(DD's DH is a city Cop, DD is a College Cop & studying Forensic Psychology, DS is Security at the new Sands Casino in Bethlehem, PA and wants to be a Cop someday too and DH & I used to be EMT's on a volunteer ambulance corps)

10. What type of music do you listen to? Do you have a favorite group/singer/band etc.?John Denver, Barry Manilow, 50's, 60's & 70's music and few new groups. Basically easy listening.

11. Where did you do your schooling from? High School - Freedom High, Bethlehem, PA. After that I went to Allentown School of Cosmetology, took my boards and got my license.

12. Do you like sports? What's your favorite football team? Ice Hockey. Whatever team my son plays on.

13. How many siblings do you have? 3 older brothers

14. Did you always want to be a XXX? (your profession) I always enjoyed working with hair, but in 7th grade I wanted to be a nurse, but then I realized how many years of additional school I would need and went with Hairdressing instead. Did get a little fix the years I worked as an EMT though.

15. What do you like to do in your spare time? Sewing, Knitting, Crocheting and other crafts. I'm also pretty handy with tools. Just finished painting DS former room, laid parquette flooring and cut all the moulding for around the floor. DH had to drill and hammer it in because I just don't have the strength for that. (It was Oak moulding)

16. Any interesting places that you've traveled to lately? Bahamas last year on the cruise and in 2004 I went to London with DH when he went there for work. Want to go back there someday.

17. Any particular cuisines or dishes that you like the most? Pennsylvania Dutch

18. What is your attitude when it comes to money? Are you a spender or a saver? Both, save, then spend.

19. What does your name mean? Don't laugh, literally translated it means "Beaver Meadow"

24. Are you an outdoors person? yes. We have camped quite a bit, Canada included. Love to swim, but can't stand the sun & heat.

25. Are you an adventurous person by nature or do you prefer playing it safe? adventurous. I ride my own motorcycle (a Yamaha Virago 250). DH & DS also ride. I am not a good passenger though.

26. How was your childhood like? With 3 older brothers it was rough. I didn't have the kind of protective brothers that others had. Mine would just as soon help pick on me than help me. It's gotten better over the years since we've all grown up.

My background is in Human Genetics, but I've been a SAHM for most of the past 11 years. I do a lot with our PTA and run their Arts in Ed Committee

Hmm...that's a hard one. I love to read.

The Amazing Race. The Big Bang Theory (that's the geek in me talking).

I like Broadway music best but also Billy Joel, Elton John, folk music, mostly that sort of thing. And PDQ Bach (there's that geek in me, again).

I graduated from Brandeis after spending my freshman year abroad at a college in Switzerland. Then grad school in NYC for Genetics, but I left after 7 years before finishing. Long story.

Ick, sports.

One little sister (not so little now I guess).

I always figured I'd be a scientist. I didn't count on hating it so much.

Wanted to do it last night but we have a kitty that hates when we're on the computer. So he jumps up on the computer and hits the off button. Seriously, he turns off the computer.

So DD was writing an email to one of the other girls on the thread, was just about to sign her name and the dang cat shut down the computer. It was bedtime anyway (for her) so I never bothered to log back on.

And yukongirl (sorry, I don't know your first name), we looked up where Whitehorse was on the map. DD said "Well no wonder they are going to Florida. They must be frozen up there!" And I concur!! So this thread is somewhat educational. Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking with it. I play on the Dis for the educational value.

Yay! Loving the GTKY's! And I agree Allison--the Yukon?! It makes me glad I live in VT (and usually I'm just feeling sorry for myself cause it's so cold all the time.) It must be seriously beautiful there though!

DH is working on the FE gifts today and driving me a little crazy. But that's why I love him because he's as crazy as I am. He took my simple idea and completely re-worked it and made it great. What a good man (when he's not driving me bonkers ).

I wonder how the FE list is coming - any new adds? While I am excited the cruise is just 6 weeks away, I also know it is going to get crazy getting organzied/packed for me, DH and 4 kids so hoping to get FE gifts firmed up in next couple weeks but need to know final headcount and gender of kids.

Wish my university had a big sports team (would have gone to a bigger school if I had it to do over). Hubby is a big Denver Broncos fan so that seems to be the family team although I like to root for “whoever is playing the broncos” just to give him a hard time. We love youth soccer – girls are big players!

I was a CPA for first career out of college – great first profession. I like client service and helping people make money with their money (which is how I describe my work to my kids). But growing up I wanted to be a dolphin trainer until my dad asked me “how many flipper trainers do you think get jobs”?? So I studied accounting!!

Cook, drink wine, entertain with friends, shop, and play with my kids

We spent a week in August with our friends in Seattle area – LOVE the pacific northwest during the summer. We dug clams, harvested mussels, went on their boat and just enjoyed the outdoors with the kids – the best!

I like food in general – a good pasta, yummy steak, but also like lighter salads and fresh veggies

I am a portfolio manager at Everett Harris & Co - a private asset advisor with main office in Los Angeles but I have a small office in OC (2 miles from home). We have $5billion of assets under management and run stock and bond portfolios. The Dow hit 10,000 yesterday so business is a little more fun than a year ago!!

Hi everyone

Sorry I kind of dropped away, I have been really sick since the massive dust storm. I don’t know if you guys saw any of the pictures but we woke up one morning and outside was glowing red. We immediately though CRAP bush fire but we couldn’t smell smoke, so turned on the tv and found it was a massive dust storm (with red dust from the outback) that was carried into the city. I can’t event explain it, I have never seen anything like it, really creepy & eerie. And everything was covered in about ½ to an inch of thick red dust.

Anyway I ended up with terrible asthma & a lung infection, it was so unusal that they don’t think it will ever happen again.

That IS exciting....a Disney Cruise ship wedding, huh? What happened with the reception?? That's not cool. I'm sure it'll be fantastic though...you're on a cruise ship, what more could you ask for? Are there lots of guests attending the wedding? How large is the wedding party?

Ahh thanks, it is very exciting it’s our first trip to WDW & our first cruise too. All our plans on the ship have been fixed up, WOOO HOOO (I think with three wedding onboard it must get a bit hectic ).

We have 8 maybe 10 guests coming, which is amazing (we thought it would just be us) as it’s a massive trip all the way from Australia, we still can’t believe they are all coming

I'm impressed that you bowl and golf. We did a "bowling league" a long time ago when I worked at the childcare facility. It was mostly just "fun"...because none of us were very good..lol...As far as golf--I love mini golf...hehe...but again, that doesn't mean I'm good at it!
As far as a picture--if you have any on your computer you can "upload" them to free picture hosting sites like www.shutterfly.com, or www.photobucket.com, and then you'd be able to post it....BUT...that can be a pain!

YAY! Another little one my son's age....When will be be 4? Mine turns 4 February 22nd. Will your 7 year old be going to the 5-7 group? I bet she'd have fun with the "girls" too! My husband works in Accounting (and he's going to school nights to get his MBA)...He'll be excited when I tell him what you do for work. He loves "playing around" with investments (not that I'm saying your job is playing around... I'm just saying he like investments)...he even has this little simulator program. Ideally he would like to work in a financial analyst position someday...but I think deep down he's enjoy doing something like you do. I love your family photo! I'm so impressed that everyone is in one piece, looking at the camera--AND looking so great! Beautiful family indeed. That pic makes me long to be on the beach... Soon enough, right?
