Thanks Kathy...I saw the very end put missed everything after he turned himself in. It seemed to be a really good show.

Well it looks like they closed the schools for a good reason huh?

Hope you dont loose power.
Do you have a fireplace to keep you warm if you loose power??

Is your husband far away? i hope he doesnt have to drive too far in the snow storm!!

I am sure glad they closed schools...I have never seen them do that before though. I sure hope we don't loose power...we'll freeze:goodvibes We have no fireplace. Glen doesn't work to far but far enough and he never took the all-wheel drive today because we had no idea it was supose to be so bad today.

Jeff,

I feel for you in all that cold . I hate the cold as i get older. It makes my bones ache where it never use to. I now understand why people retire to warmer climate states. It hurts to live in cold states.

Sounds like your going to really be busy with the swim team. Better takes some extra vitamins to keep up your energy;)

Kids take a lot of energy as I'm sure you know:lmao:

Have fun with it!!!
They're only young once.
When they hit the teen years they usually dont want their parents to be involved, they want someone elses parents so you cant spy on them:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hopefully your girls wont be like that, but most are.:goodvibes

I dont know where he works but maybe they will close early and let him get home before it gets too bad?

Jaime,
I dont know if you have some thermoses but when I use to live in Bend we had terrible snow and ice storms and I would heat up the thermoses with boiling water to get them nice and hot.

Then fill one with HOT tea and Hot cocoa. I do mean HOT, like in boiling hot!!!

Then set them aside in case we lost power. Having a hot drink really helped.

I also would heat up soup for a hot dinner just in case.

every 3 to 4 hours if we still had power I would reheat everything to keep it piping hot.

That saved us more than once.

Plus in later years I had a coleman cook stove for camping or a BBQ. Both were outside on the back porch but they cooked nice hot meals to warm us up.

No such luck...he's management and they support a oil rig offshore. The forecast is calling for it to clear off late afternoon so hopefully by time he gets off they will have the roads salted and cleared.

It really was but to appreciate it, you really need to see the fight between Ducky and the man who did the torturing. That is where everything got explained. It was very good dialogue.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for him!!!

Greg,

we would love to go on the Oasis someday too. But we wont pay those prices either. Until the economy gets better you can get good deals on all the other ships if I guy watches.

But since the Oasis is new they will fill up without special rates.

But once its been out there for a few months, I think they will have to offer some incentives of some kind to fill the ship. Things will be hard for the cruising industry for a couple more years I think.

Greg watches all the different lines for specials they run through TA's on line. There have been some great busy lately, just to fill the ships.

Thanks Kathy I never thought of that. If really needed we have our bbq but it might be hard to get too.

My kids always got all excited when cocoa came out of a thermos. It always tasted better:lmao:

If we made it without loosing power they still got to drink it. We usually made popcorn too. Kids liked munching on it , even if it was cold. It made it a special fun day.

I would take sheets and cover the table and make forts or houses out of them. The kids would have parties with cocoa and popcorn in them.
I never got the "I dont have anything to do "routine when I did that.:goodvibes

Has anyone ever been to any of the beaches resorts? A friend of mine is trying to decide between a Disney cruise and the Beaches Turks & Caicos resort...I never heard of them before.

Hi Kathy
Hi Greg

I am going to keep my DCL ressie. I booked 2 rooms but put me in one room and Mitch in the other and we paid only $125 deposit per room. I'm going to keep it for the new ships when they come out in 2011

Good morning everyone!

Joanna, they told me I had to book our rooms with everyone that would be staying or else I'd have to pay the "current price" if I added them later?

I've been debating about keeping our DCL booking, but we'll be cruising NCL in 2010.

The next cruise we take will definitely be on the Oasis of the Seas, so we probably wouldn't be cruising DCL again until 2014? Not sure if want Disney to hold my $$ that long?! :confused3

Looks like I took more away from Cozumel then just good memories! :rolleyes1

I woke up this morning and Janel said I have a mole on my back that looks cancerous!!!! :scared1:

She said it either wasn't there or wasn't that big just a few days ago, so I have an appointment in the morning to have it biopsied.

The doctor said if the biopsy comes back positive for cancer they'll do surgery immediately to remove it. :faint:

Needless to say my anxiety level is a little high today!!

If I wasn't married to a nurse I probably wouldn't be to worried, but since she works will Hospice patients and see allot of skin cancer she normally can tell skin cancer when she sees it!

Thanks Jeff! We'll be there in April for 10 days. Right now Dad is working in Phoenix and is there by himself in a big home in a golf course gated community. So we'll stay there for our Phoenix time but also want to visit some of the other cities and places in Arizona...I'm going to check out Tuscon online now:goodvibes We are also considering renting a houseboat for a few days but I forget right now where that was??

I've never been to NYC but it looks like a lot of fun!

Hawaii is on our list of places to go but we want to wait until the girls are older since it is so far away from here...just think the flights would be horrible! Where are you going in Hawaii? We have friends who just booked NCL Pride of America Hawaii Islands Cruise...it looks really neat.

We are headed to three islands this time. Oahu (Waikiki) for 4 nights, then Kauai for six nights and our Maui for five nights. I'm ready to leave right now as I freeze and watch the snow begin.

Has anyone ever been to any of the beaches resorts? A friend of mine is trying to decide between a Disney cruise and the Beaches Turks & Caicos resort...I never heard of them before.

We have ALMOST gone to that resort a couple of times. About 2 years ago a friend went and had a horrible experience. She hated it. Said it was dirty, the rooms worn, the food bad, the kids programs not great. So now I am afraid to try it especially now that we have cruised DCL and have a certain level of expectations.

Greg- all good wishes that everything turns out okay for you.

Greg, I will be thinking of you . I have been there several times with bad looking moles on my back and legs. I think I have had around 20 removed the last 5 or 6 years. Biopsies arnt bad on a mole. The shot to numb it stings for 2 or 3 seconds then its numb.

There are several ways to remove it. Depending on what kind of cancer IF its cancerous. Just depends on how much skin they need to take with it.

If its bad like Melanoma, you will get to go sleepy by in the hospital because they take alot. My brother had that done on his arm.

Other cancers they can often take what they need right in the office.

More than likely, even if its ok, the doctor will want to remove it anyway, then you dont have to worry about it in the future. Then believe it or not they have different ways to do that too. I have had it done 3 different ways all in the office, all easy and painless accept for the shot of novicane.

I wont go into detail. The waiting is the worst part of it all.

I wish good negative results for you!!:thumbsup2

Next time you go to Cozumel, dont be such a cheap skate!! Buy souvenirs, dont smuggle one back on your body:lmao:

sorry, I couldnt resisit!!
Keep us posted,

Kathy

Greg your in our thoughts...good thing you have Janel taking good care of you:goodvibes

Kathy were you talking to Dawn after...I hope Sarah is okay.

Well we had a lot of snow fall in 3 hours the it turned to a lot of rain...it took me 21/2 hours to shovel...Glen hated that I refuse to use the snowblower...shovelling is my excuse not to exercise:thumbsup2 It's really windy and still raining now...a cold front is suspose to move in tomorrow.

Jaime I cant find Dawns phone number. I think its in my other book which I need to digout of the drawer. I will look for it this evening and call her tomorrow, if she doesnt post.
I was wondering about Sarah too.

Atleast your snow turned to rain, that should be good unless it freezes tonight into ice.

gotta fix dinner, back later,
Kathy
