I have started packing, my box to ship is almost ready to go just waiting on a couple more things, then I have to stuff it all into one!
One of the girls is zipped and ready to go although Haley keeps dragging it around the house.

My DMom just called me. My brother was bit by a tic the other day. Last night he showed it to us and I told him to call his doctor because I thought it looked like lyme's disease. He went to the Dr. today. They are treating it like lyme's. He will take anitbotics for 3 weeks then get a blood test. I pray it isn't lymes...but it really looks like it is. Now I need to find out what happens to your body if you have it. :guilty:
I think if you get the antibiotic treatment you will be fine.

So, who has started packing?!?
ME!
Well, sorta - pre-packing....thinking about what to pack.
Got the boys to try on clothes and bought the dress clothes they would need.
Organized each evening's attire so that we sorta coordinate for pix.
Took clothes to the cleaners yesterday. When DH got home, he saw his sportscoat bag was moved and asked 'Are you gonna make me wear that brown jacket?' I said innocently 'You don't like it?' He says 'It's ok,I'll wear it', and I'm thinking - You're darn right you will, and you will like it, too!! I mean, hey, I already told him he didn't have to rent a tux, what more does he want????? :lmao:

How many bags are people taking? rolling coolers?? (i've about decided to nix this idea) I tend to overpack, I see it coming in a big way. I got extra suitcases from MIL to loan our friends...hopefully I won't need them instead!! LOL

Nathan looks miserable. His fever is up to 102 and he just had that sick, pathetic look on his face. He is laying on the couch all covered up with a blanket (with only underwear on under the blankets of course ;) ) and watching Krypto the Superdog.

I gave him some Tylenol since it was not quite yet time for his next dose of Motrin. I hope he gets better soon. I hate it when my babies are sick.
:grouphug: for Nathan! Give that to him, Becka.

I can't read the packing lists anymore. My overpacking-itis starts to rear its ugly head! :rotfl2:

Hi guys,

I was on this thread a day or so ago, and many of you don't really know me as I haven't really registered with the group or anything. (We are laying low!) I need your help though, as a fellow cruiser!

Our school is new -- private -- small. The school council is a mess, with a few roque women who just sort of plan things without any democratic authority.

This is driving me nuts, and chasing many people away. I have offered to work to write the bylaws, which I think will help, as we can really lay down some guidelines so it's more democratic. I've formed a committee and we plan to get to work after Christmas.

This is where I need your help!

How do your PTA/ School councils work? In particular what is the structure? Do the committees report on the council meeting what they are doing, and then the council votes, or is the committee allowed to make decisions unilaterally?

Who sits on the council?

Do you require time served?

Do all committees hold elections as to who will chair it, or do people just volunteer to chair?

Does your fundraising committee have say over how funds are spent?

Etc, etc. Etc.

I'd love to hear your feedback!

You will get some great info here, several posters have been on and/or helped out their school PTA/O groups.

Not fun. We have lots of woods/deer around our house....I'm always checking the boys for ticks. Have found several, too. I hate, hate, hate ticks! Hope your the antibiotics work for your brother!
DGS got a tick at DL once!! Rode Matterhorn Bobsled and after he got of there was a tick just starting to embed in his leg. We went to first aid and the nurse removed it. Said it was a first for her there. We thought someone must have brought it in on pant leg from a campground or something. Weird!

I have way too many bags. So far I am planning on a large rolling duffel, medium rolling duffel, small duffel, 2 smaller rolling bags and a carryon day bag. Plus two backpacks for the kids. After I started packing this weekend I think I am also going to need another suitcase. :sad2:

ETA: I also have a garmet bag and a toiletry bag...how did I forget! I am in such trouble!!!!

Well after making everyone's buttons this weekend/week....my DH and DSs have heard the stories....some they chuckled, some they laughed at...some they stared at me.

It was a riot reliving all the good time.s
I cannot wait to see them all! What a hoot!!

I get into bag trouble when I go smaller vs. larger. Then the "one more bag" mentality starts to creep in.

Took larger bags on the Panama Canal cruise.....seemed to work, but still had too many. This would be a Christmas gift for DH.....to have fewer bags on this trip! Seriously. He would be over-the-moon thrilled. I must try. :rotfl:

Large Duffel/suitcase
Hanging bag for us
Hanging bag for the girls
rolling suitcase for each of the girls
large bag for toiletries/makeup etc
backpack

that all I plan to bring....we'll see!

off to neverland, I missed your question earlier. Our PTO bylaws were revised just a few years ago by a committee. It was a long process, but we realized that "ignoring" some bylaws is not OK either.
Quick answers:
President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer (sometimes any of these jobs are split so there are Co-Treasurers, for example)

more... (don't want to hear from PostyQueen!)

Allie is like that. It is nice not to have to fight her but I worry about her getting into the medicine cabinet as well. This morning when I gave DS his medicine she was hovering around begging for some of her own and she kept trying to steal it. She has had a runny nose so I dosed her up some Dimetapp and she was as happy as can be. I have very strange children....they must get it from their Dad! ;) :rotfl2:
Let's see....they both get it from their Dad....one loves it, one fights it and even throws up, but they both get it from Dad. :confused3

You know, it's probably best to just forget it like Lisa suggested. That really is not what these boards are about.
