11+ Day Tickets?

I've found right about 10 ticketed days is when AP saved us money. You have to factor in the AP discounts and it'll depend on your spending and dining habits if you'll save money. It's worth the time to figure out the other savings and not just the ticket price difference. Don't use room savings as part of your calculation, there isn't much difference between AP and generally available discounts this year.. (minimal savings).

I've done 2 weeks and I don't know if it will help out or not but consider making no changes and assume your only doing 10 park days. You'll know by mid trip if your going to be in the parks every day and can purchase the additional second tickets you need while there. There is a lot of reasons why part of the group may or may not go into the parks the same number of days especially if this is a multi-generation vacation where stamina is not going to be equal for everyone.

I'm a woman. LOL

I just got 10 points for my comments, but the not helpful comment is still here.

I really wish disney would bring back the length of stay passes ad an option. I wouldn't think twice about buying a 13 day pass for our August trip.

The great thing about disney is that there isn't a right or wrong way to do it. We all have the freedom to do disney the way we enjoy. For some that may mean taking a break in the middle of the trip. For others it may mean going nonstop.

We typically spend 12 days at Disney World, and believe me when I say, you will NOT regret planning 2 days during your trip without a park visit. Sleeping in late, then spending a leisurely afternoon at Disney Springs, and returning to the resort directly after supper to get to bed early does WONDERS for your energy levels the next couple of days, not to mention your disposition!

Hmmm So you're the 1 who used to play "GRUMPY" over at the 7DMT... Obviously before the you took resort days..LoL..

Back in 2004 we purchased a 30 day fun in the sun pass for $300 each. Those passes were marketed to UK visitors. I ordered them online from a broker in Orlando and had no problem having them mailed to NY.
It's been mentioned already, but I think this is no longer possible. US-based brokers used to sell the UK passes on the down-low, but no longer do. You *might* find someone in the UK who will ship to a US address, but even that might be hard.

Jumping on the take a day off from park bandwagon. My favorite options:
1. Do Universal for a couple days (or any of the other area parks). If you love going to parks and don't mind the cost and have 2 extra days I'd do this first. May even be able to get third day free tickets. The most expensive option but probably cheaper than getting 2 extra Disney days.
2. Get Water Park option and spend some time there.
3. Disney Springs and any restaurants at the hotels (AK Lodge has some not to be missed)
4. Cape Canaveral
5. Relax!

Some of us have no desire to take a break while on vacation. I followed that advice the first time we went to disney. We hated it.

By early evening we were ready to head into a park, but didn't want to "waste a day" on our passes. Never again. Now I make sure we always have passes for each day we are there. Even if we spend the day at the pool, water park or downtown disney, we are able to hit a major park for fireworks, parade and/or a few rides.

That's us! DS and I cannot stand taking a break! We barley make it through the afternoon breaks for DH :rotfl2:

I will agree with upgrading to an AP, especially if you plan on going again within a year. I upgraded our tickets back in October. I have a June trip planned, and a cruise with a few days in the parks for spring break. By upgrading to the passes, you can get room, dining, and merchandise discounts. Plus the fun of planning more trips! Good luck!

Does getting an AP change your ability to book FP+ at 60 days if you're staying onsite? Or does the fact that you're staying onsite override the AP 30 day in advance booking? Is there any drawback to getting an AP if you're staying for 10+ days instead of just buying additional one-off days? This is something we've been looking at and, like the OP, we aren't interested in skipping days or going off-site. Other than the cost, since I would definitely use the merchandise discount and then probably get TiW.

If you're staying onsite, and you have an AP, you can book 60 days out for as many days as you're at the resort. So for example, I stayed onsite last summer for 18 days with an AP and I was able to book for all my days beginning at 60 days out.

60 days booking comes with your hotel reservations. You just have to have a hotel reservation and a ticket attached to your name.

Have had APs for years, sometimes onsite, sometimes offsite. 30 days when off, 60 days when on.

lol . .. I don't have to PLAY GRUMPY, I AM GRUMPY, complete with the high blood pressure to show for it. I'm a fun loving guy on the inside that needs a training manual for temper control lol.

Hi y'all, quick question. Right now I have a package that includes 10-day park hoppers, but I am going to be there longer than that. I called guest services to ask about how to go about adding a day or two, and was told there is no way?? Is that true?

Am I able to add a day once I am there?

Thanks!

No but you could upgrade to an Annual Pass, which gives you some extra perks (10% discount on merchandise, free Memory Maker)

Is the 10 day mark still true, even with the large increase in AP price?

Take a 1 or 2 day trip to Universal, Seaworld, Busch Gardens, Kennedy Space Center, or golf or rent a boat, etc. Otherwise if you really need more than 10 days at WDW determine if the AP discounts would make up the difference over a 1 or 2 day ticket.

Plus most restaurants give discounts on certain meals, too. And free parking in the PARK parking lots ( if you are staying on-site you already get this benefit). You can also plan your next vacation to get back sometime in the month before you APs expire, getting 2 visits use out of them.

It depends if you qualify for any discounts, and if you value the park-hopper add-on. And also, if you value the discounts that come with the annual pass. The break-even could be anywhere from 12 to 21 days.

It really depends on your habits while at WDW and how much money you would save from the discounts that AP holders get. For what we do, it's probably 11 or 12 days now but the rumor is tickets are about to go up and that will lower again if it happens. I won't need to renew at the higher price until the end of summer so i'll figure out what it better for us at that time.

Didn't read all the replies (lost interest when people started arguing for no reason), but we are doing a 12 night trip in May/June, and we did the 10 day hopper with WP option. Once you add one of those options to your ticket, the other is only $27ish to add. You have 14 days to use up all of the entitlements.

Thanks everyone! Sorry it has taken me a few days to respond :o

I have stayed longer before, and loved being able to go to the parks everyday- that's just me (to each his own :)). The past few times this was accomplished by having split reservations for various other reasons; so I could have gotten up to 10 days on each one and this wasn't a problem.
So I am pretty bummed about not being able to get more tickets, even though I know I can find so many things to enjoy outside the parks. As of now, the plan is to let DD do to Caribbean Beach pirate adventure, then Beaches & Cream for lunch and Disney Springs. Still back-and-forth about adding the water park option instead. Needless be- I know I can find a ton to do outside the parks.

I have a few questions about the AP as I have never had one before:
1) If I were to upgrade, is it better to do it at the beginning or end of the trip; or does it even matter? I do not know how the pricing works. Will I just pay the difference in the price of the 10 day ticket and the pass?
2) Will I be able to book packages in the future with my AP, or will it be room only? Can I get the dining plan (love the DDP :cloud9:)?

Also- someone mentioned discounted tickets for Cirque. Where are those typically found?

Thanks for your input everyone! :D

You can still get the dining plan without purchasing tickets. The package is called Better Together. It's their ticketless dining plan package. It works with room discounts. We used it during our Easter trip last year. I think the discount we used was 15% or 20% off of our room. I purchased our passes from tickets at work.

Upgrade at the beginning so you can take advantage of the merchandise discount and certain dining discounts. Yes you will just pay the difference.

Yes you can get the dining plan with AP reservations- usually not free dining although the AP room discounts are usually better than free dining anyway.

Answers above in bold. Also remember with an AP you can purchase a Tables in Wonderland card for $150 that saves you 20% on all table service and some counter service dining. Potentially this could save you more than the dining plan so I would strongly urge you to do the math on TiW vs. DDP. TiW comes out way ahead for us every year but we also go multiple times, like to order appetizers and wine (yes alcohol is discounted with TiW) and eat a lot of table service (almost no QS) even with our twin toddlers in tow.
