Nothing too exciting with me either since my "mini vacation" ended. In fact, on my birthday, since I "celebrated" it earlier in the week at WDW, I did absolutely nothing! I sat home in "bum around" clothes, didn't put on any makeup and just worked (and played) at the computer all day. I had pizza (at home) for dinner, then watched the Lifetime movie "Flirting With Forty." How exciting is that?

I really missed celebrating my (actual) birthday with Holly as I have the last few years. I consider her my best friend and it's always fun doing WDW and character dining with her, but "'tis the season" and she had to work.

Although I have a few friends who "like" Disney, those who "love it" and are not embarrassed by my sometimes crazy antics with the characters are rare indeed! Holly is a real gem!

It is nice that you found Holly to share that with!! I have some on line friends that I've been chatting with for years - but have never met - and they turned me on to Disney. So I do get to pick their brains, etc. without them rolling their eyes at me. I'm sure IRL people say "Oh no, here comes Disney-obsessed Deb, go the other way". In a nice way of course.

Your description of your birthday sounds heavenly to me. Throw in a hot (uninterupted) bath and I'd sign up asap! I taped Flirting with Forty but haven't watched it yet. I work 1/2 days on Friday - so that is my Lifetime movie day. While DH is at work & DDs are at daycare.

Yes - I'm not sure if Holly had ever done a character meal until she met me - ha-ha. I really don't see her much because she lives quite a ways from me (We are in opposite directions from WDW), but we've always had fun at the parks and on the cruise.

I was surprised, but Lifetime showed Flirting With Forty a couple of times since Saturday night. If I'd known that, I'd have waited a day, because it was one of those odd evenings when there were three things on at once that I wanted to watch. I didn't bother recording anything, because when I do I rarely get around to viewing it.

See how you have enriched Holly's life! Having been to our first character meals last month - I do believe everyone should get to enjoy that at least once in life. My DDs and I were looking at our videos this weekend and relived the magic. Maddie commented how funny Chip & Dale were and that next time she was going to rub her eyes first (where they kept acting like they were all seeing double).

Deb - If you haven't seen it and want a few laughs, you should sit through my chipmunk slideshow on this page - the home page of my Chip 'n' Dale Burrow. I have not updated that site in quite awhile, but the slideshow automatically updates there when I add pics. If you view them all, you'll see the 'munks doing some strange things. Many of the indoor photos were at Garden Grill or Liberty Tree Tavern.

I was thinking one of the chipmunks was mooning you. Then saw the remark it was a yoga munk. Too cute.

We didn't make it to Garden Grill this year, that may be one we try next time. Disney does a great job at finding CMs - as every character we met was very in character.

Well, further on I think there IS one mooning me - LOL. There are over 80 photos there, starting and ending with "Crazy Munk." BTW - I think these are pretty much all real life "friends" of mine.

Would you believe, "Flirting With Forty" is on AGAIN, right now? Looks like they're going to make sure there are plenty of viewing opportunities for that one!

Meanwhile, I just discovered that Miley Cyrus performed onstage in front of the castle at Magic Kingdom as part of the filming for the WDW Christmas parade and show . . . ON MY BIRTHDAY! I knew I should have dragged myself back to WDW that day, and I had already talked about going to MK for the parade filming then, but just never got out of the house! I'm not a die-hard Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus fan, but do enjoy her performances and would have loved seeing her perform live . . FREE (well, since I spend the money for an AP each year!).

I went into the Disney store on Sunday ( near my moms... we dont have any around here.)
They do not sell Chip n Dale stuffed animals. NOTHING. I wanted to find shirts or something too. NOPE NOTHING. bummer. we are headed to WDW on 12/28 ( our anniver) and we will be able to get some C/D stuff there.

Now I have a question about the sailaway party...Will it be close to getting dark for it? (our others cruises were in Sep/Oct) I think it would be cool to sailaway close to it being dark.

Have you been to the Creative Disboard? There are some nice people on there that custom make designs that you can print out on iron on paper and make your own shirts. They made the cute design I'm attaching here for our recent trip, including a Chip & Dale one.

I know that doesn't help with the stuffed animals - but you could get some special shirts made. It was my first time making iron on shirts - so mine are not perfect, but they were a hit with my family. I wish I had made the print ons larger - but I'll know next time.

Deb: thanks for the idea. I actually thought about trying to make some for our cruise with our logo. (I am the most non creative/artsy person you have ever met! sewing on a button is a challenge for me!)

I can't sew either. So, I'm probably tied with you on the most non-creative. I bought the girls several custom made dresses from ebay for our trip - I don't know how many times I got stopped & asked if I made them myself. My DH choked every time.

I also plan to make some shirts with the cruise logo. Just waiting until it gets closer to make sure nothing makes me cancel our cruise. This year we were hit by a hurricane and I really thought our trip was done for - but thankfully everything worked out for us.

All around WDW you will find at least one Chip 'n' Dale plush or beanie, about the size of the one I posted on our website. It will be naked - no sailor suit of course. On the ship they sell Chip 'n' Dale in sailor suits (plus there is no tax onboard unless that has recently changed, since the shops are only open when not in port).

In Frontierland at MK at the kiosk near Country Bear Jamboree there is an ADORABLE plush of Chip 'n' Dale together.

The Disney Store mostly eliminated chipmunk stuff a year or two ago, offering only what was left in inventory. Disney is seriously pushing princesses and fairies nowadays, as they are in the parks. That's okay, but it appears to be at the expense of the 'munks - it forced them out of Toontown, etc.

Sail-Away Party: Sunset this time of year here is around 5:30 pm., so the sun will be setting about the time the sail-away party ends. But don't worry, there will be evening deck parties on the cruise.

Cruise logos: Don't forget that I put links to our cruise logo (normal and reversed plus one for a name card) on our website. I will eventually get around to doing one with the "beach 'munks," but I've been very busy and figured there was no rush. Of course, everyone can do their own custom logos as well - just letting you know what's there now.

Hi Everyone...Disney gave me this cruise as a dummy cruise for the new ship, but I am actually contemplating this one, it will all depend upon when in 2011 the new ship will be ready.

Are many people going on this cruise yet?

Right now if you count all adults and children today I think it's 28, but hey, the cruise is two years away and few people book this far ahead, so . . .

My desktop computer died. I shut it down last night instead of letting it go to sleep, and this morning it would not even attempt to boot. There is power to it (checked the green light on the back), but NOTHING going on. Obviously hard drive failure to the max, or total system failure, or . .

I am currently using the new laptop I bought a few months ago, but I don't have much on it. The unfortunate thing is that with the exception of website files (which are online as well as on my laptop), I lost everything . . thousands of photos, documents, and all e-mail except the little I kept stored online. Yes, I occasionally backed up files, but mostly only the essentials. End of the world? No. Will my holidays be happy? No to that also. However, I consider myself lucky that I did buy that new laptop recently. Although I will still need a new desktop for my projects and although I lost a lot that was irreplaceable, I am certainly more fortunate than those who have had their one and only computer die!

For the sake of keeping the thread visible . . . letting everyone know that Holly and I are going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on Tuesday. If the weather is cool enough, I plan to wear my furry Dale hat in the evening.
