Jaime, how did the swimming go?

Great! I am seeing a big difference in both girls after two lessons...not sure why...had them in lessons elsewhere and they would not do anything:confused3 Oh well...this place is alot cheaper and they are learning how to swim...at family swim on Sunday Kierra swam with no float the whole time...jump in...swam in under water...it was pretty neat...I was amazed...I guess they'll do it when they are ready:rolleyes:

TWO NEW DISNEY VACATION CLUB RESORTS OPENING IN 2009
BAY LAKE TOWER
DISNEY'S CONTEMPORARY RESORT
Disney Vacation Club's "Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort" will feature views of the Magic Kingdom and Bay Lake.

Plans include a rooftop lounge, zero entry Bay Cove pool with waterslide, whirlpool and interactive children's water feature, fireworks viewing deck and a sky bridge (elevated walkway) connecting this new resort to the iconic Contemporary Resort.

Bay Lake Tower will offer studio units as well as one, two and three bedroom accommodations. The one/two/three bedroom units will feature a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, washer/dryer, separate bedrooms and other amenities which provide a "home" environment. The interior furnishings are described as family friendly "rich woods and warm fabrics".

The Lobby area will have glass encased columns and woven woods with views of the pool and Bay Lake. A Community Hall activity center will also be part of Bay Lake Tower.

One of the most exciting features will be the "Top of the World Lounge", named after the original restaurant located at the Contemporary Resort. The outdoor deck will offer unparalled views of the Magic Kingdom Fireworks. (Access is limited and usage guidelines will be enforced.)

Bay Lake Tower is expected to be completed by Fall of 2009.

TREEHOUSE VILLAS
DISNEY'S SARATOGA SPRINGS RESORT & SPA
The "Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa" will feature 60 three bedroom units which will accommodate up to nine guests.

The original Treehouse Villas were opened in 1975 and accommodated guests through 2002. These octagon shaped units, nestled in the woods, featured elevated views of the tranquil surroundings.

Of concern in building the new units are the surrounding wetlands. Disney has decreased the footprints of the original treehouses which has reduced the encroachment of the wetlands by 70 percent per unit.

When completed, the Treehouse Villas will be elevated 10 feet from ground level. Each accommodation will feature three bedrooms with flat screen TV's. Two of the bedrooms will have a Queen bed and one will have bunkbeds, with a Queen sleep sofa and a sleeper chair in the living room. The units will have two bathrooms, an open kitchen with a granite counter with seating for three and separate table with seating for six. The living room will also have a flat screen and cathedral ceilings.

The Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will have its own pool and will share the featured amenities at Saratoga Springs including the boat transportation to Downtown Disney, tennis, bike rentals, kid's playground, spa/fitness center and feature pool with slide.

The Treehouse Villas are expected to be completed by Summer of 2009.

How cool is that...the BLT sounds really nice! I bet it will be very poplar too!

Has anyone ever watched the water parade? I've been wanting to see it for years now but we never remember it...pretty sure we will spend a few days at WDW before our next cruise catching all the small things we have missed in the past...we will spend a lot more time relaxing:goodvibes

Jaime- I read that they are selling for $112 per point with no incentives. I think it will be impossible to get into the BLT unless you own there because it's a pretty small DVC property. I'm sure we'll try every time we book so you never know when you are going to get lucky.

We've seen the water parade - mostly "by accident" when we have stayed at the Poly or WL or GF - if we happen to be in our room and hear the music, we go out on the balcony. :lmao:

Before we moved we watched BLT being built from tearing down the old section to building the framing of the new one. You can see it from the Monorail or we often would go to the contemporary from MK, just walk the path over and eat there alot.

The also did some major remodeling of the shopping area inside the Contempory recently.

Jaime,
we have seen the water parade 3 or 4 times, always by accident as we were leaving the park or riding the monorail. it doesnt last long but its worth seeing once or twice. I know the girls would enjoy it. it has music and is very bright and colorful.

Kathy

Greg,
yes I saw you got the time THIS time.:lmao:

I was busy walking my pups and spying on the neighbors here. The place is almost completely full. They are all 70+ people who all know each other. They are all having a blast!!

Kathy

I am fixing tacos tonight for dinner. That should be quick and simple to do.
The meat is already cooked and seasoned. Just zap it in the microwave and were ready to eat.

I will also serve some fresh fruit and then peanut butter cookies and ice cream for dessert.

I have cold weather foods stocked up and it doesnt want to get cold enough to have them:confused3
