The week after Christmas next year, we are planning to "search" for snow. It just doesn't feel like Christmas around here without the cold and snow on the ground. I miss that from my youth in Massachusetts. However, the one year we went to MA for Christmas it didn't snow. It snowed the day after we left. So, we promised the kids we would go on a hunt to find snow next year. Initially, we were going to travel to New Mexico. But, Colorado seems to be more reliable on snow in the winter. Is there anywhere you'd recommend? We don't want to go skiing this time, maybe some sledding. I saw you are from Colorado and figured you might have some favorite places. Thanks! -Jennifer

Me too. I couldn't help but notice the snow. Brandie, your daughter is adorable. I assume she has posed for a picture or two. Keep the memories alive, they're only that small once.

I know after the first few snows you are tired of it. But, we are so envious of you here in Texas. It is suppose to be in the low 60's today. We want the snow!!!!!!! -Jennifer

Colorado was very unreliable this year and far as getting in and out because of the snow...LOTS of it!

We plan on driving to Colorado next December/January believe it or not. We love roadtrips. Sometimes getting there is half the fun. DH (Bill #3) got a new Hummer H3 for Christmas. He is itching to "try it out". -Jennifer

brrr....does anyone remember stepping out on the verandah or out on deck that Monday at sea? I want that heat again....someone please deliver it to me or me to it....

The snow Fiona was next to was only from the first storm (of FIVE). We have a 3 car garage, and her daddy was working to free the Pathfinder, so she was in front of the car. We still haven't cleared the 3rd space; no need to, so we're not worrying about it.

Would you believe the roads are clear now, but we still have 3-4 foot piles of snow??? Thank goodness for having a south-facing house! The weather here in Denver can actually be snow one day and 70 degrees the next. No joke. This is the first winter where it actually has stayed cold after snowing and not given the roads time to get clear.

About where to find snow... Well, to be truthful, we need to check the weather every morning to see what our weather will be like that day. We've been in drought conditions (and actually still are!) for at least 3 years, so the only place that SHOULD have snow would be up in the mountains, with names like "Steamboat Springs" and "Aspen." We have gone to Steamboat and had a good time, and I don't ski or snowboard (VERY blind without my glasses, and I'm terrified of mowing down a toddler on the bunny slope).

So to forecast for next year... I don't think I can. We can also have snow/sleet in July here. Our weather definitely keeps us on our toes!

Thank you! And yes, I was told to take the picture there. No joke. Evidently, Donald, Daisy, Mickeee, and Minneeee were less intimidating when they stood still. We have copies on the fridge and Fiona giggles at them every day.

Oh Brandie, I feel so bad for you ... you post this precious pic of your daughter, and the only thing I see in that photo is about 10" of snow that was butted up against the garage door!

WOW When I first looked at the picture all I saw was the cutie pie in the picture-read your post Shell and had to go back and take another look.
Brandi is this the snow you guys endure all the time??? I love snow but not sure I would love that much all the time!!

Well, he'll need a new pirate outfit by then--getting too small. The next one will be his 4th pirate outfit. If he doesn't outgrow them, they get completely worn out because he wears one almost every day. Good grief! I've created a monster!
