Hi all! I'm just checking in tonight.

DD wanted me to ask how old everyone's girls are. She is 9 and is looking for a buddy on the boat. The poor thing is so deprived being an only child. I figure its only a matter of time before she starts trying to bring a friend on the cruise. She already wants to bring one camping with us this summer.

What happened to the days when mommy and daddy were enough? I can't imagine not wanting to hang out with two middle aged people all the time. What's her problem?

My DDs are 10 and 5 but my oldest will be 11 on the cruise in November and thus will be in a different group than your DD. She will be in Ocean Quest, not the lab. I know what you mean about finding a friend. It is so vital to us cruising too.

Good morning everyone,

Its foggy again today but will burn off soon for a nice sunny day then rain and wind for the next week and 3 feet of snow in the mountains, so thats a lot of moisture coming our way.


Anybody have plans for the weekend?

No plans here, just buying a few groceries is aboutit, oh yes I will do a laundry too Thats about it for the weekend. Exciting huh? LOL

Morning Kathy, I'm sleeping on a concrete floor tomorrow night! Aren't I lucky?! Okay, its kind of my fault. Our girls scouts are doing an overnight at the state aquarium and I'm the leader. So I guess you could say I encouraged it.

Next year this one kid is pushing for Great Wolf Lodge. Okay, not quite sure what educational aspect water slides and comfy mattresses have but at least I can appreciate her need for comfort.
Alas, I do not believe that we can sell enough cookies to cover this. Talk about pricey!!

My DD is a campfire leader for about 12 years now, so I know about being encouraged by the kids to participate in painful ways for adults. She has slept on a gymnasium floor twice a year every year for their annual beach clean up. She is 35 now and really starting to feel it

It is terrible the price of the candy and cookies for the other kids, plus both groups sell around the same time of the year which hurts them. I wish they were 6 months apart. I think everyone would do better in their sales.

I buy one box from each grandkid and from either the first one who knocks on my door or the first one who aproaches me at the store. Thats all I can afford at those prices.
Plus we can't eat any of it so I dont get anything for my money. I always ask the kid what their favorite cookie or candy is then after i pay for it I tell the child to keep it for their family for for their troop to have as a treat. I figure it is a donation. Plus the kids are thrilled.

One year when we made great money I bought 4 or 5 boxes at once and gave one to each kid at the store. They were jumping with joy!! That was fun.

When I was kid one year we had to sell light bulbs Can you believe it? Who wants to buy light bulbs from a kid for camp. Some bought out of sympathy I think, It was embarassing

Hi Brantley,
yep we are headed for a nasty weekend here. I hate all the rain. I dont mind when I'm in my house where I can move around but in an RV its gets a bit tight sometimes when you cant get out. Plus the smell of wet dog isnt pleasant either

Sounds like your colder than us, try and keep warm.

It was a great day at the pool for our family. Warning. Proud dad alert. Lizzie swam five events and placed in every single one of them. She improved her time in 100 IM and 50 back and finished first in 100 IM, 3rd in 50 back, 3rd in 50 free, and her two relay teams (200 medley relay and 200 freestyle) finished first and second, respectively. Definitely a memorable day for dad.

Hey Dawn, got your e-mail. I really doubt we'll be cruising DCL in 2010 as we're already booked on that NCL 9 day southern caribbean cruise in March 2010.

There is a chance we may cancel the cruise and take the kids to the Beaches Negril resort on Jamaica for a week later this year, but that's still up in the air.

Boy have you been in big trouble!!!!! Kathy reported in that you were not going to post here since you were not on this cruise. Once a Nannahead always a Nannahead!!!!!!

If we don't do this one, maybe we will be able do 2010!!!! I am really wanting to hit the new ships also, so hopefully 2011 will be a go as well.
