Yes leave time and have a map with you.....

Two weeks ago when i had that doc appt in Baltimore...I ignored that rule and we were stuck up on 70 because i wasn't sure where the local roads would dump out......

All it takes is one idiot that doesn't want to go to work....

This is why when we leave for the cruise it will be between 3AM and 4AM. We have two beltways to go around (Baltimore & DC) and you do not want to be on either one when some "idiot" decides to not go to work!

Uhm well I admit here that I spent a bit of money at the Hallmark store. I was in there for a bit from the time I left the library (2:30)and drove there until 6P. DH dropped DD off at 4P and she was in there with me from 4-a little before 6P when we left to go to dinner together. I honestly didn't realize that i was in there that long. Ok, that is not completely a true statement. When all of the sales assosciates comment "Are you still here?" you understand you have been there longer than 1 hour

I was going to go back tomorrow and get the Ariel ornament but I checked Hallmark online and instead of singing (its got a button on the side) she sighs and talks about how hot Prince Eric looks. Ariel Ornament That annoyed me, so I can't purchase it now. Couldn't they just have her sing. At least then it is about her. Yeah I know its when she is on the rock and she does see him but she sings then too.

Ah well. I got the next series in the music box ornament instead.

That does sound annoying! But 3 hours in the Hallmark store? Wow!!

can someone tell me the name of the other meal planning service that has been mentioned - not Let's Dish. I wanted to see if there were any others within driving distance for me.

thanks.

elaine

I was at Let's Dish this afternoon. Went with a friend and made 7 meals for my family, 7 for a friend who just had twins, and 2 for my friend with the sick baby in hospital. I LOVE that place! The other places I have heard of are:

SupperThyme
Dream Dinners
Super Suppers
Mix It Up Meals

This is due to her "craftiness" although she says carving pumpkins is not "being crafty."

those pumpkins are great!!

Alright I am caught up and it only took a little over an hour! What a slow weekend so far.

This is what I get from the DING

A communication error has occured. Please check your internet connection and click "retry" to attempt to connect.

:sad2:

If you have a firewall installed (you should...) it may be blockng it. You have to find a way to tell the program that DING is not a bad thing trying to hurt your computer and it should allow it to connect. We are using Zone Alarm and it blocked it; we added Zone Alarm to the list of safe programs that are allowed but it still gave us a problem. I need to look into it some more but that sounds like the problem.

You mean people don't eat red beet eggs everywhere???? They are a picnic staple around here!

Dear, we need to move that 5-year plan to a one year plan....I miss the pickled eggs and pot pie..... :guilty:

We had a very good weekend retreat in spite of the rain and cold Friday. Then the cold and wind yesterday and today.

The retreat was for church members from MD and WV who have expressed an interest in becoming ministers in The Salvation Army. Our buzz word is: "called" or "calling". I'm not sure how that translates to other churches.

Deviled Eggs :thumbsup2

Pickled Eggs :worried:

In a saucepan bring beets, vinegar, and sugar to a boil. Remove from heat. Peel eggs. Add eggs to beet mixture when still hot. Cool and refrigerate several hours or overnight. Serve.

elaineteresa said:
So you add the eggs whole and surround them with the beets? or you mash the eggs into the beets? or you slice the eggs?

just curious about the correct way to serve.

elaine

We always had them served in a big pickle jar with beets (sliced) and eggs (whole) all floating in the pickled juice (purple juice). Very picnicky!

I was the speaker during the meeting last night.

At camp all I normally do is run the sound and Powerpoint so this was really a neat thing for a change.

I think the whole weekend went very well.

OK it's time to quit and do something else because I am quoting myself again!

Later!

I love you guys and i just need to share at the moment....

DD needed shoes for her halloween costume.

We settled on getting tan jazz shoes. I found a pair on ebay that cost less then $10 even with shipping....

The seller said they only mail out on Tuesdays with Priority mail...
OK that was fine...
The auction ended last monday...I paid with Paypal that day....

Friday came...still no package.. So i sent an email through ebay.

She didn't respond to me but today i got a notice through my paypal account that the seller will be shipping through USPS. When i put the tracking number into their website...it shows that the item isn't even shipped yet.

I'm so mad..... If i would have know the ebayer was a slacker on their shipping i wouldn't have paid for the shoes....

Oh she won't have 100% feedback for long.....

OK Here it is the post(s) you have all been waiting for ;)....Becka's Family goes to the Zoo! :thumbsup2

The day started way too early when my alarm went off a little before 6 AM. We wanted to be on the road by 7 AM but this is our family so of course it was 8 AM before we actually were in the car. :sad2: The drive to St. Louis is about 2 hours so we all settled in for the drive. DH hooked our new car DVD player up and the kids watched The Little Mermaid.

What exactly is this "zoo" thing everyone is talking about?
ec504675.jpg

We made good time and we at the zoo a little after 10 AM and the wait just to get in the parking lot was 20 minutes. I think we underestimated the popularity of Boo at the Zoo. We finally made it in to the zoo and after an obligatory bathroom break we went off in search of Lions and Tiger and Bears Oh My!

The bathroom was nice Mom....is that all there is at the zoo?
ec504677.jpg

We first headed to the "The Wild" section of the park in search of the elusive elephants (or elfunts as DD likes to call them).

Look Mom....elfunts!
ec504678.jpg

Hey Dad...why did you let Mom buy me this silly hat?
ec504676.jpg

Becka,

Those are so cute!! The first picture looks like it should have a caption "Go ahead, make my day, try and take the frog away."

Oh, a Stephen King fan....I read some of his stuff...ever read the Bachman Books?

I liked the books by "bauchman" better than Steven King. I especially love the short stories.
