I've found right about 10 ticketed days is when AP saved us money. You have to factor in the AP discounts and it'll depend on your spending and dining habits if you'll save money. It's worth the time to figure out the other savings and not just the ticket price difference. Don't use room savings as part of your calculation, there isn't much difference between AP and generally available discounts this year.. (minimal savings).
I've done 2 weeks and I don't know if it will help out or not but consider making no changes and assume your only doing 10 park days. You'll know by mid trip if your going to be in the parks every day and can purchase the additional second tickets you need while there. There is a lot of reasons why part of the group may or may not go into the parks the same number of days especially if this is a multi-generation vacation where stamina is not going to be equal for everyone.

). The past few times this was accomplished by having split reservations for various other reasons; so I could have gotten up to 10 days on each one and this wasn't a problem.
