12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

Shari, as I said join up with us we are staying in staterooms right near each other and its just my DD and I
I'd love to, but not for dinner seating as you have Main/Early and I have Late seating (which I prefer as it is fewer young children and not quite as noisy or rushed).

But if you do any table service breakfast or lunches, I'd love to join you for that. I love dining in the restaurants instead of quick service on deck, but if I show up solo they ask when the rest of my party will be joining me! :confused3

tink---Congrats on the weight loss!!! that is awesome!! :cool1::thumbsup2

Shari: we would like to do a sitdown breakfast this cruise!! :) so we can meet up sometime!!
I am bringing a magnetic board for my door/ and my kids..across the hall...so you can leave us a message on there! or anyone else can leave us a message!

Cool! Sounds good to me! :goodvibes

I don't think I'll have a message board on my door, but any of our Nuts who want to meet up for something we haven't prearranged can feel free to call my stateroom 7626 and just leave a message if you don't reach me. :listen:

FYI: On my January cruise one of the DISers had a suite, decided to have a little reception there so called and left me a message with their room number. Problem was, they did not leave a name or say they were from the DIS, so I thought it was a wrong number and didn't go or call.

That reminded me to always give the details myself if I leave a message for anyone - name/user name, room number, that I'm on the DIS or whatever. ::yes::

Shari- we are looking forward to having you and your new picture is really cute!

Val- thanks!

I hope everyone has a great week. We have a new broken arm at our house :headache: Oh well, he had fun doing it :goodvibes I'm glad DCL doesn't allow long boards!

Take care all!

Thanks for the pic compliment, Stephanie. :)

BIRTHDAY NUTS: A page listing our Birthday Nuts can be found HERE, with a link from our News page. The reason for the as-yet-empty "Celebration Locations" column is in case those sharing a birthday decide to get together to celebrate sometime that day. Just keeping all the options open. ;)

In addition to those listed, the following (Sign up HERE, folks!) are also birthday cruisers:

coolmommy - Brian's 40th B'Day
Frankiesmom - Dominic's B'Day
Iowaswete - Morgan's 10th B'Day
Rambler5678 - Courtney's B'Day

I don't have the dates for any of those, so I'm hoping they will submit the form. If not, I'll try to PM them to see if they are still with us.

Hi everyone,
We are not booked on this cruise right now. Shopping around right now and looking at a few different options for a honeymoon trip. Disney cruise and/or stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge are at the top of my list. The other half enjoys the cruise much more, because he gets to sleep in on vacation, lol. Was wondering if anyone has cruised this time of year before, little concerned if it's warm enough at Castaway as well as the pool on deck? We have both cruised with DCL before, but first time trying to plan a honeymoon so any input greatly appreciated. thanks ahead of time :lovestruc
I've done a few early December cruises and found the weather to be mixed. On one it was everything from moderately warm to hot and humid to cool and rainy. I've seen Castaway Cay both warm and cool that time of year. With the strange weather patterns occurring everywhere, there is no way to say for certain how it will be.

I love the Magic, but love AKL about as much. But on one of my stays at AKL (same time of year) it rained pretty much non-stop for 5 days, not clearing until our check-out morning. It was my mom's first and only stay there, and she never went out on our balcony due to rain. You never know, but I'm opting for cruising again this December and next. :boat:

Thank you everyone for the input and advice--my conclusion from all of it is that we should do a few days at Animal Kingdom and then cruise, lol. Then the DH will be able to recover from the strenuous schedule I make him keep at WDW (I am that type A personality, lol) on the cruise ship. Now I just have to convince him this is the best option, unfortunately don't get to talk a whole lot right now bc he is stuck in Iraq for a couple more months. Hopefully will be able to join everyone on this cruise and on this board soon, but until we book I will be lurking. Thanks again,
Rachel

Keep on lurking. :surfweb: We're happy to have you here and hope you'll be able to join us. :)

And a bit off topic, Rachel - but is there still a Morrison's Cafeteria in Columbus?

Ooops - Never mind. I just did a wiki search and found out how they diversified. ;)

Sorry for getting so far off topic, guys.

Natalie took her first sewing class tonight and made a purple pillow with Tinkerbell edging... she is bringing it on the cruise for autographs! she loved the class!! :) Now to hunt for Mickey Mouse fabrics etc!!

We stayed at AKL, I have to say I was not impressed that much with the hotel. I thought it was too far away from the parks and busing took forever. Our first room overlooked the feeding cages, we quickly moved...I wanted a Savannah room... so if you go there.... be specific upfront about the type of room you want.

Yep. Location, location, location! I've only had Savannah view at AKL and it's been great . . as long as the weather cooperates. I mainly love AKL for the lobby and Boma and Jiko. ;)

You mentioned Tinkerbell and Mickey. What about our 'munks?

whoopss... I could I forget the Munks???
they are on my list now. :thumbsup2

I did buy a Munks lanyard while I was at MK in May! :) it is bright green..wont be able to miss me!!

Shari--- love the new profile pic!

Shari, I am actually trying to switch our dinner to late. We do the breakfasts and lunches so knock on our stateroom since we are neighbors on the ship hehehehehe......love the picture........

Cyndi - You shouldn't have any trouble at all switching to late, because there is usually a waiting list for main/early dining, due to all the young children. Have you called DCL about it?

Apparently there is only one stateroom between us, and could even be more Cruisin' Nuts because there are many who don't have their room assignment yet or didn't provide it for the list. Gee - We could probably converse from the verandah . . just kidding.

My current user pic is a favorite of mine because it was at Garden Grill at Epcot with a couple of my fave chipmunks - personal friends of mine. :ssst: But of course I had to crop out most of the 'munks to fit the pic size requirement.

Shari, what a cute picture! I just love those cute munks surrounding you....and you look so happy to be in the middle!

I'm so glad the cruise is getting closer. This will be my 5th cruise so right now I'm a silver. When should I be able to book our excursions and Palo dinner and such? What date and time can I call for this?:confused3

You can tell I have way too much time on my hands these few days - posting like crazy!

Chipmunk humor for today:

Sometimes you get respect - - -
