Chunky See, Chunky Do! A Chunky Family TR - June 2025 Updated 10/7 - Alaska/Cali Pics and Day 3 Update!!

The Most Magical Pixie-Dusted Extra Chunky Funty and Funcle Day! Part 2

When we left off, we had just finished our time in DHS and were now on our way to Epcot! The day had been so much fun so far, but it was hot and very draining so we decided to have a late lunch/early dinner at Biergarten where I made same day dining ressies.

We took the skyliner to Epcot and I think some of the adults caught a few ZZZZs on the ride over (I might have too as I have no pictures on the skyliner haha).

As soon as we entered the park, CS made a beeline for Daisy. (of course lol)

AP1GczN1Nf-xu7xMJsdtBSkshAxuzZ393BfT_t4obrQPndXqUFmbq0CTWaR0nqMUmp5Yb-eD_Y3BEzvVTIOfDK9AnZ4IdD_yex2kQj5ZHS6eCKupTVb0bQ3K59kU7i-honfeMCh6zcgLNfpn-STiGB8iaK-Uiw=w533-h947-s-no-gm

Some of the adults got some libations on the way to Biergarten but it was a hot day and the lines were very long at the booths, especially at France. But eventually we all made it to Biergarten. It was everyone’s first time there (except for me and Steve)

We were all hungry and tired so the cool air was really nice and we dug into the buffet. Sienna LOVED the mac n cheese lol, and the adults liked the German/Austrian wines and beers.

The kids thought the show was funny and laughed a lot. It’s fun to see these familiar experiences through their fresh eyes!

After our very filling meal, we waddled out back into the heat. Because we needed time to digest, Steve and I took the kids on Frozen. They enjoyed this a lot and thought the animatronics were fun!

Waiting in the lightening lane for Frozen:

We took a nice slow walk to Guardians so we had some additional time to digest. They had to stop at the cooling stations though since the walk is pretty brutal in the heat.

Now it was time for Guardians! The kids were so excited, even Bryan, who doesn’t always love this ride, because he gets dizzy sometimes, was really pumped up! I think he just really likes to skip the lines hahaha. He wanted to ride with me, and the two older girls were together and Funcle Steve with Sienna.

We got conga, which is not my favorite song on this ride. I really like I Ran because I think it fits the tempo well. EWTRTW is actually my favorite song of the bunch but it makes be a bit loopy because the pace to me doesn’t match the ride and my brain is confused, haha. But really any day with a ride on Guardians is a great day! I do wish there is an option to skip the pre-shows and the terrible bottleneck in the queue. What is you favorite song on Guardians?

The kids loved Guardians!!! Even Sienna, who was a little scared at first and she closed her eyes on the beginning of the ride, but said it was nothing!

Meanwhile, the rest of the adults went to take some pictures and did some shopping, most likely because they weren’t able to get anything worthwhile on the multipass or they were just tired at this point, haha. CS definitely took advantage of the Character Spot!

After Guardians we had to make a beeline to the exit as we wanted to hit up rides in MK before park closing. We bused it over to MK and our first ride was Tron!

While waiting I made some multipass ressies for the other adults and managed to find them the Barnstormer and Buzz Lightyear LOL.

The kids had so much fun on Tron. Sienna loved it!! So much so that we went again! The first time Sienna closed her eyes of course, but the second time they were open!!

So Bryan asked if he could ride a THIRD time, and although that was possible I reminded him that maybe he might want to try 7DMT and maybe Space Mountain which he loved the day before but I left it up to him. We were cutting it close to park closing so we could only do one perhaps two more rides. He thought for a bit and agreed he wanted to try different things after all so off to Mine Train we go since we didn’t get to do that one yet.

So in my first family TR, I traumatized Eva by bringing her on her first roller coaster when she was 6. We all thought the ride pic was hilarious so we tried our best to recreate it on this trip!

Hahaha. It’s a good thing she loves the ride now and I’m still a cool funty!!

After 7DMT we still had time so we dashed over to Space Mountain and rode our last ride of the night before park closing.

Space Mountain again!

I daresay I can’t believe I rode this ride again hahaha, my poor spine.

And that was the end of Funty and Funcle Day! It was an AMAZING day, the kids had so much fun. Never in their wildest dreams did they think they were able to ride all the S Tier rides in one day also multiple times! They were truly spoiled today, and felt like complete VIPs. Thank you to my friends who gifted us these passes, the kids still talk about their “magical” day. #chunkydusted

:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

I think this is one of the very very few times I have hit 30k steps in one day.
We were so exhausted!!

Now, how do we top the
Most Magical Pixie-Dusted Extra Chunky Funty and Funcle Day?

We have a VIP Tour! The next day!

Coming soon…

What a fun day and one they won't soon forget! Lucky kids!

