Ok Bob. That's twice today you said you need a vacation. Now *I* want your client's number so I can call him to tell him you MUST join us on the 07! Wouldn't be the same without ya. Plus I want to give you all the ammunition you need to cut the cord and go out on your own. Hey if I have survived for two years, anyone can! :rotfl:

Hi gang,
Today is a wonderful morning in my house although we are both tired, in fact I am exhausted with only a couple hours sleep.
Last night was the worst night I have had in years!!!
Greg is training Pixie to walk on a leash. last night was only her 2nd night. He took Minnie too because she is a good example of a well trained dog.

Part way around the loop, Pixie stopped and backed up somehow and got out of her harness, which was adjusted tight. She was scared and confused and just bolted down a side street that leads to the back of our subdivision where they are building homes. Behind this is a swampy area with tons of thick brush and woods. That is where she ran into.

Greg and Minnie ran hard for about 3/4 of a mile trying to catch her but she was gone, so they came back.

Greg and i went right back out, he got on our quad to comb the huge area which goes for many miles, I walked the opposite way. we both got thorns and stickers in our bare legs. after a couple hours of walking through dangerous areas we couldnt find her. This area is full of poisonious snakes, spiders and scorpions and probably a few gators near the water. Not a good place to be!!

Greg continued to look and I went back to put on long pants , then I took the truck and drove though the surrounding areas asking people if they have seen her. I then drove the road that borders the back of this area but it was dark by then.
I then met Greg at home and told him I wanted to take a flashlight and go back to where she ran in and call her some more holding up the light hoping she will see it. at home we play follow the light all the time, plus it was late and quiet so she could hear our voices easier.
So I drove back and Greg walked back so to keep looking for her along the way in case she wondered back.

There are mounds of sand out there from the people building houses, so I climbed up a small one since it was dark and I couldnt see what I was doing.
I started holding the flashlight up high and calling her name, Greg did the same. After 20 minutes we called off the search.

Greg started to walk back to keep looking and i got in the truck, turned it on and sat for just a minute and off in the distance I saw what looked like the eyes of an animal. I jumped out of the truck and yes it was Pixie way off in t he ditsance running towards us. I went to meet her and she fell to the ground before I could get to her. i was so scared she was hurt but she was just exhausted and scared. She was shaking so hard and her heart was pounding. But her tail was wagging and her tongue wa slicking me a million miles an hour!!

she must of run for miles. Greg saw what was happening and came back, as soon as he was in the headlights where she could see him, she got up and trotted over to greet him too. He carried her back to the truck and then into the house where she drank so much water over the next hour it was incredible.

she was so scared she didnt even want to get off the patio into the dark yard to go to the bathroom. Greg even went out with her.

Then after we all quite shaking a bit we had to get ticks off of her and thorns off her skin, check all her little cuts and abrasions from running through that horrible terrain.
Then we had to check Minnie to make sure she didnt pick up any on her run through the area earlier with Greg.
then we had to check ourselves. by the time we went to bed it was very late!!! Pixie went to sleep ASAP for about an hour and then woke up and was restless all night, not sleeping at all.

I was too wound up to sleep too. So I dozed on and off for a couple of hours before getting up this morning. Pixie and Minnie are napping but I am wide awake, hope to nap this afternoon.
I need to call the vet this morning to make sure if there is anything else I need to do after removing the ticks, we dont want her to get any diseases.

That was my night, which was aweful but it is a wonderful morning today because we are all back together again!!

well I am tired so will check back later,

Kathy

Jeff, I am working on it! I REALLY hope that it will happen!

Kathy: I know what you were going through. A few years ago, my oldest dog who has passed away now, thought Lisa was mad at him, got out of the house and ran off in a thunderstorm. He ended up traveling two miles and a family found him and took him in. The lady happened to find a note that I had posted at the animal shelter, but I stupidly left my number off of it. She started calling all the Bob & Robert Phillips in our area until she found me. I had been posting signs on one side of a busy roadway, and she had been posting on the other. He somehow amazingly made the trip without getting hurt. But, it was 5 days later when I got him back. I don't think I was ever that happy to see my buddy! Glad things worked out for the best!

We were creeping towards page 2....can't let that happen!:thumbsup2

Bob,
was your buddy traumatized by his experience??
Pixie seems very afraid to go outside by herself. Last night she wouldnt get off the patio and go to the yard to go potty. This morning when I went out with her she did ok but zipped right back inside.
The pads on her paws are full of cuts and abrasions from all the terrain she went through. any advice on how to help them heal up faster?

Hey, I am really proud of both you and Lisa for all the weight you lost!!:woohoo:
That is so hard to do, every bit as hard a squitting smoking. I have a friend who did wieght watchers years ago and has just stayed with the healthy eating habit all her adult life and never gained back any of the weight she lost.
To me wieght watcher is not a diet, it is changing your live style to healthy eating , in the right foods and portions like we should all do to be in good health.

I had to learn to cook low fat, sugar free and healthy a few years back when Greg was diagnosed with diabetes. When I started looking at labels at the fat contents and sugar I was SHOCKED to see how much sugar and fat was added to even our most common foods to preserve them.
I buy as much fresh stuff as possible, and make almost everything from scratch now. My family is a lot healthier for it!!

Keep us posted on how your both doing, I think it is GREAT!!!! keep up the good work.

Kathy

Good Evening    ,
Sorry I have been MIA;) . I just have been sleeping when DS is sleeping because I am just tired. Well DS is finally getting back to sleeping through the night. I haven't gone out all week till today because I have been so tired from being up with DS at night. Today we went down to my in-laws and we went to the diner for lunch and just played in the backyard. It was a nice day. Oh, and it is what the 18th of October and we are reaching 75 degrees:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: !! CRAZY!! Well I have to get dinner started for DH and I. Talk to you tomorrow.

Kathy: Oh, I am so glad that Pixie is back!! I was reading you post and was going about to cry because you did not found her but I am glad there was a happy ending. Now you, Greg, Minnie and Pixie need to nap all day!! My advice on her pads is try not to make her lick ( I know easier said then done) because it is just going to make it for sore for her to walk on.

just a little joke to say good night,
kathy

WHO DOES WHAT

A man and his wife were having an argument about who
should brew the coffee each morning. The wife said, 'You should do it because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee. The husband said, 'You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.' Wife replies, 'No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.' Husband replies, 'I can't believe that, show me.'
So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says .......

... 'HEBREWS'

Kathy, Skipper was definitely traumatized by the event. He learned to stay pretty close to home after that, and we rarely had trouble with him wanting to run again.

The biggest thing about losing weight is it is a lifestyle change, and it is only capable of occurring when the person makes a decision to do it for their self. I had a car accident right before Lisa and I got married that injured my shoulder, and required over 6 months to get it straightened out. I went from riding a bicycle 5-6 times a week for 12-20 miles each time, to doing nothing. And, I didn't adjust my eating habits and gained this weight. Well, due to some health factors, I made the decision I didn't want to do this anymore. Plus, a very good friend of mine has now lost about 120 pounds on Weight Watchers since the beginning of the year, and he has been a huge encourager.

Hope everyone has a good evening!

Good moring everyone,

well we are going to have yucky weather today. I dont mind the rain we are suppose to get but it is still going to be 91 which means muggy and sticky weather. I cant believe our weather is staying HOT for so long this year.
I am so ready for some 75 degree weather for a change!!

Bob,
I agree it was just a total life style change for us too. But a good change. Now things are controled enough I can made desserts and snacks that are ok to eat and low calorie as long as we watch the portions.
I try to cut all the fat and sugar that I can in everything I cook.
When I splurge and give him gravy it is no longer fatty milk gravy, it is those dry mixes that are fat free and only a tad bit of it.

I use fruit and fruit juices to sweeten lots of my desserts and different baby foods work great to replace fat in cookies. I love the challenge myself and we have had alot of fun with it.
I love going to the farmers market on the weekends to get the best local fruits and vegetables. they are so much better than what you find in the store. I tried a garden a few times but Florida is just too hard to grow stuff for me. Back home I always had a huge garden so we had tons of fresh stuff. YUMMY!!!

Have a great day everyone,

anybody got any plans for this weekend??

no plans here so far,

kathy

Kathy, you need to share some of those recipes with me. I am always on the lookout for good, low cal, low fat, low sugar recipes!

As far as plans for the weekend, I have 2 games tonight and three in the morning to referee. A friend of ours called yesterday with tickets to go and see Rascal Flatts (country band) tonight, so that is what Lisa will be doing.

Other than that, just getting ready to fly to Dallas on Monday!

Hi everyone, Well it has been a busy week!! today DD is home sick:sick: She has a cough and a low grade fever. Yesterday we had parent teacher confrences for Jordyn. This is her first year a middle school, so it was a little different. She is doing pretty good:thumbsup2 , but struugles in math and language arts.

It is shaping up to be a nice weekend:goodvibes . I hope to get outside and enjoy the weather. I still have some bulbs to plant. I also need to start raking. My brother and 2 nephews are coming in from out of town, so we will be visiting with them too.

Kathy-I am so glad Pixie is ok. That is really scary. My cat got out a couple a weeks ago and my DD was soooo upset. The cat was gone about an hour and she came back home:)

Pat-So glad both grand kids are ok.

Linda-How is Bruce doing?

Lynn-I hope Drew starts sleeping better.

Bob and Lisa-Congratulations on the weight loss!!!

Well I better go check on DD. TTYL

Didn't you get the Nanaheads cook book? Kathy had tons of great recipes in there, although they weren't all low, low, low :rotfl2: You guys are doing GREAT!

Good Morning, Everybody!

Bruce is happy - they're going to let him out of the hospital tomorrow morning! He doesn't even feel too bad, just a little sore.

Kathy, glad you got your wandering pup back!

Lynn, give that Drew BIG hugs! Glad you're getting some rest, whatever time of day it occurs.

Lorna, hope your sick baby feels better soon!

Did Denice get back yet?

Happy Day, All!

Well just a little about my trip:

We had a great flight down...our plane left chicago at 6:20am we were picked up by magical express....(cruise line bus) so I asked the lady, if I ride the bus do I get a free cruise!!!:goodvibes Checked into Pop at 10:40ish and got our room right away...changed clothes and jumped on bus to Epcot....we were there a little after 11am......so great start to our trip.
We did most of the rides....loved soaring:thumbsup2 .....took Sue on the intense side of mission space....her response after we got off...."what are ya trying to do. kill me"::eek: :rotfl: oh well!!! but we had great weather, enjoyed all the parks, Wishes was great. I just about drowned at Typhoon Lagoon...that wave pool is something. We did crusher gusher....which is the water slide that goes up hills also. That was fun.....didnt buy the pictures they took of us...we did view them...but I wouldnt want anyone seeing them. All in all a great and relaxing time.

Not much else going on....take care all.....

Denise:banana:

I just cant believe how close your 07 cruise is...boy did this year go fast.
My daughter will be back in Colorado on Monday.....cant wait to have her back in the states....:thumbsup2

Good morning everyone!

Getting ready to go referee 3 football games today. They are all 6 and 7 year olds, so it should not be too much of a work-out. Last night wore me out. We had a lot of kids who were up and down the field all night!

Well, it has been EXTREMELY quiet here! I guess all of our regulars are hiding out somewhere.:confused3
