12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

Trying to add logo but not sure how.
I tried sending you the code via private message. If that does not work for you, let me know. I included my email address in the PM.

You might have a problem including the logo along with both your graphic tickers though. It's just a size limit thing with the DIS.

Hi, I'm Deb. I don't have a room assignment. This will be our first cruise. I went back and forth between this one & two others (11/6th, 10/23rd), but when I saw the pics of the Magic decorated for Christmas - this was the one for me. :)

I am going through a TA and requesting the main seating. I've gone back and forth on that one too. I've read posts that 6:00 pm can be hard to make coming in from an excursion - however 8:30 seems too late with kids.

At the time of the cruise our DDs, Madison & Makayla, will be 7.

I would like to participate in the fish extender exchange too. It looks like a lot of fun.

I love the logo - is it okay to copy & use for iron on shirts?

Thanks!!

:welcome: Welcome, Deb! We're so happy to have you with us! I just added you and your family to the list! Keep me posted if you have anything more to add (stateroom, dining changes, etc.).

About the logo: Do you mean the small one in my signature or the one on the website? They are a bit different. I have large versions of each, which would be suitable for a t-shirt, but in a week or so I plan to do a "reverse graphic" of each for that purpose and will post a link to it then. I think as long as each person does their own t-shirt and nothing is sold, it may be able to squeeze by the Disney copyright-watchers. ;)

Thank you!

I was looking at the one on the website - that has the cruisin nuts & then the tropical Chip & Dale on the sides. It is 2 years away - I can certainly wait. :) I'm making shirts this weekend for our first WDW trip, which is just next week, so had shirts on the brain.

Understandable! ;)

I'll let you know (well - everyone because I will post on this thread - LOL) the location of the links when I have the reverse graphics up. Yes, there is PLENTY of time! I commented to Holly (also on this cruise) just yesterday that we'll have to work at keeping this thread active and visible for the next TWO YEARS! It sounds so far away, but the time will pass quicker than we think. :goodvibes

Welcome Deb! It's so nice to have new people joining, and we are thrilled you, your DH, and your little ones are joining us. Yes, I know it's two years away - but it will pass by quickly.

I too, plan to make up a couple of shirts and/or scout them out online for Chip 'N Dale. (such a FUN theme for a cruise, don't you think?)

And have a really good time for your first trip to WDW! Don't forget to get the birthday buttons for Madison and Makayla. Lots of the CM's will say Happy Birthday to them.

As this thread grows too - there will be more and more families with children near your children's ages that they can "meet" beforehand.

Smiles,
Holly

Thank you very much.

Yes I do think Chip & Dale are a fun theme. I actually am making Chip & Dale shirts for our trip next week. Twice the Fun, Double the Trouble - for my DDs to wear. Seemed appropriate. :)

Thank you for the button tip.

One reason I liked this cruise over the other two I was looking at was the Christmas decorations, however another was this thread. Ya'll seem like a fun group to test the waters with. And I agree - time does go fast. I didn't think our WDW would ever get here (we booked in March), and yet we are just 11 days away.

Ooooh - If I'm in the parks then, I will keep an eye out for your girls with their chipmunk shirts! I am a MAJOR Chip 'n' Dale fan (They are like family to me - LOL).

It was Holly who came up with the theme for this cruise, probably knowing I'd have no trouble elaborating on it!

I am going on this cruise. This will be my 2nd DCL cruise (& my 2nd cruise overall). I will be traveling solo. Can't wait ... & Chip & Dale just happen to be my all time favorites Disney Characters..... :)

Here is my information
Name - Kathy
Dinner Seating - 2nd
Celebration - 2nd DCL Cruise & just because I can...
Stateroom - Cat 7 - 7122
Fish Extender = Yes

Kathy,

Welcome! It is so great to see new cruisers joining in, even though we are still over two years away. We are glad to have you here on this thread.

How wonderful that you picked this cruise since we're calling it The Chip 'N Dale Cruising Nuts cruise. :thumbsup2

We are seeing if we can do a few meets or activities for solos (besides the regular little meets we are doing for everyone). Technically Shari and I are solo, and Jen is travelling with her 10 year old daughter and will want a few adult activities, like Palo .

BTW, ALL meets are optional - no one should feel they have to go. For some, it will help them "know" others to do some things with. For others - it's just seeing "familiar" faces throughout the ship while they go about their plans.

Smiles,
Holly

:welcome: Welcome to the Cruisin' Nuts, Kathy! Great to have you with us! You are now on the list.

Looks like I'll have some (adult) competition for the affections of my chipmunk friends! ;) But it's always good to meet more Chip 'n' Dale fans. Disney has been cutting back a bit on the 'munks so we've been trying hard to promote them.

Trying to add logo but not sure how.
I was gone to WDW all day today but just logged in and saw that you successfully added our cruise logo! Yaaaay! :cheer2:

I think it's a great way to promote our cruise and to help others all over the DIS find out about it since it's in our signature wherever we post. :goodvibes

Shari and I went to WDW yesterday and tried out the new T-Rex restaurant in Downtown Disney. We really liked and enjoyed it - it'd be a great place for either a before or after cruise meet if anyone wanted to do it. (we still have over 2 years to decide ANYTHING :rotfl2: )

For us, it was a really good day. Lots of walking (read: exercise) and it was a nice break from the hot, steamy, humid days that we'd gotten our last few visits)

We ate in the Ice Cave. T-Rex has several rooms with different themes: The Geo-TeK room that has a meteor shower and has a flaming section (which I think may have been part of the kitchen - but still neat effect), the Coral Reef, which has huge fish tanks, and the Fossil Room. The animatronics were GREAT! There was a huge T-Rex at the check-in desk with little ones next to it.

I did take some photos - and if anyone is interested, I'll post a couple later on.

It seemed fairly busy at the parks. We went to Animal Kingdom after eating since we thought with it being cooler it'd be a good time to go. Seems like millions of others thought the same thing...

Then we went to MK and it was still fairly busy. Still, it was a nice day. It was fun to catch up with Shari and talk about our cruise!

Smiles,

Holly

I'd love to see pics if you don't mind sharing! It sounds like a fun place to dine.

LOL - we do have 2 years to pick things. :)

I liked the T-Rex Cafe so much that I'd be up for a pre AND a post-cruise meet there! LOVE those dinos!

Of course, I'll have to scrape up the money, as the prices are like at Rainforest Cafe, not exactly budget, but worth it for the atmosphere, and the food is good.

I'll post some photos in the next couple of days - tomorrow will be busy as I work all day and then of course it's Halloween.

It's a really interesting place and well worth a visit!

Smiles,
Holly

Chip & Dale make for cute mascots.

You go to WDW often? November 13th is my twins 5th birthday. So if you see a pair of twin Cinderella's wondering around MK, that could be us! They are going to BBB then CRT for lunch that day. They are sooooo excited.

Deb - As the weather cools and gas prices drop (hopefully that will continue), yes, I will probably be there more often. Right now I have tentative plans to meet a friend on the 15th for her birthday lunch though. I don't know if I will be around on the 13th.

What I'd really like to see are your girls in their Chip 'n' Dale shirts, since I am a major 'munk fan! Do you have any idea when/where they might be wearing those at WDW?

It sounds like you are going to have a wonderful vacation!

Right now I imagine they'll wear them on 11/10th as we head over to fort wilderness for pony rides. I'll be sure to take pics!

I saw a place by my house this morning (I live in Texas) where gas was $1.99. I was really sweating our trip as we are driving down, so I'm very thankful to see the prices drop.

Oh, I guess I'll have to settle for pics then. ;)

Gas at WDW (generally cheaper than a lot of other places) was $2.43 on Wednesday. Yesterday up here (Port Orange/Daytona Beach) it dropped from $2.59 to $2.40. Still VERY expensive, but a far cry from what it's been in recent months! It is always considerably less at WDW than where I live, so I'm looking forward to filling up there next week!
