11-29-08 Nana Heads 3: Tiara Bob & The Dreamboats Reunion Cruise CONT'D THREAD #11!

GregID...Have a safe trip home and while each load of laundry is in, stop by and show us some pics.

Hi Joanna,

As soon as I get all these photos downloaded to my laptop I'll post a few. :thumbsup2

Evening Folks, or morning if you are on the East Coast!

I arrived in Portland tonight to 24 degrees with a wind chill of 7 degrees, 25-35 mph winds, and ice/snow on the ground. Boy, am I a happy camper, or what?!?:sad2:

Oh well, only one more week on the road then about 5 weeks at home!

Have a great week everyone!

Boy I didn't know you were going to follow me across the country last night! :rotfl2:

Just be glad you weren't going with me!.....We landed in Idaho Falls last night to -7 below and 8 inches of snow.....I almost didn't make it into my own driveway!

Greg glad you made it home ok. We were watching your weather and knew it was nasty there. Its nastyhere too as Bob described above.
cant wait to see your photos,

kathy

I know you guys will probably give me grief for this question especially since I spent most of the sea day on the deck wrapped in towels because I was so cold (thank you again Kim!) But, Steve and I were trying to figure out somewhere we could go to see snow between Christmas and New Years. We'd like to go the least distance as possible, and not end up in a blizzard or anything. Actually, we'd love to go to a small, "Mayberryish" town. Any of you guys have any suggestions? (Yes, I'm expecting lots of humorous ones as well as a few serious ones!)

Thanks Nanaheads!!!

Hugs for Rick (careful, gentle hugs mind you). Tonya called and say Trey did very well (she actually WATCHED the first one :scared: ) and he's in a really pretty, happy place right now ................

Did she take pictures?:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Please tell Steve that it didn't hurt at all, no big deal, etc., so he'll go get one!!!

Lisarae: They wouldn't let me take pictures. :headache: Trey is up and doing fine and is actually not really hurting. He said it was less painful than going to the dentist. He did have a date with a bag of peas on Friday night, but he said they were NOT going to get serious. So Steve, step up and do it. :)

I hope all is well, work has been a bear and then we have ice on top of that this morning.

ttyl.

Hey LisaRae!

Depends on whether you want "real" snow or "manufactured" snow. With the weather in the SE, your best bet is going to be one of the ski areas in NC or TN (think Beech or Boone, NC and Gatlinburg). But, what you are most likely going to find there is manufactured snow. You can check out Beech by going to Ski Beech, and they even have a webcam so you can see the conditions.

I wish I had been going where you came from instead of where you were headed!:lmao: The temps really aren't bad here, it is just the horrible wind that is happening. Gusts up to 50 mph today!:scared1: I have hiked and camped in 20 degree weather, and I wasn't this cold!

Afternoon all:

Greg Id..glad you made it home and welcome to the wonderful weather.....
we have windchills here today of -15 and the roads were aweful this morning driving to work. But at least the sun is shinning.!!!:cool2:

Bob....so when are you moving to Portland....sure sounds like you are enjoying the weather....

Lisarae: hmmmmm not real sure were you can go for snow.....(I guess I understand why you want to see it) whatabout going up the east coast?
How about Vermont? Never been, but I heard its beautiful there.

I say Vegas. It's only a 4 hour flight. Mt Charleston is getting lots of snow right now plus you have the pretty lights of the strip. Hotels are cutting their rates so it's wouldn't cost much. I would offer you my casita but DMIL and DFIL are coming on Thursday:scared1:

Sounds like someone is going to have a WONDERFUL weekend!:headache:

Why don't you come here to Michigan? It's just a short 2.5 plane ride. There are lots of cute little towns around. It is freezing though so be ready!!!!

I like JoAnnnas idea of Celebration Florida:)

I remeber John using the frozen bag of peas. John recovered pretty fast. Glad Trey is doing well.

Come on Steve you can do it:cheer2:

Okay, I'll pass this along to Steve. Maybe I can think of some really good reward!;) Tell Trey we said Hi and to heal fast.

My work was a bear last week, but so far today has been good. Seems like most of the NASA people have taken leave. I don't want to burn mine; I just have a feeling Mom's going to need me a lot this year.

Christine, I hope it's not too bad with the in-laws. Are they as hairy as Joey? Not that that matters, or anything...I'm just saying...

Thanks for the idea for snow; I think Steve just wants to drive somewhere. I wish Atlanta was getting snow (sorry Bob and Lisa) because there are a lot of cool towns around there.

We were walking through the Osborne lights at Disney Hollywood Studios last night, and that's when we thought of trying to find a small town with snow to visit. We also thought about how fun it would be to be at the Studios with the BFFs.

Welcome home Greg ID! Glad you guys made it home safely. All of our snow melted yesterday and today it is freezing again. More snow expected tomorrow night. I am sure we will have a white Christmas.

Madison is home sick today. I took her to the Dr. She has a sinus infection and fluid behind her ears. Just taking it easy today. Have a good one nanas:banana:
