Oh gosh, this is when I really miss being back home in Long Island. We always had a big BBQ and watched all the fireworks from the neighbors. We are thinking of going back next year sometime either for the 4th of July or in September for the San Gennaro Feast.

Hey flying into Islip on Southwest, you can get great fares. Download DING! sometimes they have $99 fares each way, at that price it pays to even fly up for a long weekend.

Really have to get back to work....just dropping by to say hello.....they are going to work on our air conditioning system at work today and they are shutting it down for awhile.......can you say.......HOT

Well I guess all our sea day/woodsy people are gone.....cant wait to hear thoes stories and see thoes pictures......

OK Got my airfare last week from Southwest when the fares came out and today I booked the Radisson on www.hotels.com When I went to the Radisson's website they only had 1 BR suites for $155 and the kids would have had to sleep on the couch
When I went to hotels.com I got a room with 2 double beds for $99 a night, With the taxes and everything only $110, I can't believe it. I'm very happy about that.

with a lot of people gone it will be a lot easier to get for a few days.

Good job on the room rates too.
My DH always looks for the bargains too. He handles all the reservations for us.
Be sure and PM Shell to add to the cruise mates list that you are staying at the Radisson. There are quite a few of us who are staying there.
If we have to fly out we will probably stay there but if we have moved back to Florida by the cruise we will just drive over the day of the cruise.

Hi everybody. I have my great niece for the next 6 days so i will be very busy She is 22 months. Her parents went to Costa Rica Both grandmas a 1 grandpa haved passed so I am like her grandma. So Im sure I will be busy

I'm jealous Christine.....you've got BBQ so easy there in Vegas!

Its so hot there all you need to do is throw some meat on your sidewalk and start cooking...........mmmmmm .......that sun scorched concrete flavor with just a hint of exhaust fumes.....yummmy!!

Yeah, the Radisson is a nice place, we stayed there for our previous 2 Magic cruises.

That was a good rate for the Radisson.

We did have reservations there, but we're going to be staying in a 3br condo in Orlando because (1) it won't cost me anything and (2) this trip is a Christmas surprise for our kids and I don't want them to know were going on a cruise until we get to the ship!

Hope everyone in Gatlinburg lets me know how it goes.... We have never been. (well just the parts that are not blurry from possible intoxication )
Lance's surgery went fine and he is wild like nothing ever happened. He slept all day yesterday and so he has been CRAZY WILD today!

DH got me a strawberry shortcake for my birthday and a gift cert. for $100 spa

I am just so happy that we are home from the hospital.....

anyway I think we are stayin at Country Inn near the Port on Friday night..
It was a good price and free breakfast......

It's so funny because I was so against flying Southwest but with all the crazy stuff the other airlines are doing Southwest seems to be the safest bet. I am even flying them in Nov and will definitely consider them for flying to NY since our family lives in West Babylon.

It's not that hot It was only 113 driving home last night.

The hottest it's ever been since I am here is 122 and yes we did try to cook an egg on the sidewalk and it didn't work. However, ice cubes melt instantly.

Well....looks like it will be a slow weekend with everyone gone....woods vs. beach??? Would have loved to gone to Pigeon Forge...we were there a few years ago in a cabin....loved it...except for the bear that came up on the deck and got into the trash!! Gonna try for Bethany,DE on Saturday and hook up with Jeff/Mina to say "howdy"....then to the boardwalk either in Ocean City, MD or Rehoboth, DE--not a fan of sand but LOVE the boardwalks

The neighbor's dog "visited" again but this time only "licked" Lucy--no puncture wounds or visit to the vet this time and he had his electric fence collar on this time too

Ummmmmm.....wonder what to BBQ tomorrow????

Hey Nanas
It was a BEAUTIFUL day at the beach today. Perfect weather. Mid 80s and breezy. The ocean is C-O-L-D. Elizabeth and I got as far as our toes and that was it. THe pool was a much nicer choice. Just came back from dinner and I"m seated on our condo's balcony checking email and checking in here.