I just went on Guardian's twice last week and got I Ran both times! It's my second favorite after September...I also think EWTRTW is the worst for the ride although I like the song normally :thumbsup2

What a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That would be so a dream come true to ride any ride and as many times as you want. I love your trip report and this is certainly what dreams are made of!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad to see your new trip report. :) Your trip looks like it was amazing! We were at WDW in June, too, but a little earlier in the month. The heat was horrible!

The kids are adorable. :) They must have been thrilled with your unlimited fast pass day!

What a fun day for all of you! Amazing to ride all the best rides in one day!
The only song we haven’t had is September! Conga is my least favorite 🤩

Thanks Kelly! It will be a day forever remembered. Although the kids are quite spoiled now and it was hard adjusting to "nornal" Disney queues lol.

Yay for I Ran! I remember during the preview days and early days of the ride we got I Ran a lot but lately we've been hearing everything BUT I Ran lol, I miss it!

Thank you so much!! This is definitely What Dreams Are Made Of!!!!
We are very grateful yet very spoiled lol. Adjusting to a regular Disney day was not easy :rotfl:

Hi Caroline! We had such a great time! The kids still talk about that crazy fastpass day!
I think September is my second favorite after I Ran. Glad to hear the consensus on Conga lol.

Joining in! I haven't seen a chunky TR in forever, happy to see you back here! I think a lot of us "old timers" took a long break from the DIS but I see lots of familiar names starting to pop up again :goodvibes

Wow, what a day! I'd love to be your niece! :rotfl: You've got some great friends to get you those types of perks!

And now a VIP tour...this is one unforgettable trip  Looking forward to reading more!

Hi Everyone! Sorry, I didn't mean to neglect this TR. We got back from a 3-week trip to Vancouver, Alaska and California and it's taken a while to adjust back to normal! Our Alaskan cruise on the Disney Wonder was nothing short of amazing! It was definitely a bucket list item checked off. We've been talking about doing Alaska for years and it finally happened!

We even got to go to a Dodgers game! (Although for the record, I originally and always will be a NYY fan, but the Dodgers were originally from Brooklyn, right? LOL) We just really like and respect this team and are huge fans of Shohei Ohtani so we were lucky enough to be there on Shohei's bobblehead night!

Day 3 : Kevin!!!!!

The next day was definitely a bit of a sleep-in day after our super long but crazy fun epic day before. Our legs were hurting! We still had another completely full day though, as we had scheduled a VIP tour today! This tour was gifted so we are once again eternally grateful for all the pixie dust we have received. #chunkydusted

:wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:

So the idea was to start the tour in Studios and go to Epcot then MK. Four parks would have been a little tough to squish into one tour and we already did what we wanted to do in AK the day before anyways. We will end the tour with a viewing of HEA. It sounded like a fantastic day already!

We definitely wanted to get some sustenance before the tour as we didn’t want to waste precious tour time eating, so I scheduled a lunch at Woody’s Roundup Rodeo, which we went to in 2023 and really enjoyed, in fact it was one of the kids top requests for the trip. (Mostly for the unlimited mac n cheese for Sienna, and the ribs, which Eva loves, lol)

So we got up later that morning, had a bit of a rest and coffee from Barcelona Lounge. I also picked up some cookies at bell services which our travel agent had delivered to us. They were Mickey shaped, so cute! We took our time getting ready, and then we all met up at the bus stop to DHS.

1759888732694.png

Of course having a late start to the day doesn’t apply to CS as she was already at DHS when we arrived later in the morning, and had already completed a set of photopass pics with various characters.

1759888732759.png 1759888732801.png

1759888732878.png

We didn’t want to miss out on the characters either so took some pics with Chip n Dale - they are so cute!

1759888732954.png

1759888733014.png

We headed over to Woody’s for our lunch - there were quite a few parties there waiting already - this place is popular!

1759888733085.png

1759888733147.png

Pretty soon we were called to our table, and we managed to get a nice long table for our group.
Sorry the pics are not great as the lightning was all…blue. But I can assure you the food was not blue and was actually very good. Big thumbs up from the kids and adults alike! You pay a set price and they pretty much keep giving you food until you say stop, LOL.

So as we were concluding lunch, Steve, who will NOT be joining us on the tour, said he will probably head back to the resort after lunch to get in some pool time. A tour only fits 10 people and we had a party of 11. Steve immediately volunteered to not go on the tour lol, because he has already done a couple of tours before, and he definitely was looking forward to not walking another 20k steps after walking 30k the day before. I admit I was a little jealous of his downtime, LOL.

So Kevin said: “Well Steve since you are heading back, do you mind taking these ponchos with you? I don’t think we will need them today.”

