But I'm afraid to...
ignorance is bliss...
the teachers would've said - oh they can go, but it'll be unexcused! - or something right??

it was weird - I'm a grown woman, a mom even - but I was so nervous, felt like I was going to the principal's office for the kids conferences last week!!

Just call anonymously... don't identify yourself or use your own phone ... just ask in general about the procedure if one wanted to pull kids out for a trip...

I love the older country stuff. But then I'm older country stuff so that seems right. :lmao: :rotfl2:
Have you guys heard Little Big Town? They came to our local fair - some friends (going on the cruise) invited us to go with them. I am soooo glad they did. I'm not a huge country fan, but I really like this group - so much that I bought one of their cd's - and I've actually listened to it over and over and over (unusual for me). Their story is facinating, too - they have a website.

I just checked the Gators Basketball schedule...no games from 12/6 through 12/16, they must have known we would be on vacation.

V - Do you get the wine packages?

not usually....although I have been thinking about it. DH just doesn't drink wine all that much. We usually get a bottle at Palo and he'll have a little bit --

And that will be what year?? We will have to talk about our trip after we return also you know! :surfweb:

I sincerely hope that we do. This thread has been great for me. Like Lisa said I will want to know about the kids and the friends I have made in the last two years. :grouphug:

Yes,, for those who have lost loved ones; You have my deepest understanding and sympathy. My Dad also passed away from Cancer. It was a long and painful journey for him. I held his hand as he passed on. My Mom died a year later, of a broken heart. ('96 &'97) We haved lost 10 loved ones, aunts, uncles, GPs, in the last 4 years. And Angie's Dad passed on in July of this year.

:grouphug:
so sorry!!
3 of the ladies in our group lost their fathers in the last couple of months, too. It's tough!

Here's the skinny on the sangria:
(from a TR)
"I did enjoy that we all had Sangria to share but I was a bit disappointed in it overall. First they did charge me 2X the corkage fee because it was two separate bottles in order to have enough for everyone. Second, I had gotten the idea from a DIS TR and the poster had said that the Sangria was very good with lots of cherries and fruit. Ours had NO cherries, just bits of apple and orange zest. I did not taste any sprite in it either. I think they only added some juice so it was not very sweet or bubbly. Also when Renato served it he confused my tablemates when he did not explain that someone at the table provided it. He started trying to explain about the corkage fee and ended up making people think that it was $13.00 per glass-Yikes!"

Think I'll pass on trying to do that!
oy- sounds like a disaster!

Obviously the Heels did not check with Brack, ruley and me. Games on the 9th and the 16th (High Point and UNC Asheville).

OK - will do that tomorrow popcorn::

Any of you frequent cruisers have a wine price list? (Not the package) Even just a general guess of range of prices per bottle?

Its very rough - mom passed Jan 8 2005 and I have been feeling down the last few days thnking about how the holidays were that year. My dad, who I have never get emotional, was a wreck...I think we were more concerned about him then how WE felt.

I am still fairly young and have only lost a few people that I was close to....my grandfather died in the house that was in the family for years...my mom passed in the same house, same room...(both of cancer). My other GF (actually a step-grandfather- but raised as a GF) died of a heart attack while I was away at college - the odd thing was, I "felt" him go...the last week of school before the summer, I felt really depressed one day and couldn't figure out why...my mom said he passed that day (she didn't tell me until she came to get me from school...all I could say was - "I know...")

I only have one grandparent still alove, shes in her 80's...but HER mother is still alive and very active. Which reminds me, DW!! We need to call her and get her pot pie recipe asap...I've already lost mom's mac&cheese recipe and can't afford to lose the Pot Pie, no way. No crust involved...

Here is one from AP that is posted on the CastawayClub website. I was just looking at it. I really love that Iron Horse Brut, Fairy Tale Cuvee sparkling wine they have.

the cheapest bottle of wine is around $24, beer I can't remember not more than $5 for Bud I don't think. The mixed special drinks at dinner are $4.95 (the ones on the menu)

The wine package, I priced it, is a pretty good deal overall.

Here is the wine package details from the same site.

And I want to know why those folks over on the "Pet Peeves" thread don't understand that. More than 2 had said "kids running and screaming in the halls." For Pete's sake it's a Disney Cruise, they are excited, they are children. Excited little children streaking the halls and squealing with joy should not be an irritant!

Are you sure that they were not talking about adults like me running and screaming in the halls. I usually am taking out some of the kids because they are so slow! :moped:
