12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

Thanks, Val! :)

Whether it's good or bad, I WILL go see it once. But from what I hear, if it's still on any of my future cruises, I think I'm likely to skip it and find something else to do at that time! popcorn::

I am the same way with the shows.. .I will give it a shot, and the next cruise, maybe or maybe not. :) there are a bunch we skipped this last time..it is fun family time for us...and Shari if you get lonely... you can join our "family craziness" anytime. :rotfl2:

I just looked up Meniere's disease..... I had soo many ear problems... I totally feel for her!!! hopefully she gets relief! tell her we are thinking about her.

Thanks, Val! :rotfl2:

Since the other two solos have "abandoned ship," I am imagining myself like a lost puppy . . but constantly in search of chipmunks! :dogdance:

Well, we've still had people joining our cruise, so maybe another solo will decide to be a Cruisin' Nut. Time will tell!

Confirmed and removed those two solos mentioned above. Gee - Looks like that makes me the ONLY solo sailor among us! Yikes!

There are just the three of us you are more than welcome to join us any time. We have late dining as well so feel free to join our table if youd like :)

Thanks, Jenn - I think Stephanie (tinkluvr12) offered as well, but don't know if it still stands after getting to know me on the thread - ROTFL. :rotfl2:

We'll see what happens before I come begging to share a dinner table with someone. But it won't be long before I WILL be asking if I am still invited, because I would be HAPPY dining with any of the Cruisin' Nuts but nervous about DCL randomly assigning me to someone's family reunion (and that DID happen to me once!).

Hey - What do you all think of the Disney Dream having only queen beds that do NOT separate? So if a room had two adults - say just friends or brother and sister - they'll be forced to share the same bed or one end up on the sofa bed? I can't imagine why they decided on this. :confused3

I hope they won't decide to put inseparable queen beds on the Magic.

I have traveled with friends before on DCL and was very glad to have the beds that divided into twin beds. I will miss that feature for sure. Now, if they could just invent screens that filter out snoring.....

On my January cruise I let my mom sleep on the queen bed while I took the sofa bed. I didn't mind except that it's further to the bathroom in the middle of the night - lol. But I did close the curtain (and pin it so it would stay together) because it made me feel more like I had my own little room. I did the same when I sailed with my grown nephew.

However, on one of my cruises I roomed with a friend who did snore. I am a VERY light sleeper so it was a problem. We slept in the separated "twin" beds. The problem is that they are MUCH too close together even when separated. I'm sure I'd have been at least a little better off on the sofa with the curtain closed. :rolleyes1

This wasn't on a cruise, but my brother and I went to the San Diego Comic Con last year and shared a hotel room. He went so far as to get earplugs. I felt embarrassed.

On a different note, I remember getting Disney mail around this time for my first cruise which was around the same time of year in '08. It had excursion information and the like. Anyone know if they're still doing that?

We just got an email about excursions etc. (our reservation is thru Dreams now, so I am not sure who sent the true email.)
pm me your address ... or send it thru Facebook, I would be happy to forward it. :goodvibes

Hi everyone,
We are not booked on this cruise right now. Shopping around right now and looking at a few different options for a honeymoon trip. Disney cruise and/or stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge are at the top of my list. The other half enjoys the cruise much more, because he gets to sleep in on vacation, lol. Was wondering if anyone has cruised this time of year before, little concerned if it's warm enough at Castaway as well as the pool on deck? We have both cruised with DCL before, but first time trying to plan a honeymoon so any input greatly appreciated. thanks ahead of time :lovestruc

Yes, I did so that means we get you first ;) We would share though-just think you could do a night with several of us. You might get sick of nuts by Wednesday! Seriously with all the connections we've discovered- some sane, some probably questionable- you would be very welcome with my family, Shari. :thumbsup2

On a ps.... :wish45:wishgoal I'm pretty proud of me!

We have cruised in January twice- one DCL one not. Both Caribbean. The days were mixed. Some very very warm and the pool felt great- some cooler and we did other things. It's kind of hard to guess the weather these days. My son and I shoveled the drive way twice post Cinco De Mayo this past spring! The nice thing about the ship is if the weather is crummy you still have SO many things to do instead. At AK if the weather is crummy you are kind of stuck. Just a thought =) Having been both places I'd rather be "stuck" on the Magic in poor weather than at AK.

Shari, you are 2 staterooms from us we DEFINITELY must get together.....its just my DD and I.

Shari, as I said join up with us we are staying in staterooms right near each other and its just my DD and I

My Dh and I did our first Disney cruise last December and the weather was perfect. The posrts were beautiful and warm. The only weather related problem I heard about was the wind being a bit strong for some excursions but I bet that happens all year long.

My DH and I also went to Disney on our honeymoon and had the time of our lives. Even though we have been back several times we also look back at our honeymoon and think of how perfect it was. Everyone comments on your "Just Married" buttons and in early December the crowds will be pretty low. (after the Thanksgiving groups clear out) And tell your DH that my husband and I relaxed our butts off on our honeymoon and we still were able to do a bunch of stuff in the parks. When crowds are low you can do a lot more in a smaller amount of time.

Hope this helps :)

This will be the first time DH and I participate in the FE program and we are trying to start purchasing items now and don't want to under or over buy items, especially if they will have a logo on them. Any suggestions on figuring it all out?:teacher:

John and I went on our honeymoon Dec 30 96 and it was 93 degrees! ( total fluke for that year... but it was really hot!) The water park was crowded and the pools got a lot of use that year!!

Went went 2 years on NYE to Disney and it was in the 70's and again the pools were busy!!

went to CC in 05 and the water was freezing!!! and the following year it was really warm......

I would personally pick a cruise..... it is more relaxing!! :) at WDW, it is go go go... ( or maybe that is my type A husband. :rotfl2:)

My plan was 6 weeks before the cruise to make a last call to participate for the F/Es. that way we have a count. ( on our last cruise, we had a few ask to be added at the last minute, and it was up to the cabin to give them a gift or not....and most of the cabins did .) so I would buy 5 extra give or take items.... for last minute add ons and in some cases.. damaged items.
does that help?

Thanks, Stephanie! I will probably take you up on that! If I do, we'd need to coordinate it with DCL to get the same table assignment & rotation. I figured I'd give it another month or so to see if we get any other solos first. That's the only reason I didn't say yes immediately, as I truly appreciate the invitation. :goodvibes

And yes, it would be great to dine with various Nuts through the week - those who would have me - lol. Only problem is that DCL doesn't do things that way. You have to stick with your assigned table. Only exception I experienced was when I was solo and the ship's forward engineer and then the cruise sales agent (who was a friend of mine) sat with me (after I left the family reunion table I'd been assigned to!).
