I have to share an e-mail I just received....Brack...this is for you and Annette!

A minister was completing a
Temperance sermon. With great emphasis he said, "If I
had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the
river."

With even greater emphasis he said, "And if I had
all the wine in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river."
And then finally, shaking his fist in the air, he
said, "And if I had all the whiskey in the world,
I'd take it and pour it into the river."

Sermon complete, he sat down.

The song leader stood very cautiously and announced

with a smile, nearly laughing, "For our closing song,

let us sing Hymn #365, "Shall We Gather at the River."

Smile, life is too short not to !!
If this brightened your day
Don't let it stop here
Pass it on with a smile
Keep spreading the Cheer.
See you at the river

They are calling for flooding...what a major pain! It is raining right now....they say tomorrow will be really bad.

Update on DS:

We took $5 out of his bank and went to the craft store where he picked out a very big pretty pink flower. It also had a little smaller pink flower attached to the same stem. DS made the comment that now she would have two flowers. He really did seem to feel sorry and it took him a while to pick out the flower he wanted. He seemed to be putting some thought into it although he was a little upset that they did not have the "exact" flower he tore up. I will take all of this as a good sign that he understands what he did was wrong and that he really was mean to this little girl. He will give it to her tomorrow morning when he gets to school. It costs him $2.68 - not a whole lot of money but I think just the act of taking his money to pay for it will make an impression on him.

I'm glad he got the "lesson." Believe me Becka, and I'm sure Brack and Angie can verify even better, this is just the beginning!

I remember DOS very well. I may be one of the few people who can still maneuver in the DOS environment. I have even used it at least once this year.

Yes, I agree that Apple started the "Windows" look and Microsoft has a long history of taking other people's ideas to make their own products (MSDOS for one).

What I was referring to was the fact that the "Innovator" has to stoop to using their ability to run Windows to sell their product. Their new ads play like some of the political ads of this election; putting the competitor down not building themselves up.

The "best" product has not always become the industry standard (remember the Beta videotape machines?) and Windows may not be perfect but it is very good.

Apple should stick to what they sell best .... iPods! (innocently trying to pick on you here)

The irony was not missed.

DOS! Yuck!! :faint:

wow Lisa - is every male rule a #1?

I've had some very bad news tonight. One of my dearest friends lost her younger brother in an accident last week. I only found out tonight. Very very sad. I just called and left her a message. I feel terrible.

That's shocking and terrible V. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

That is cool!!! Does she even ever get the melody??? :rotfl: ( I am bad...I know!)

Actually this spring we are doing a Disney concert!!! It will be so much fun!

Maybe we need to make a trip up there to see it! :thumbsup2

DDs' dance is very into Disney. Most of their songs are Disney. Their two main teachers (sisters) are in WDW this week! And every year they have a Disney trip where they get to dance in WDW. We don't go because I think it is way too much money ($1000 PP), but I hear it is a lot of fun!

We have her just using it for naps and bedtime here at home and she does not use it at daycare at all so that is progress but I am such a wimp when it comes to the nighttime battle. I know it will be bad and I really have not tried very hard because I am not sure I have the strength just yet.

We will probably transition her to a real bed around Christmas so I am thinking when that happens maybe I will tell her that the binky can't go in the big girl bed. Think she will buy it? :rotfl:

I got really lucky with the pacifier (my kids called it a nummy-num which came from the oldest cousin :rotfl: ). Sarah didn't have anything, but Amanda LOVED hers! She always had two ro three with her when she went to bed. By 1 and a half, I think, she could only have them at bedtime. You never saw a kid loving to go to bed or take a nap so much! Anyway, one night my niece was babysitting and couldn't find them when she put her to bed. She did get to sleep without a problem. Of course I found them, but I didn't tell Amanda! For about a month she would tell me to look for them when I put her to bed, but she slept fine. I can't remember what happened with Dina.

Well it is late and it looks like the Missouri Senate race is not going to be decided until very late tonight so I am not staying up.

I hope everyone has a great night!

Heck, it's past 2 and it's not decided yet.
