My name is Kathy (35), and we're from Mt. Airy MD. I'm traveling with DH Joe (46), DS Shawn (7) and DMIL - Bette. This is a first DCL cruise for all of us (although me, DH and DS have cruised before). I think we're in stateroom 7052, but not quite sure due to some changes we made with our categories.

We haven't booked excursions yet either - still having trouble deciding on things that all 4 of us would enjoy doing!

My name is Gina(26) and I am travelling with my husband (26), mother (53), and father (60). We are from Pendleton, IN and this will be our 3rd Disney cruise but first 7 day! We are staying at POR afterwards for 4 days as well. We are frequent Dis travelers! We are in staterooms 5137 and 5139 for now, we may change when we get into port.

28 days and counting!!

Hi everyone. Just 4 weeks today!!!!

My name is Diane and I will be cruising with my DH (Rick) and my DS4 (Matt). It's Matt's first cruise but Rick and I cruised a lot (10+) before Matt. But this is our first Disney Cruise. We enjoyed all the other cruise lines, but picked Disney for Matt - the other kids, the clubs and especially the fact that everyone on the ship knows there will be kids all over the place.

I am so excited. It has been 4 years since our last cruise and we are ready for this one. Looking forward to that Keg that Lampskies is bringing. So kind of you to carry it on board for our Meet. Should we bring our own mugs?

Hey.............how 'bout we finish our posts for the next 25 with our "real" first names. Then maybe we can place "real" names with dis board I.D.'s?????

Ron

Hey gassmandy....................I was reading another post about the "norwalk virus". It says that people who came down with it on the ship got "upgraded" to a verandah room............How bad you want that upgrade. LOL

Ron

Lampskies--read the same thread----unfortunately they had to be quarantined for a few days, too!! Maybe Shawn will volunteer!
LOL!

Ok, so I am an idiot. What night is the formal night? And, is there any way of knowing our dining rotation before we arrive?

Gina::MinnieMo

Gina,
Idiots?? Not on our cruise!

That reminds me of a quote: "There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots" Doesn't apply to 11/29.

Anyway, back to your question, formal night is Sunday, but your menu will be the normal rotation meal for whichever dining location you have that night. Thursday is Semi formal night with the Captains Gala menu (lobster, etc.) It always seems to me they ought to switch formal and semi formal nights to have formal with the fancy menu.
Regarding rotation, the first you will know that is at check in. It will show up on your KTTW card.

Bob and Mary

Gina............This should give you an idea of dining rotations:::::::::Eastern

Night Port Menu Dress code
sat Port Canaveral Rotation Casual
sun Day at Sea Rotation Semi-Formal
mon Day at Sea Rotation Casual
tue St. Maarten Tropicali... Tropical
wed St. Thomas Around the World Casual
thu Day at Sea Captain's Gala Formal
fri Castaway Cay Best of Master Chef Casual

Rotation is either Lumieres, Animators Palate, or Parrot Cay menu depending on what resturant you are in.

Or go to Barbs site at www.castawayclub .com

Thanks for the info Ron! I have another question. My Husband doesn't have a tux and I am not sure we want to rent one, so would a jacket and tie be sufficient for the formal night? Need opinions please!

Thanks,

Gina::MinnieMo

Gina...................I WILL NOT be wearing a tux!!!! Last cruise I took a sport coat and tie. That's as formal as I am getting......I'm on vacation!!!! Besides being a Finance Director fot the other 51 weeks of the year......there will be as little formal as possible for me.

Ron

My DH is not wearing a tux either. He is bringing a nice suit for formal night and a sport coat & tie for semi formal night.
