....What software programs do you run on your PC?.....

Microsoft Office, Spysweeper, Norton Antivirus.....not much else. Pretty basic, bare-to-the-bones stuff.

Thanks for all the Mac info! I'm going to go check their site now.

Night everyone! :wave2:

Football isn't exactly a wimpy sport. If you allow your child to play, then you accept the possibility that they are going to be hurt....

Exactly ..... the only way to avoid any injury during sports is to not ever play.

There are two dining managers in each dining room. They are in charge of everything that happens there. If you want to have your rotation changed or request a certain server, that is who you go see at the Palo resie place. They are usually at the front of the dining room directing traffic. If they did something special for you regarding special dietary restriction help or made a change in seating for you while on the cruise, that is the time you would offer a tip.

So you do not tip the dining manager unless they specifically do something for you? :confused3 I have to look over the suggested tipping again.

So, the first vote is in for Mac.

I will weigh in this as well. I have always been a PC person. It is the dominate platform and will do everything you need to do.

That is the head server. Next in line is your server and assistant server. The head server handles special requests like cakes and diffuses any issues between the servers and in the kitchen. If you don't see them, they are doing their job. You do go to them first if there is a problem. Their boss is the dining manager.

Ah, ok. I knew there were 4 people you're supposed to tip, I got the dining manager confused with the head server.

gotta go. I have less than 1 hour to get to Target and back. Target is like the DIS for me a real flux int eh space time continuum. I go in there for what I think is 1 hour and DH says I've been gone for 3.

He reminded me Heroes is on. Can't miss it. Dr/Ms Jekyl/Hyde appears dead by her DH the guy who can walk through walls.

Well, where ever we finally decide on, you HAVE to be part of the township because we really need a Sunday School teacher to say nothing of the school. ;)
Well there you go...making me feel wanted. Thanks Angie

Hey there Brandi - I'm reading Sunday night now. Congrats!!!! I am SO thrilled for you!

Sorry to say Hi and run but gotta go.....

Never had a problem in any hotel. I expect the same on the Magic, but since this is my first cruise, I'll have to let you know on that.

My DW and I are on the road a lot (just got back) and we do not have trouble getting access in hotels with our PC laptops.

So who is the dining manager and how/why would you tip him/her? :confused3
On our last 2 cruises we never saw the head server until the last night! It annoyed me. He did not come around 1 time!!!

Well, I am lost with all the techie posts so I will just watch the CMAs until we get back to the regular cruise talk. :)

O.K. then, this is good! As I'm completely confused now as to what to get.

What I had: Toshiba Qosmio.

Did not like: Waaaaay too many bells/whistles.

What I need it to do: DISing (have to keep the priorities straight), sending/checking emails, sending/storing pics, basic word processing.

What should I buy? :confused3

(Keep in mind, it has to be either in a BB store or ordered from their website).

If you go Mac, then ...
MacBook SKU: 7865474, and Office 2004 for Mac (e-mail, word processing) SKU: 6623193. Maybe Parallels for Mac SKU: 8009166 (to run windows and windows programs.)

Drat! I just found out that the AVG virus program will no longer be available after 1/15/07. :( :( :( That is what we have always used. I hate the thought of having to pay for an anit-virus program but it has done so well. BUMMER! Add to that the fact that our email will be changing due to suddenlink buying out cox and now I am trying to decide if I want to switch to embarq DSL and save $15 a month. As long as I have to switch a gazillion accounts with the email set up I may as well do it to one that will save us money. ACK!!!!!
My DH just told me that AVG free version 7.5 is available and is free still. you just need to download & install. he is running it on our 3 computers with no problem. version 7.1 will no longer be available after jan 2007. I run the professional version at my office and have not had any problems with it. it actually has caught more than either of the other 2 combined.

Tomorrow my son has Preschool snack. I let him pick what he wants to take. He chose cheese and crackers and animal crackers...whatever. I need to cut up the cheese tonight. They are also making a family tree. I need to get him a few pics of our family.

Thank you! I will check for that version on their site. The link that came up with the warning just showed the 29.99 version. :rolleyes1
