12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

I know its like WAY early...And I dont know how many solo or single parent cruisers there will be.

But I was thinking maybe we could organize a group Palo brunch or dinner. I really want to go there but I dont want to feel awkward going by myself.

I know that Holly and I will want to try for Palo brunch again. We liked it much better than dinner. We are each going solo/separate cabins, but will link our dining. If we end up without any other solos or single parents, I'd be happy to have you join us fo Palo brunch. About half my cruises have been totally solo, so I know how dining alone can be.

If we do get more solo adults/single parents here, I could start a list on the website for Palo dining match-ups or other shipboard activities people may not enjoy as much solo. What do you think?

As above, technically Shari and I are both solos. Now I LOVE Palo Brunch - it was incredibly good. I'm open to getting a few people together for brunch!

I wasn't as impressed with dinner. First, I think it is more set up for a romantic dining experience. Second, I didn't think the food was that exceptional at dinner. (the coffee ...yes - best coffee I have ever had)

It might be more fun with a group - but then again having sandwiches up on Deck 10 with a group of friends is fun too. Not that I'd totally rule out dinner at Palo with a small group - we can see as time progresses. I'd feel bad if someone really wanted to go and couldn't find someone to go with. I'm used to eating out on my own - but Palo would definitely make me feel out of place solo.

On my first cruise I really, really wanted to try it as I'd heard so much about it on the DIS. Shari was good enough to go with me so I could experience it. Maybe it was just the people around us - but I very much felt like it was a "couples" thing or two couples together.

Now brunch - I still dream about! Heaven!

Smiles,
Holly

Check the FUN page of our site for a couple of new items. I put (at least temporarily) a SailAway party character pic on the PHOTOS page, and a pic of Chip dancing under some strange night lights is on the NEWS page until I have any real news to post. Probably not too amusing to many parents, but perhaps your kids will think it's cute. After all, this IS the Chip 'n' Dale's Cruisin' Nuts cruise! ::yes::

I realize that the ship will be decorated for Christmas already, so yes, I will eventually have some holiday-themed graphics and photos on the site.

:coffee: I sit here still sipping my morning coffee and realizing that our thread is getting lost on some distant page, so it must be time to post. We want anyone new to our cruise to be able to find us!

I've been busy working on a DVD project for a friend, but during my breaks I hope to come up with some ideas for "tentative" onboard meets for us. PLEASE don't let this scare anyone away, as no one need feel obligated and any meet-ups will be "just show up" if you feel like it. We are well aware that everyone's plans are subject to change on a cruise. If anyone has any meet-up suggestions, particularly for things that have worked well for you in the past, please chime in! :grouphug:

On my first cruise we did meets - and those who could - showed up - those who had other things didn't. Very easy-going. It IS fun to try and meet everyone from a cruise thread, but it can't always be done.

However, having the meets gives people the chance to find others to do things with, especially if traveling solo.

Holly

I just changed my cabin number -- and Category. I had a Cat 5 (7616) because I wanted the plexiglass verandah. Shari loves the Navigators verandah which is a Cat 7 and is a much better price.

However, I was just reading on a thread that cabin #7620 is priced as a Cat 7 although it really is a Cat 5, because there is a partially obstructed upper left hand view. It's still a plexiglass verandah, and all the room reports rave about it. It was available, so I grabbed it! :woohoo:

I've got to tell you the DCL agents are really nice on the phone. She put me on hold and went and verified all of this before I changed my cabin.

I LOVE the way the ship was decorated, but all those decorations on Castaway Cay seriously altered the "atmosphere" of the island! :scratchin

I don't mind, having been there many times and seen it in its regular state, but I'm really glad the island isn't always like that! Happy holidays! I'll have to locate my Christmas 'munk pics!

Okay, Holly - I put a holiday photo on the "Photos" page, just to foster the mood. Although that pic was not from the ship, it should be the same attire. ;)

I also added to the (tentative) "Meets." So visit the website and go through the pages! Meanwhile, I'm going to watch another scary movie (until Army Wives comes on) and have some popcorn. popcorn::

Thanks Shari! I decided to use it - I like this one a lot. Actually have to use the WONDERful Cruise one too as the countdown timer won't fit with the new signature guidelines. Didn't want to cut off part of the 'Munks!

Holly

Well, I just e-mailed you the code in case you want to make the graphics link to the cruise websites as they do in my sig.

Do you think I should change the website logo to this one? I'm debating, as it isn't "unique" but seems to show up better.

I put in the code to make my sig link to the websites for the cruises. I actually like this logo better because it does show up better. I like it a lot actually!

Smiles,
Holly

Well, maybe I'll change it on the website also . . when I get around to it.

BTW - Be sure to bring your WDW pass wallet lanyard on Wednesday. Okay? I have something for it. ;)

I plan to bring it anyway - got it right here in front of me.

Ha ha - I have something for you too...it's a surprise!

I like the logo on the website - it's just that the smaller one shows up better on here. The one on the website has them in the cute tropical outfits!

Smiles,

Holly

Well, I may leave the web one as is then. Yeah - Those tropical munks were given to me by Octavius - His art, remember? :goodvibes

Trying to add logo but not sure how.

Off topic.......SOOOOO Love Army Wives!! Last night was a good episode!! Cant wait until next week!!

If you PM me an email address for you, I can send you the code for you to copy and paste into your sig. There is no way to send it otherwise because then you would only see the graphic but not the code.

Oh, yes! I am SO addicted to Army Wives! I hated it when Getty died though. Still, I think all the stories within the show are great - MUCH better than when the show first started. I LOVE it!