(Forboding music plays)

:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Steve: “You sure? This is Florida, it could rain at any time.”
Kevin: “We’ve been fine, I’ve been carrying 4 ponchos for two days and it hasn’t rained.”
Me (who is very superstitious): “Kevin, it hasn’t rained BECAUSE you’ve been carrying the ponchos”
Kevin (announces to the table): “It’s ok, if it does rain, I give you all permission to blame me!”
Everyone: (gives Kevin a look, like are you serious?)

(you see where this is going, right?)

So Kevin gives Steve a stack of unused, brand new ponchos to take back to the hotel.

After our very filling lunch we had a bit of time to digest so we hung out in the air conditioning at the Disney Jr Dance party area. I had never been inside here, but it was very spacious. They were lots of lively Disney channel music and there were kids dancing and then characters came out too! I saw Timon, Mickey, and Fancy Nancy. I think this area is being refashioned into something else with the whole DHS construction, I don’t actually remember what it will become though. Bryan and Sienna loved the hula hoops!

AP1GczM6auNcNbg6XohowpTXWJqy_4rn0PSe-1N11iSJwUJPx0Z6dnPyY4UFwkg-jqW4E12Z7NOIudxr59QmeKifLl0hlnnpSF2orr1eWbUMZ-1O8rWHVb67fDMTmfEy_XEtins9xVFIUhE1IxUXumLYdfB-kg=w270-h480-s-no-gm

Our meeting point at 2pm for our tour was the area in DHS where they had the Mickey and Minnie Vacation movie. Where the Potatoland photo op is lol.

Kevin: “Look, it’s still sunny!”
Everyone: (gives Kevin another "are you serious?" look)

We met our guide, Annie, who is the sweetest! She was young and so friendly and cute.
We immediately started by heading over to Rise as it wasn’t down, yay!

As soon as we got off rise, it’s raining.

Kevin: It’s not that bad!

Ok for the record, it was just a drizzle at this point, but we decided to head into Smugglers just in case. Eva and Bryan piloted the Falcon and we rescued two canisters of coaxium, whew!

When we came out of Smugglers, it had stopped raining.

Kevin: “Look, it stopped raining!”
Everyone: “Stop jinxing us Kevin!”

Now we headed to Toy Story where we were able to do Slinky twice. Thank goodness the weather held up!

Now as we were walking out of Toy Story Land, here’s where everyone came down…like literally came tumbling down.

The skies opened up and it went from “It stopped raining” to Torrential Deluge.

:umbrella::umbrella::umbrella::umbrella::umbrella::umbrella::umbrella::umbrella::umbrella:

Everyone:

giphy.gif

:faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint::faint:

Annie, our sweet guide, handed out a stack of unused, brand new ponchos.

Everyone: “Oh look Kevin, these look like the ponchos you gave Steve to take back”
Kevin: “Ok I know I know you can blame me for the weather”
Everyone: “We do”

:sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2:

We were going to head straight to Tower of Terror but instead we ran into MMRR because it was on the way and despite the ponchos we were all just getting wet, especially our shoes. The nice thing about doing this ride on the VIP tour is that we kind go through a back door straight to where the pre-show is. After a round of conga, Daisy style, we rushed over to ToT, still in the rain. Thankfully it had let up a bit but we were still trying to dodge big puddles that had accumulated during the heaviest times.

We still blame Kevin for all of it LOL

At Tower of Terror, the kids were delighted and we all watched the pre-show but then some of us took the chicken exit. (Me and Marc lol)

We then ran over to RnRC, and Bryan was describing how the ride went upside down to Sienna, who got a little anxious as she hadn’t ridden before. But after she was done she proudly proclaimed “This was nothing!!” LOL even though she did close her eyes.

We were now done with Studios! We exited backstage right near RnRC and boarded the private transport van to take us to our next park, EPCOT. We were only going to do GoTG at Epcot because we still wanted to do some rides at MK.. The rain had made us spend more time at DHS than we intended to so we wanted to ride and go!

Bryan didn’t ride GoTG the both times we went on but Annie went to get everyone some Starbucks so he was happily sipping on his pink drink when we came out.

Guardians was so fun! But we had to head over to MK. The skies were grayish and we were all worried that it would start raining again and maybe even cancel fireworks. Noooo!

So back in the van we go and we headed to MK and of course we wanted to go on Tron. We were able to enter the park near Plaza Inn and Tomorrowland Terrace and so we didn’t have to go to far to walk to Tron. We were able to go on Tron twice! It was so cute that Sienna wanted to ride Tron with our guide, Annie. Sienna is definitely one of those friendly kids who likes to talk to everyone, she is not shy! The pictures came out so cute!

This following picture is hilarious as Kevin's expression was so funny, but he said it was because he really had to use the bathroom, and the ride vehicle was not helping his situation, hahahaha.
This is what happens when you jinx all of us with the weather Kevin!!

