made some kind of comment along this lines of "you always take good care of me"... That made me feel better. I know I am not the best Mom but I think I do pretty well in the baby-ing when they are sick department.

Sorry that I didn't post sooner. I have been going around here like a zombie. I took DD to the doctor at 8:30 & was taken right back. The doctor says that she has a virus that is going around now causing URIs & GI track problems. It can last for up to 2 weeks and wont start getting better for another 5 - 6 days or so. I guess that I looked despirate enough that he gave me an RX for a strong cough med so that we can all get some sleep. I have been trying to clean up and now the kids will be home soon. Carnitas will be for dinner. I ran to the store to pick up a few things to finish that up. I'll be online later. Only up to midnight so it looks like it will take a bit for me to catch up.

We don't need to meet in the cabins. I say we turn the Deck 6 forward elevator lobby into our own personal little club. We can bring out some chairs and just have a good time!

Karen - I hope your DS feels better soon. That really stinks that the other kids are being so mean about the costume.

Hey!
The "educational trip" requests were approved for both girls! Actually, our district is still pretty nice about trips. Only 5 days will be approved, but, basically, if you fill out the very short form, you will be approved for excused vacation. DD13 will get more work, of course, and will have to check online for additional assignments once in a while. DD8 will have to do a trip journal and share it with the principal after the trip! So watch what you say/do to Hannah ... it might go in the report to the principal !
