This might be a dumb question but how exactly are these time frames determined. Is it simply if I wanted to book for a stay starting Dec 11th at my home resort I would be able to start trying to book on Jan 11th? Is it the same for trying to book at 7 months? I thought I saw some sort if calendar calculator somewhere............
Thanks!

Yes, reservations may now be made 11 months (and 7 months) from the date of arrival. Members may reserve up to 7 nights from by calling 11 months from the arrival date for their Home Resort and 7 months from arrival for non-home resorts.

So how does it work if you are staying for more than 7 nights? Do you call in day by day after that?

yes. i believe the new lingo is that you can "walk it forward."

if it's not super high demand, you could also wait till 11 months from the start of the last 7 days of your trip and book the whole thing. so if you were staying dec 11 for 10 nights, just call on jan 14 to book all 10 days.

(but december is pretty high demand, so yeah, i'd call day-by-day...)

"Walk it forward" is different. Say you want to make a reservation for the nights of December 8 to 14 (check-out 12/15). You call today and book December 2 to 8 (check-out 12/9). That holds 12/8. Then tomorrow change it to December 3 to 9,that holds 12/8 & 12/9. Then the next day change it to December 4 to 10, keep going until you have December 8 to 14 (check-out 12/15). This holds your dates before others can get them.

Yes, you can call daily to add additional dates or call on the 4th day to complete a 10 day stay (or wait until 11 months and 7 days from departure to reserve the entire stay with one call).

good to get clarified. thanks.

Only problem with the idea above is that when somebody like me calls on 12/3 or 12/4 and a room is blocked out that we want........we have to wait on the wait list, even though the room that's reserved is not going to be stayed in by the individual that reserved it. WHile I see the positives of "walking a reservation" there are also some negatives. :confused3

This is a new issue which was never a problem before the reservation change allowing 11 months from arrival date instead of checkout. Those who have discussed it with Member Satisfaction were "promised" that MS would monitor reservation utilization to watch for potential abuse by "walking" reservations.

This is most likley to be an issue for those wanting specific room types at busy times - ie... BWV standard view and BW view villas, AKV Concierge villas, GVs, THVs, BLT MK vies villas, etc especially during F&W, early December and Spring Break dates.
