Actually if the s*** would just stay on the grass and trees and stay off the roads, it wouldn't be so bad. If it could always hover around 32 degrees, that would be tolerable as well.

It's when we hit the weeks on end with temps topping out in the single digits that I hate.

I agree, exactly!!!! I think that is what makes Jeff sad about the first "s***" . Me - I like it until after Christmas - then I am ready for it to go away.

They are playing Christmas songs on the radio today since it is "Light Up Night" tonight for the holiday season. Can't wait to see the decorations on the ship!

OK all - I need to stop reading posts and get the errands started - time to get ready for the cruise!! I don't have to work today - so I better get out there.

Thanks for the great pictures - beautiful!

Have a great day everyone. Will check back later.

Ohmigosh!! The Grass is Greener and all :sad2:

I would love to wake up to SNOW (that's the white stuff right?) :confused3

It was so hot in SoCal that I ran the airconditioner ALL DAY yesterday!! :headache:

UGH!! I have only heard of something as beautiful as freezing cold snow. :santa:

The main thing I am NOT happy with about the cruise is the possibility of more 80degrees days. I'll be the crazy lady hoping fo at least a little rain to lessen the humidity. :umbrella:

:tinker: Karen

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: sorry...please...please don't say that:sad1: I really want a really nice warm 2 weeks while on vacation before we have to start shoveling...and trust me...snow is nice at first but trust me after 3 months and snow banks so high you can't even shovel it anymore...everything changes:scared1:

With as much as I complain about the cold and snow, I think it makes us really appreciate summer that much more. I try not to ever complain when I'm running in the 90+ degree temps, because I know I'll be running when it's 0 soon enough.

This weekend, I'm going to pull out some Christmas decorations. Don't know if the tree will go up, but at least put out a few things to set the mood.

Gotta get some work done. . .

TTYL!

So sorry for using the s*** word.

I'm bad.

I know that hot weather can be very tiring but think of it this way compared to our winter. Turn on the air--we turn on the heat; go for a swim--we'll try to find every stitch of clothing we have to put on; get in your car and drive down the road as normal--we have to shovel out first and if your lucky your car is in the garage, but it fogs up the minute you hit the cold air, then slip and slide on the road hoping that the plow doesn't go by while your gone! WHY do we live here?

Dawn,
Michigan is a beautiful state. :thumbsup2 But I'd like to be a seasonal resident. Only in the warm months!:rotfl2:

Much of my family is up near Roger's City right now at our cabin. As you may, may not know, yesterday was opening day for deer hunting. It can be really pretty in November when it snows up there in the woods!

I'm like Mina, I don't mind the snow before Christmas... after that... ICK!
We really don't get a lot here though compared to you with that lake effect snow.

Ok... I'm REALLY REALLY going to get to work now...

Okay, what is everyone's packing status ... and when are you leaving?? :confused3

We are leaving Monday ... and haven't started ... YET :cool1:

We sortof have a Cruise stuff countdown. Here's what works for us ...

3 days out (today): Kids leave all their clothes in two stacks ... clean stuff they want to pack - in Family Room pile ... dirty stuff they want to pack - on laundry room floor. We then do laundry all day and add now clean stuff to Family Room piles. Oh and we also set suitcases on the floor near the stacks. ;)

2 days out (tomorrow): I sort thru the kids' clothes and make notes for what we still need (usually more flipflops or small stuff ... head to Walmart/Target (mall only if desperate, as a last resort) ... come home, re-sort, more notes, another store visit. Then I start to pull things out for Dave and myself ... more laundry, more notes, another store visit. I also raid our "Cruise" storage container and stack up random items like 70s/80s/Pirate gear to pack ... and I search for the over-the-door-holders, extension cords, and other "must pack" items. pirate:

1 day out (Sunday): We (okay mostly I) actually pack the bags and then everyone adds their toiletries and the "fun stuff". I make a list of all the things we will need to buy out in Cocoa Beach (aerosols like Solarcaine, disposable cameras for the kids, *ahem* Malibu Rum, etc.) I don't like to bring them on the plane, so we pick them up in FL. I try to remember to get our swimsuits out of the pool bag and throw out anything that might get fuzzy in the fridge. :dance3:

Travelling day: Drop off Sasha (our furry friend), load car and we are on our way. On the way to the airport, I remember many things that I *should* have taken care of ... more notes that I slip into a pocket of my luggage and promise to not look at or worry about until the car ride HOME from the airport. :scared1:

VACATION HERE WE COME!! :woohoo:

Nanahead hugs to everyone!!

Is anyone else going on the St John Trunk Bay Snorkel in St Thomas?

For everyone that is thinking about cold well today is the coldest day since last march and the low is 54 and the high 78 I would not say that is to bad compaired to the snow. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I think you all will be ok.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Hey everyone ... while I'm thinking of it ... I'm going to send out the FINAL CRUISEMATE LIST on Monday. So, if you have any updates, please let me know. It's crucial that your cabin number is correct so the Nana Fairy can find you ...

Karen, We leave after Skylar gets out of school next Tuesday. We'll be in Corbin, Kentucky by the end of that day. Everything is packed that can be packed. Everything will be loaded Monday night except for the toiletry bag and 1 suitcase. I'll wash one more time Tuesday morning, pack the clean underwear and clothes. I'll have packed some sandwiches and snacks for after school starvation. Pick up the boys, drop off the winter bags, school stuff, kiss Alexis (cry) and we're on our way.

We've found that having Alexis SEE us go with the suitcases helps her know that we are gone. Stephanie comes and "rescues" her. Otherwise, she keeps watching for us to come and get her.

I'm so there....