After Tron, we decided to do Mine Train before it started raining again, and after that we headed to our last ride, Tiana’s.

This was the first time on Tiana’s for everyone except myself. I do not really like water rides, but Tiana’s is cute and it was gonna rain anyways so we were bound to get wet regardless lol. But I think everyone else was thinking they would be soaked so they all put on their ponchos for the ride. I held out until the very last minute but then bailed and also put on my poncho in case everyone else was right hahaha. It’s so funny, as we were walking up to the ride we all didnt’ want to sit in the front because that’s where you get the most wet and we all tried to switch places with each other, but finally Eva and Caylee ended up in the front lol. I think they thought we were gonna get soaked so you can see Caylee ducking down in the picture, haha.

And that was the final ride of the tour!! Annie walked us over to the VIP viewing section over in the hub in front of the castle but not before stopping to get ice cream and popcorn for us. Thanks Annie!!

We said our goodbyes to Annie and thanked her for a wonderful tour, and then Marc and Kevin went to go get us some food at Casey’s and brought it back to the viewing area, with about 5 minutes to spare before HEA began. Oh and it did start raining again at some point so we ended up watching the fireworks and eating hotdogs through the drizzle.

Still magical though!! The kids loved the fireworks like they did last time. I wish we got a group pic with our tour guide, Annie but it was just a bit chaotic with the rain and people running to use the bathroom and get food that we just missed our opportunity, but I’m glad we got that pic of her with Sienna on Tron.

And that concludes the VIP tour day! Despite the rain, everyone still had a great time (how can you not, on a VIP tour?) And the fact you get driven from park to park definitely helped a lot!

Wow two days of the kids being VIPs and two days of exhaustion for the adults lol! We still had an amazing time but next time maybe I will have to see if we can get a rest day in between. It’s just the way it worked out during the planning phase LOL.

The next day was supposed to be our last and 4th park day but I know everyone was tired at this point. We were moving over to the Waldof Astoria and so I though those days would be rest days for us, but Kevin said it would be a good idea to just do a rest day tomorrow, and then come back to the parks later in the week from the Waldorf. They didn’t mind having to commute a bit more later in the week so we did decide to move our last park day to the middle of the week rather than the day after the VIP tour.
Stay tuned for a relaxing rest day and our last day at Coronado!

I'm Su-Lynn aka Chunkymonkey - former writer of many Trip Reports here on the DIS. That's my (chubby) hubby Steve on the left. I took a little (long) break from the Disboards after Covid just because I work from home mostly nowadays and after a work day on my computer I figured I should do something rather than sit at my computer writing TRs lol. Also I've taken to Instagram stories to documenting about my travels instead, which is much more my preferred method presently :cutie:. But after our crazy trip this past June I was inspired to write another TR! (Also a bunch have you have asked if I was writing one, hahaha).
I am only onpage 2 but I am here!!! So glad you are back for at least this trip report!!!

This is Sienna with her favorite uncle, Steve! :rotfl:

I love this picture, so sweet!

I'm 49 and work in IT in a financial company in NJ. Next Feb is my milestone birthday and I have a big trip planned to Singapore to go on the Disney Adventure, DCL's newest cruse ship! [EDIT SEPTEMBER 2025: The Adventure cruise ship has been delayed and our cruises canceled - so much for our 50th B-day celebration haha. We have since rescheduled to September of 2026]
Happy early 50th!!! That will be an amazing trip regardless when. You def should do a trip report for that!!! I have been mentally preparing a 50th trip with friends in Disney! 2027!

K-pop (any BTS Army here?)
Gwen is very much into Katseye and in turn has made me into a fan by association.

've been playing Clair Obscur Expedition 33 non-stop. Anyone else?
I will have to check that out! I got all in on Animal Crossing during covid.

Their first VIP tour!
You are spoiling this children?!?!

here were still groups 3 and 4! Everyone was so annoyed but we had no choice so we all had to gate check our carry-ons. :(

But literally when we got on the plane there was so much overhead bin space, there were tons of empty bins! We were all like ?
I feel like this is just want they do know to get more people to check bags. We had the same thing happen when we went to California.

The girls decided to make a luggage fort while waiting:

Love it!

CS was FINALLY in the air and en route to Disney. She wouldn't be arriving until close to 11pm!
That turned into a LONG day!!!

Me (who is very superstitious): “Kevin, it hasn’t rained BECAUSE you’ve been carrying the ponchos”
I am totally convinced that carrying ponchos is good luck. I think I have a 98% success rate with it. :)
Our meeting point at 2pm for our tour was the area in DHS where they had the Mickey and Minnie Vacation movie. Where the Potatoland photo op is lol.
I'm surprised that your tour was at 2pm. Are there time limits to the tour? It looks like you hit all the best rides. :)
