You may be right that this shouldn't be discussed on a Disney discussion board (need to bring back the debate board).
But, the rest of your statement is just. If that was the case, you would have never gotten the right to vote.

100% agree. I am certainly not going to just be a lemming to every little thing the government slaps the silly title of "for your safety" on it. How about they place a tap on your phone line and internet useage and safe, well it is for your safety. I don't need the government playing big brother. That is what has gotten us to this ridiculous security circus in the first place that makes no sense at all.
As a frequent traveler I do know how to do the security dance quicker than most, but it doesn't speed up Ma & Pa Kettle who joined the wrong line, forgot to remove the $20 in loose change, the belt buckle and the steel toe cowboy boots. MCO does not have an elite/first security line which is unfortunate for those of use who know what we are doing.
I have run into several power hungry TSA agents. They get all snippy when you ask anything. They yell instructions like they are wardens and we are the prisoners. They make up random rules.
Please.....it isn't a right to fly. No one is asking you to give up any constitutional rights here. I am NOT a lemming. But, there are ways to changed things, and ranting and raving, on a Disney discussion board, is not the way to go about it. All it does is alienate people, makes them feel attacked because they may not think the way you do...and that's not right.
Complaining about those who are slow (Ma and Pa Kettle) is somewhat elitest, don't you think? It amazes me that some who fly frequently choose to denigrate those who aren't as familier with the system, so 'slow down' those who 'get it'. Is that extra 10 mins, overall, going to kill you?
Do the TSA guidelines keep us safer?? Don't know, don't care. I certainly don't feel that any rights are being violated due to those guidelines. I know the rules, I follow them. But I guess that makes me a 'lemming'. But until those rules/guidelines are changed, you can bet your bippy that I'll be following them.
I will say that I move through security pretty rapidly...and I am NOT a 'professional' traveler. My now 16 y/o dd moves through security faster than the vast majority of passengers. She knows the drill and has since she was 5. But, I'm sure there are those business fliers, that fly all the time, that are going to see us in the line and be afraid they are behind Ma and dd Kettle....just based on what we are carrying and/or look like.
Try a little compassion people. Slow down. If you think Ma and Pa are going to slow you down, then leave extra time.
But, I will say the fact that I am going to be away from my carryon bags doesn't make me so happy. I'm waiting to see how they handle that. I don't want to be hauled off to some screening area that is removed from my stuff. Every group of workers has their 'less than honest' workers. And power hungry TSA workers??? Well...there are power hungry people in every walk of life....every single one. It just isn't that big a deal...we all know the guidelines...why is it so hard to just go along with them??? I just don't see this as a huge deal..but then again, I'm not a business traveler. I'm just the little house wife who travels for leisure a few times a year...sure do hope I'm not slowing anyone down at security.
Can we please not make this a 'them' against 'us' discussion?!
